Good analysis, but Kesler actually scored a lot of his goals against Weber and Suter. The twins definitely helped him succeed but I don't think it's fair to say Kesler took weaker matchups cause he didn't, he just absolutely dominated that series against some of their best players
For one round Kesler played like a superstar. He presented a problem, and the Preds didn't have a solution.

Good analysis from Drance... I think the top five from the two teams match up pretty evenly. Where the Canucks have an edge would be depth, but the depth may or may not show up - Petey's play since the all-star break, offensively anyway, is worrisome. I know Garland and Joshua are going to try their darnest to do their thing, but not sure if Lindholm would be able to chip in offensively. So, the Canucks should be favoured if all things fall neatly into place, but things never do that 100%... But it's good to get playoff hockey finally!
Elias Pettersson needs to change his last name to “Virtanen” to avoid any more criticism from Don Taylor 😂

I really thought it was going to be LA in the 1st round. That's why I was saying 5 and out for the Canucks. With this match up I believe it could go 7 and go either way. We still have a few players like Petey that just not playing their best.
Petey's got 7 goals in his last 33 games, Boeser in non-existent, and Hughes looks fatigued. It's going 7 for sure.
I would expect we will eventually see EP40 matched up against ROR and Forsberg.

I can buttress the argument about not taking the Preds lightly -- they only scored ten fewer goals than the Canucks this year. They may not have much after the first line on paper, but somehow get the job done.
At least Dhali is learning something from Drance on his own show! 😂

2:14 No cause for concern, but DO NOT take the Preds lightly. Canucks can outscore and out goaltend them, but magic happens in the playoffs and the Canucks have to make sure they absolutely out-coach the Preds as well.
Miller will be a pain in the ass for the Preds. He'll be the Canucks "Kesler" of 2011. But possibly even harder to play against.
6:40 One difference with 2024 Canucks is even Pettersson, who is a Sedin-type in terms of weight class (but younger than the Twins at the time), will not be putting up with abuse. I KNOW the Sedins were taking the high ground, and I get it. But man, when you have pushback against a star player, it makes things even harder. And make no mistake, DJ and friends will have something to say about it.

If Petey treads water then we rely on Lindholm. If both of them elevate their games, then it's 5 games or less.
