Bought St. Anger once... ....was shocked. But this is how I would love it. Damn MetallicA what have you done once.

I liked the album, but the songs were just unnecessarily long. 4 minutes for most of the songs would have been good.

St anger has some weird stuff but actually one of mu fav and i think invisible kid is on G tuning (i think drop G )

I gotta be honest, you went too high. Standard E tuning was the wrong choice.

Absolute trash of an album

2min & 24sec into the video and, even though I haven't heard your new version yet, I already approve because a) it's in standard tuning and b) you fixed the thing I hated most about the album by saying you were going to include a guitar solo. Edit: I didn't think altering that riff on the high frets of the low strings would work but you made it work. I think you could've left it unchanged and it'd still work with your version. But the main thing is I enjoyed it.

I stuck with Metallica through Load and Reload. When everyone was bitching about how they sold out and cut their hair and all that BS. Then they put out St. Anger. And I TRIED to like it. I really did but I ended up throwing the CD in the trash it was just so damn bad. 🙁

The Album sounds good as it is! Some people like it and some do not. Every Metallica Album sounds different and this Album stands out and I like it as it is.

I actually think that although there are some cool ideas here, that record needed : a crisp ,precise production first and foremost especially mix wise. That includes editing. Arrangements needed brought under control with the extended repetitive moments clipped here and there. Better vocal performances. Solos, to be honest I didn't see as a big issue as the arrangements didn't call for them but with the above fixes ,that may well have laid the ground for them. Lyrics...the lyrics are mostly 💩 . Harmonies . Both guitar (but less so) but especially Vocal . While Jason was there they knew the vocal harmonies would work live. They seemed to shy away from that when he left until just recently . I think the riffs and core ideas actually weren't too bad. The execution waa a mess and to be honest ,I think they reacted to nu metal and tried to do something more in keeping with that sonic trend (hence the dry, low compression and snareless sonic landscape etc ),but their own spin. That was probably the biggest mistake . I remember James saying in an interview about Metallica's sound that it was defined not by the chugging low end so much as the cutting high end. The "crispness" was important ,the crack of the snare,the attack of the bass drum. On that record they ditched most of that . Although the bass drum actually sounds pretty good on thar record. Bigger than usual actually . The interaction between the kicks and the bass is probably the best thing about the record if you ask me.

SKOM is absolutely my favorite song on the whole album, but quite honestly, it just doesn't have that same raw power without the metal pipe snare...
