Kellogg's Raisin Bran was probably my favorite cereal growing up, but I'm not much of a cereal eater now. I did notice they have Combos crackers, one of my guily pleasures! I couldn't tell if they had the cheddar cheese variety, my favorite. Is it mostly Americans who seem to shop there, or are there Icelanders in there as well?

We visited this spot back in 2022. It felt sad to know that even happened there.

The story of how Iceland became Christian is fascinating. In the Saga of Burnt Njal, it tells that during the Althing, here at Thingvellir, it looked as if there would possibly be violence over the issue. The question was put to a non Christian man, who declared that henceforth Iceland would be Christian, but that the pagans would not be forced to give up their ways or beliefs. In this episode on this channel, you are hearing what happened to religious tolerance when Christianity became strongly entrenched in Iceland. It did not follow the tolerance taught by Jesus, and essentially decreed, “THOU SHALT KILL”!. This is a lesson for us all, often those who claim to be strongly religious are really pseudo christian, self righteous hypocrites with a dual vision of what is right behavior. To whit: if someone else does it wnd shakes your faith, it must be horribly wrong. However, if you are disturbed by what they are doing, it os ok to commit violence against them, the complete betrayal of Jesus and his teachings!

I find myself in Laura's story, especially in the layer of emotions and feelings. I have the same observations about seasons, language and life in the countryside. I visited Iceland in 2019 and cried the last night before I left. Last year I came for 3 months for seasonal work and... I'm still here. My sons are now adults, and I am starting life anew in the Icelandic countryside :) I recently bought a car so I will finally be able to visit the Westfjords, which I have not seen before. It's truly a beautiful and magnificent park. The rich history and landscape are amazing. We went thinking we'd be there 20 - 30 minutes and ended up spending a couple of hours.

There are Leadersheep, which is a subtype of Icelandic sheep, that is breed for intelligence and herding. The leadersheep would lead the group from pasture to pasture. They are not used as much these days, but an effort is being made to breed the Leader type sheep both in Iceland and the US and Canada.

Why is it there get that thing back to the Arctic where it came from?
