Taxes are on personal property, your unit, ITH pays taxes on the physical land. I have a mobile home park and its the same for the folks who own their own mobile home and rent a spot from me. I have 3 ITH homes the process was interesting to say the least. They won't get any more of our money. Very unorganized, piss poor communication, and the product was not what we expected.

I wanted to go Tiny for a VERY long time and even thought I'd buy from Incredible Tiny Homes, but changed my mind after seeing and hearing about all the shenanigans 😳. My older sister retired to South Carolina so now I'm thinking of going that way and after doing the math, figured it'd be just as affordable for me to sell my home and just put it into another one. So Happy 😊 for you that you are getting your house back!

One positive thing is that your sister will be next door, and you can work out a laundry arrangement with her. That's really nice of her to put in an underground fence. I thought maybe the two of you would put decks & a fence around buth tiny houses, with gates to get in & out.

I would love to go Tiny but I can’t afford it. I did have a dream of acquiring property & create a tiny stick built community. But circumstances made that it impossible! I am landlord. I have a loan payment, sky high insurance,utilities and taxes. I have crazy upkeep and tenants who cause so much damage that I rarely break even. There are two sides to every story.

I agree with people getting greedy once they see the demand for lots, ex $770 month rent x12= 8,400 and if owner has small land with 15 lots that's 126K per year. If the lots get more expensive nationwide, it will hinder the tiny house movement AS low affordable housing/low income housing movement.

Going tiny doesn’t make it less expensive. The only way to make anything affordable is to own all your stuff. Not easy to do. Kody is fine. People say stupid things. People who own an overpriced home in the North East with more equity than mortgage who sell can afford to buy land and a small cabin or tiny home. We have to move south or to northern New England. Husband and I will be heading probably to Maine. It’s outrageous what the cost of living is. Disgraceful.

Check with your neighbor (mike), maybe he and my mom would be interested in buying it. Maybe it could be slid over. I have seen sheds "shifted" by rolling them on PVC pipes. You are right about this country's sad economic situation. I once heard that the USA could become another Venezuela, that went from wealthy to 3rd world because of the government. When you get to Bryson, check with Chamber of Commerce, find out what people/tourists go there for and that may help you decide on where to look for employment. I know someone who used to work on the train as a guide/narrator. It wouldn't be all that different than talking on You Tube. Steady employment might be at Fryemont Inn at the registration desk...maybe?

I understand completely how you feel … high cost of living is so bad! My grocery bill sure is higher … I buy what I can and what I can’t … I don’t! Think a lot of people have their tiny homes & RVs paid for so $700 isn’t bad if that’s the only expense you have for the month. People are desperate to find a place to park their tiny homes & RVs so they have to pay whatever someone wants to charge. It’s unfortunate but understandable.

Yep I was told I needed to remove my dog cause he's so big 82 pds. No way will I ever he's my ride or die side kick! I just got a huge shocker when suddenly half my tiny lost power! I had to dip in savings to hire electrician to put in new underground wire from pole to tiny! I own outright my tiny rent lot is resonable but life keeps throwing a monkey wrench into my way its always a storm waiting to kick us. Greed is getting so bad now. Even my vet charged me 268.00 fir 6 months flea heart meds! Chewy it's only 190. Even My vet is price gouging 😢

So glad you are getting things going. Take a lot of time with your daughter!! My brother just passed unexpectedly 3 days ago and my heart is broken. We were only 18 months apart and so we went through school together, a lot of our friends were the same , and he was my bud. My son and his family and my dad are all that's left now.
