- Winter chores for our farm and what they look like on a cool winter day. Our sheep are in confinement and require daily feeding, checking water, and wellness checks. This allows us to ensure our flocks health doesn't decline during winter and lambing while the demand from their body is at its highest.

Back in the day, we used to do deep bedding in the sheep barn. Have you thought about that? Sure helped with the winter chores.
We do deep layering so that we only scrape the floor once a month. Works pretty well as a matter of fact and helps us avoid wet days for spreading manure.

I am army strong but also an army of one and being all I can be 😂 The army taught me cold and wet weather can make you miserable but not quite like being cold and wet at the same time.

What size that barn? How many sheep’s there?
The barn is a 140 ft long and 40 ft wide. 10ft of the 140 ft length is taken up by the creep feeder at the top along with some pins to separate needy ones. And then the last 30 ft of that length is also taken up by hay storage and having to be able to access the doors. Living spacewise they are using a 100 ft x 40 ft for 180 ewes. They are only in the barn for 3 months a year the other nine months they are on pasture

Where i live we have long winters so my sheeps have to stay in a barn for about 6 months because no grass in fields.
