Nice to hear you are better. With your gearbox issue, you might have had loads of people tell you this but have you double checked there is no air in the system? I heard that if you jack up the front so the slave cylinder is as high as you can get it, then push down the clutch pedal to the floor and wedge it with a bit of wood, leave it over night and any trapped air "should" move, then bleed it again or try reverse bleeding. I had the same issue with the S3.
Interesting. I usually reverse bleed them as it is easier. Cheers Geoff
Just adding this comment for anyone else that comes across it, I used a pressurised easybleeder kit (not expensive, simple to use) and it made bleeding the brakes and clutch an absolute breeze. I've been messing about with various vehicles for years and it was the first time I'd used one. Just keep the pressure on it low and make sure it's all tightened up.
Good to hear things are moving along hopefully 😊
Thanks mate. Got some great adventures coming your way. Cheers Geoff
I think converting it to a r380 would be alright they’re good gearbox nice and strong with five gears and would probably be a worthwhile upgrade
Definitely would work.I’ll put in on the cards for the future. Cheers Geoff
Hi Geoff can I pic your Brains . I have a Series 3 with a sherpa 300 2 half Diesel . now I can go through all the gear's when you can get them . but changeing down say from 4th to 3rd she bangs and that's even when I double the clutch . any ideas . cheers ...
Certainly you can pick my brains, that what I am here for.
Well the first thing I would look at is hydraulic clutch system. It sounds like it isn’t disengaging properly and hence why changing gear is difficult. Anyway best of luck and I hope this helped. Kind regards, Geoff
New subscriber here Geoff from the UK. And new Land Rover owner. Great videos! I've already learnt quite a lot. My Landy is a 1968 Series 2A Military 'Marshall' Ambulance.
