Why is nobody talking about how talking about how Tocchet called Pettersson a kid? He threw the media a huge bone there. I said Pettersson needs to get angry to focus his brain like when he entered the league and was treated like a "kid in a jersey." Well, Tocchet obviously read my comment and called him a kid and now Pettersson is going to have a 5 point game and be a story across the NHL. (honest prediction- but joking too obviously).

Bob was a Habs fan but you would never have known it to listen to him. I used to laugh every time I heard someone accuse him of being a Leafs homer. Couldn’t have been further from the truth, he was just a complete professional. RIP Mr. Cole! All Newfoundlanders, like myself, couldn’t have been prouder to call you one of our own! And thank you for being the voice of the NHL and for all the great memories you created!

My fondest memories of HNIC in the 1990s was Bob Cole & Harry Neale on the 7:00 pm broadcast!!! Loved this man’s call of the game. I am from Detroit so we get CBC from the border!

He may have not always gotten the names right but OH BABY, his voice, pacing, and cadence were the best out there. RIP Bob Cole.

bob cole was not the best play by play. Good play by play but Danny Galivan was a legend. He was also associated with the leafs.
