- We are trying out multi species rotational grazing program at Freedom Farms! Rotational grazing has really been an amazing tool with tremendous impact on our pastures and our flock too! We want to take it a step further and add highland cattle to the grazing plan and turn it into a multi species rotational grazing program!

Ahhhhhh.... Staff Duty.... I don't miss THAT!!! 😂
I agree with the multi-species grazing. And being able to lease to someone? That's a great, cost-effective way to do it!
Staff duty is the worst 😭 I don't want to talk about it 😂
We really like it so far and can't wait to see some soil test results to see if it makes a difference. I am pretty confident it will.
Helping you and your neighbor. That is a good thing. Maybe he will ask you at some point to run the sheep thru his land. But we want our neighbors doing well.
So true! It's good to help each other
Howdy from Oregon co Missouri!
Well hello there. That's a pretty area of Missouri too
Hey Sarge I am still iced in and I just remember one thing that you forgot when you did your barn video when everything is heated you don't have to get out in the cold to bust ice to make sure they get water
Don't feel bad we are too. This video is from a couple months ago. I am very behind on editing. Unfortunately the barn isn't heated at all. Just sheep body heat and a wind block so we still have to break ice if it gets below 20 overnight and thaw out hoses. These heated hoses keep failing us and we are not going to buy anymore. So now we just swap hoses every morning. It's alright though, just part of farming sometimes
Looking good. Congratulations
Thank you, just finding some more ways to improve our farm
Awesome buddy hope everything goes great for you guys keep warm thanks for everything
Thank you! I hope all is well for you too and you are staying warm as well. God bless you
Im just getting the last shed ready to bring the last lot of ewes in the biggest issue we have worm wise this time of the year is fluke which are carried by slugs.
First job will be vaccinating the tegs with Heptivac P+ as they need two shots
Thankful that issue isnt something we deal with. Slugs aren't very popular here
@@FreedomFarmsMo if it wasn't for the snakes I'd be tempted to move there especially due given we are just outside the blue tongue control zone after infected midges were brought in on cut flowers to Belgium and the Netherlands.
Though at least according to a farmer that had it the last time Romney's seemed to not get it as severely as texels which a 100% of his texel rams died though I don't know if it will matter much if they bring in a compulsory cull though the biggest hit was on the £60 to £90 financial hit on each lamb we sold due to the monopoly the slaughter house held
Ouch that is rough. Hopefully it gets better for you all
Look into a weed wiper, it may be just what you are looking for to control the undesirable plants.
I'll look at it but I'm sure this way is cheaper. Thanks for the information
