This is not even a good movie. Watching it really feels like the director didnt have the ability to make a good film so he just made it as edgy as possible instead.

The actress is what really made the film memorable to me, her performance is just something else. Horrific, emotional, beautiful, I wouldn’t even know how to describe it. Both were great but she just really stuck in my mind.

Tusk is bad but it is prime criteria for a cult classic.

I'm Christian, and recall watching this and being confused how the symbolism mis-matched the message. I've always equated the film with the line in Coleridge's 'Rime..', "The man indeed has penance done, and penance more shall do"; as if sensing Alex's transformation was incomplete. Chris Chan's lifestory is such a disturbing, gutwrenching, & infuriating tragedy! At the end of the day, we are talking about a moderately autistic person with the mental capacity of a 7-year-old(despite what Chris believes, they're clearly not high-functioning) who was failed spectacularly by their moronic parents, and who was driven batshit insane through being relentlessly bullied, deceived, & manipulated online for over 15 years! Chris is a victim. I'm not saying that Chris has never done anything wrong, but ultimately, Chris is a victim. Chris was born to the wrong people at the wrong time. A time when there was a very limited understanding of autism among medical professionals.

Largely misunderstood film. Many people think it's just shocking for the sake of it (Like many modern "disturbing" films)

I haven’t seen this movie yet but I don’t think you understand all the aspects of RV/vanlife. Cuz I fit in your “rich” vanlife box but I’m not. I’m just a single, no pet, no debt, no community guy. I didn’t make poor decisions in my life. You basically said this movie is culturally appropriating homelessness. I got interested in RV/vanlife for a couple reasons. And let me show you logic behind my decision. - I really hate the rules when it comes to renting. - I really hate the prices of renting. - I thought this would be a good way to visit my friends and family since I travel to them anyways. But as you grow, you learn your friends take different paths. - Growing up i would never been on the right schedule with my friends. So I made my life as flexible as possible so I can be on their time. I work remotely, I travel to them, I workout at night etc. This lead to making some bad friends but also lead to making vanlife easier. - I don’t like flying. - I’m lost in life. This is a great way to explore towns and find a good place to settle down in. Plus I’m gona keep my motorhome even after I have a house and kids for weekend trips so it’s not a one and done thing for me. - I’m sorta a minimalist. I didn’t aim to be one but I just don’t need much to make me happy. When living in past apartments I really just used my bedroom and kitchen. So I never needed a lot of space. - I used to keep snacks in my car all the time. Now I have a whole kitchen. - I love having everything I need with me always. A bed, kitchen, entertainment, etc. Anywhere can be my home. If I’m waiting for a friend, no problem. If I’m traveling long distances, no problem. If I am having a bad burrito reaction and there is no toilet around, no problem. Point I’m making is I would be considered rich according to your video’s classification of vanlifers. But I’m not. I just found a way to survive off little without suffering from having little. I’m not poor nor middle class. I’d say I’m a class of my own. The mentality of middle class with the amenities of poor. Capitalism man, it really gives you freedom. From the trailers, clips and this video, this movie comes off as a lesson in hope. Someone who got slapped by “life is unfair” and is adapting rather than crumbling. Someone who survived her life and has finally taken steps to live her life. Someone who just enjoys the lifestyle. In the end that’s all it is. A lifestyle. Just cuz poor people do it too doesn’t make it a class lifestyle. There are many ways to get out of poverty. It gets more challanging the more bad decisions you make. But unlike that Paul Schrader guy thinks, there is always a way. Remember change only happens when the fear of standing still is greater than the fear of moving forward. Also you literally are saying “o you live in a vehicle or trailer? You must be poor and unhappy.” Nope. Choices were made. Someone has to buy the vehicle, apply for a bad job, not try to move ahead etc. I mean what if it said, “O you live in a trailer, you must be white trash.” Or “o you are black? You must love fried chicken.” Prejudice and stereotypes my man. You gotta look behind and find the reason of the individual.

the end hit different, i watched the movie last night and cant stop thinking about it. i think human beings are definitely inherently vicious and selfish, most everything in our lives is for one person, and we often dont think about the history behind it. for example, the cobalt being mined in dangerous conditions by congolese people, getting paid less then $20 a day. yet we still buy these phones, laptops, electric cars etc, and im not saying we should give it all up because its impossible. today, humans are addicted to their screens, myself included. but we could definitley be more conscious on where we are getting our jewlery and technology from and even seek out better alternatives that dont have a blood and tears behind the makings.

Best only for juris and journalist with political leanings. As for a simple audience like me from India Casablanca is far far far better than Citizen Kane in every aspect. Casablanca is the best ever made.
