    I’ve become a non believer in the repeated myths of the 6.5. I run an HX35 average 7-15lbs and peak at 22lbs when I’m balls to the wall passing someone at 80mph. 230,000 original miles, no studs, commute an hour each way to work daily and tow between 4-7,000 lbs. egt’s rarely hit 800 and usually live between 4-700. Back pressure is what kills a head gasket and I’m making less back pressure at 22lbs with the HX35 4” straight pipe, then I was on the GM4 at 15lbs.

      I agree that the turbos caused a lot of issues that plagued the 6.5. I don't push mine as high I only run 12 psi. It's done well for me so far. It does get warm pulling long hills with a trailer. Generally we are pulling between 5-12k trailer weight.

    Greetings! You produced a very nice video. We encountered much of the same issues when we set ours up a couple years ago. We always separate the lambs from the ewes first and run them separately. Once one sees a "friend going thru the set up each is obedient to follow! In our case we don't have a few hundred but right now only about 70. Our goal is to winter about 20-30 Katahdin breeding ewes and retain about 10 of the best ewe lambs for the next year. Be careful with the squeeze- I more than once got my fingers whacked when releasing the sides. My husband Jim gave me the right way to hit it to release without injury! That was a good idea to use your crook on the swing door of the crowding chute. In our case, we have this under cover in one of the barns so the entire set-up is easily accessible. Jim made me some shelves against the barn wall for guns, the rfid reader, meds, etc. Your idea of a portable "table" attached to the set up is a good one especially with an external, in the field set up. We have the scale set up immediately following the chute with the sort unit after the scale and the turn table last. We couldn't justify the extra cost of an electronic scale but use the analog type which for our volume is no big deal. With your size flock I imagine it will be more efficient for you to use the digital scale. When we run everyone thru to check feet, deworm,etc it takes us about 1.5-2 hours. We have been enjoying your videos for quite some time and appreciate the time you spend in both their creation and editing. Sorry this notte is so long! May many blessings abound for you and your family!. Enjoy your day and keep up the good work!

  • @alanwesterfield4254

    Oh Brother you look bad sunburned! Nice set up and I don't mean to be critical at all I know your time is very limited.... but.... If you can put those sheep in the lot and let them walk through the system on their own to learn it. DONT touch them or do anything to them. Just lure them through with some feed and let them have the treat at the end. Food is the only thing I have found that sheep respond to or remember. Let them learn that walking through the system ends in something good. Do that a few times per week and they will likely do much better. Not perfect but better.

    • @FreedomFarmsMo
      @FreedomFarmsMo Před dnem

      That is a good idea too but won't be easily managed for us. Their schute system is in the barnyard and they are in a different paddock every 5 days. They do not return to the same paddock for 2 months. Great idea though. The second time.through went way smoother than the first though. Just takes time to get them used to it

      Learn a little more about our channel...I am a soldier and have been for 18 years. We started this farm 7 years ago and decided to make it Freedom Farms due to my family's sacrifice and my service. It has to do with the missed birthdays, holidays, anniversary, and birth of one of my children. This name reminds them of what all of us gave not just me as the service member. I don't give a crap about politics because none of them care about us or our nation to the same capacity as it's citizens. But keep being blinded by news flash this and news flash that so we don't all see the real issues in our nation. You must be confusing this channel with @cleetusmcfarland and all the other big channels that name things freedom this or that and then sell Chinese apparel. All of my apparel is made in the USA and I don't make any money off of it so I can keep prices lower. But again make your assumptions as you wish after all it is a free country and the 1st amendment does allow you to say what you want no matter how dumb you may look.

      Depending on your location it should be. If you live in Arizona it might not be enough, if you live in the Midwest it is plenty. You still need to break it down into multiple paddocks to attempt to keep them off the same paddock for at least one month but preferably two months before returning to the same paddock

      I think an intercooler is absolutely necessary otherwise if you're just forcing hot air in it won't make much power compared to the same amount of air at a cooler temperature. The 5-in exhaust would be a waste of time I only have a 4 in exhaust on my Duramax. My Duramax makes 653 wheel horsepower and 1601 ft lbs of torque with 4" downpipe and exhaust. Definitely wouldn't need a 5" on a 6.5
