It would be so cool if you were a traveler guide . I’d love to learn more about Iceland with a guide like you! I’m on a solo travel kick this year and have traveled to a few places outside the country this year, and would love to see Iceland someday!
Just got back from Iceland two weeks ago. We rented a campervan from a company that was not Go Campers and had an absolutely miserable experience. To preference, I OWN a campervan and am a very experienced campervan traveler. We rented one of this company’s EX vans (for experienced) and it was so uncomfortable that we ended up renting hotel rooms/hostels every night. We were three people and I was the designated person to sleep up top. First, there was no way to climb up into the berth - none. Fortunately (or not) I was able to hoist myself up by stepping on the refrigerator (probably why the fridge lid was broken). However, there was barely enough room for me to turn on my side. I am not claustrophobic in the slightest but I could not sleep in the upper berth and ended up sleeping across the front seats. My two travel companions were miserable in the bed which was a thin 1 inch piece of foam over fold down seats that literally had springs poking out. It was more comfortable sleeping across the three front seats. Generally, I think renting a campervan to tour Iceland is a great way to see the country but really check out which company you use so you don’t end up with a “Crappy Camper” like we did.
I will come to visit Iceland one day, but I think due to the need for bathroom in the night, I think an RV with a toilet, would probably be my preference😊
Totally understand that. At the moment, the only barrier for some Americans wanting to rent an RV here is that most of them are manual vehicles. I hope that changes in the future.
We will be heading to Iceland in 20 days and your videos have me so pumped about our trip!
Yay and so glad to hear that. I hope you have an amazing time!! 🤗
Jewells, I’ve followed you for several years and your enthusiasm for Iceland has never waned. It’s because of you, that I put Iceland on my list of countries to visit. Thank you for sharing your joy with us. 🙏🏽🤍
Aww, that’s so amazing to hear. It’s my pleasure to share and thank you so much for your lovely comment. 🤗❤️
@@AllThingsIceland Absolutely!!
Looked into a campervan and it just wasn't enough of a savings. Our hotels and car came to $2173USD for 8 days and 7 nights. The gas would have been more expensive for a van. We did a thousand miles on our trip. We were in Iceland from 10/9 - 10/16 this year. Being from NY I didn't find Iceland any more expensive, except for the gas, than prices here. In fact the hotels and cabins were far less expensive. Here in the Hudson Valley a hotel room in Kingston can be $300 a night. All of our hotels and cabins which had private bathrooms were under that price.
The pyro in me 🔥 sees the pyro in you Jewells. 😂
YASS!!! 🔥🔥🔥😂😂
Thank you! I was excited when i opened the email telling me you posted this info. Campervan touring Iceland is on my shortlist.
My pleasure and so glad to hear that. 🥳😊

I'd visit Iceland on the first Jewells tour. 😊❤
Aww, thanks 🤗❤️
It's decided. When we visit Iceland, my husband and I will do the campervan to see the country. It seems so very practical and allows for flexibility and spontaneity. 💡 Thank you for highlighting this awesome idea! Looking forward to your camper series, Jewells. Wonderful vlog‼️💯
Yay!! My pleasure and thank you 🤗
I watched this late last night while I was getting in my steps for the day. I meant to leave a comment to thank you for the content. Also I think it would be so cool to go whale watching in Iceland. From everything I've seen it's such a beautiful place.
My pleasure. Yes, whale watching is amazing in Iceland. 😍
This is cool. I have watched people do this all over the US. Looking forward to your journey. If I could I would love to do this.
Thank you and glad to hear that.

Went to Iceland this year, your tips were so beneficial. Thank you!!!! I loved Iceland, there is nowhere quite like it.
I’m so glad to hear that! It’s my pleasure to share. 😊
Love your videos
Thank you!
This is amazing!! My two favorite things: van lifing /camping and Iceland 😍
🥳🥳🥳
I've been to Iceland a couple of times, but really didn't see much but Reykjavik, The Blue Lagoon (although I hear there's a better hot spa nearer to the city) and the Golden Circle. I'd love to see more of it.
I hope you do see more of it. There is so much amazing nature here 😊
We did the hotel/ring road route. If I get to go back I want to concentrate in the north and east… but maybe in a van?The south and west were wonderful but we saw whales up north!
Nice!!
This is my opinion and others may disagree but I really enjoy these types of vlogs better if there is more scenery of the place you're vlogging about. I would actually like to see Iceland. I understand it's very informational but I think it could be cool if you were still giving the information but had footage that you cut to as you're talking of Iceland's the scenery and terrain. Again this is just my preference, and I'm just throwing it out there, but maybe something to consider? Maybe others will agree? ☺
Thanks for the feedback 😊
Absolutely love this idea, Jewells! I know it’s not everyone’s cup of tea, but I really enjoy car camping in my Prius because I’m cheap! Van camping will seems posh 🤣 Can’t wait for my Iceland trip. Thank you. This is my type of video! ❤
Woohoo!! So glad this resonated with you. It’s funny to think of van camping as posh but I understand. 😂❤️
Summertime: 24 hour days 😮🤔 Well thats interesting?
Yes, we have 24-hour bright days during June, July and early August 😊
I hope this cars come with CO2 warning sensor.
I haven't actually seen anything like that in the van. 🤔
@@AllThingsIceland Then you should buy one. Because there have been really bad accident with this type of rental cars in the past (because of the gas). Why this is not mandated by laws I do not know. But it should be a requirement.
If anyone goes to Iceland for Msc/MBA program and only know English, Don't know Icelandic. What's the possibility of getting job there and how much time it may takes to get a job.
Thanks in advance💟
Hello,
I would get a portable toilet for the van. They have composting toilet or bucket toilet.
Thanks for sharing and definitely worth thinking about.
Does the campers have wifi?
👍🏽
😊
Hello,
Does it ever get warm enough to wear a t shirt during the summer in Iceland?
Hi! Icelanders and those that. Have acclimated to the weather wear shorts and a t-shirt during summer when it is around 50 degrees Fahrenheit and a little more than that. 😅
@@AllThingsIcelandHey 60 degrees is bikini weather here in Seattle. 😊
Do you feel safe doing this solo?
Yes, very safe. 😊
Hey Can I come and travel with you....Lets Collab!
What say?
Possibly! It depends on if our schedules align. 🙂
@@AllThingsIceland My schedule is pretty flexible!
you are hyper…….
More like excited 😊
