I’m finally getting my utilities installed on my lot here in IL. I’ve been working on getting storage bins/shelves/etc put in my THOW! It’s a lot of thinking and figuring with my illness. And I’m praying I can be in by Mother’s Day 🙏🏻 You did a beautiful job outside and great lil changes inside. Please check Kody and yourself for ticks! Lori, try a brown paper bag crinkled and shaped like a bee hive. Tie it with a string near the door. They think it’s another nest and most likely won’t come near it. Worth a try. My sister uses it.
I use pine sol with water in a spray bottle and spray around my door and porch, works great. I read somewhere they don’t like the smell of pine. Not sure if that’s true but it seems to work for me.
I think even moving a little bit and opening up the space is helpful. It gives the feeling of more room for you and Kody. Sometimes I have totes of things in my front room that I'm sorting through to donate and reorganize, and they will sit for a few days before I'm done and when they get put away it's like my LR expanded in size, just by removing some totes. It's an odd illusion but I think it helps declutter the mind as well.
I just now started to decorate my low income apartment I've been in 2 years that I didn't want to be here because I'm from Oregon and got dumped in Alabama 3 years ago and I'm out of my element but the good news is like you I'm finally accepting where I'm at on the way to where I'm going and it's refreshing to see you too living the happiest life you can with what you have and where you're at you're doing a beautiful job my goal is to get a car in July for my 71st birthday so I'm praying about that because I'm stuck in the boonies but the apartment is so cheap my only obstacle is transportation to medical appointments love what you're doing on your channel now I call myself the armchair traveler but thank you for sharing everything the good and bad I'm glad things are working out for you it's all in your change of heart and of course changing surroundings helps may God lift you up because he didn't bring you this far to let you down

Making tiny changes makes a difference! How in the world do you & Kody sleep on that bed together? He looks like he would be a good snuggle buddy. I love for my house to smell clean. Try crisp linen Febreeze. Love the smell!
LOL we manage on that bed. Only reason I got a twin was cause in the other house, it was in the loft. Kody would come up and on the bed, but he slept downstairs on the loveseat in the other house. Lol we make do. I'm used to him hogging. 😂🤣🥰
And, I use electric/solar bug zappers, in my condo. Inexpensive too. If a bug flies, in my door, it is not alive, very long! And, I live with wetland woods, 10 feet from my door!

So the head of bed will be on the same wall where you put the turquoise shelve and the foot of the bed would face the kitchen. That would give you more room to get in the door. Just an idea, but you shouldn’t be moving your bed with your ribs

The loft is shorter than in the other house, so there's not much room at all if u put the bed up there, and Kody loves to sleep in bed with me, he wouldn't be able to, and he would cry if he couldn't come up there. Lol

Really? Bees? I think what you might be experiencing are Carpenter Bees. I have them too here in the upstate of South Carolina. They won't hurt you. I actually swat them with my hand as they hoover. But I did learn they pollinate, so I don't kill them anymore.
Especially Dawn (the blue kind) dishwashing liquid, some white vinegar and water. Keep that handy by the door, then spray the railings, the table and even mist yourself and Kody as you go out, and that should keep the bugs off of you when you want to enjoy your little porch. I learned all this when I first moved where I am now and the chiggers were eating me like a Christmas turkey every time I tried to sit outside! I even took the spray bottle out there with me.

I watched a video last week about a new tiny at Lola's. It looked like it was on top of a hill with a large stoned lot.
