I love working with wood and building things. I hope I can inspire people to build things and have the willingness to try to make something on their own. I am a retired Army veteran (Chief Warrant Officer 3). Woodworking can be a really good way to take your mind off things if you struggle focusing on life. I hope to make this my full time job one day, but it will take the support of fellow woodworkers watching and subscribing to my channel. Thank you in advance.

I had the breaker on my switch trip when I was cutting heavier loads on the table saw. Both Vac and table saw were on the same circuit. I abandoned the switch and put Vac and table saw on separate circuits (table saw on a 20a and vac on a 15a.) This solved my tripped breaker problem. I just have to turn the Vac on and off manually.

Thank you so much for posting! Would you say this is foldable or collapsible? 😮
5 pieces like the video shows.
You finally got a CNC! Way to go!
Shared this with a wedding rental company down in Kansas. Hopefully, they’ll be buying a set of plans from you & gain a subscriber
Thank you for such a fantastic video. You do such awesome work. Do you have a plan for this? I tried to follow along. Got confused.
@@anetralewis3053 no plans for these yet. I might do some eventually
The lightbulb link says they are 5 watt. Is this the one you are still using or are you getting a brighter one now?
@@janetbirkner6709 I’ve changed over to a brighter bulb. I think they are still 5 watt but it’s LED and equivalent to 15 watts
@@janetbirkner6709 here you go amzn.to/3xOLll4
@@yellowhammerwoodcrafts thanks so much! I love your videos, they are so helpful!
Would recommend to start with the 3ft letters or the 4 ft letters?
@@janetbirkner6709 most people will take whatever you have and 3’ is cheaper to build. I have 3’ letters and 4’ numbers
I really like this but do you have any problem with them blowing over?
Base is big enough to keep from that and these would mostly be for indoors.
Great explanations - I'm skipping the casters, as our cats are heavier and leap up and down...even locking casters will be taxed. We also need to weight the base to avoid tipping..could attach an anti-tip rope to wall or bracket to floor but painted drywall and hard wood floors need to be kept whole.
I’d probably just do a thicker base. Instead of one or two 3/4” sheets doubled up, do 3-4 and that should definitely keep it from tipping
I have this same planer... It works great!
Great video, thank you so much for the information. Couple things, some of the links on your website (female/male plugs) are not correct. One link says SPT-1 and the other states SPT-2 so it is unclear which you are using. Lastly, I purchased your rental contract and it is in PDF form. It would be better if it was in a word doc so it could be edited. I appreciate that it was inexpensive, however, its a pain that I now have to try to copy and paste the entire 5 page document into a word doc and then edit from there. Just some feedback 🙃
Thanks for the feedback. I was unaware it wasn’t editable in PDF. I’ve sold probably a hundred copies and nobody ever mentioned that.
@@yellowhammerwoodcrafts hahaha yeah you have to have a paid version of adobe in order to edit a PDF 🙂 also for my own clarification are you using SPT -1 or SPT -2 for the plug? Thanks!!
ROLL TIDE! Great job!
Very nice David. What is this going to be?
It’s the top to a stage/ platform I’m working on for an Event planner. She has props to go with it.

I can’t find the build plans in your Etsy shop.
They aren’t my build plans. You can get the plans from DIY wedding market on Etsy.
It looks just like the Wahuda.
I’m sure they are comparable
Did you have plans for this build?
No. Sorry.
Can I make this for under 500
No. You can for double that.
New sub here from 731 Woodworks
Thanks for the sub!
For your carpet, you could have done the join in the middle of the post, then you could just butt the two edges together.
Just came across this vid. Im sure you've been able to get it fixed. If not, I got your cutterhead on my shelf in md tn.
I just watched your video on making the letters. You started out saying you used 1/4" plywood, but in the video, the plywood looks a lot thicker. Is it 1/4 in or thicker?
1/2” back, 3/4” sides
Where did you purchase the plexiglass?
Home depot
Do you get requests for different color letters or lights, or do you just keep them all in white?
White is the most popular color for events and I e never been ask for any other color.
How much can you sell one for if you did. Not rent it but sell the letter to someone
I used to sell them but not anymore. They sold for $180 a letter and $220 for the 48” numbers
Great job David. Came over from 731.
Thank you!
RTR Florence,AL here!

You do awesome work and you're also fine craftsmen. We love Pitbull's, our pits name is Alpha. He's the most loving fur-baby.
My pit is my big baby. He’s given a lot of love.
So I said I would tell everyone what I sold these for. I had about $300 in materials and sold them for $700. I had about 4-5 hours in them.
Very nice video. Thanks for going over some of the details in 731’s live stream. I do mainly cutting boards and stuff. But I want to start making bigger stuff like you do. I also need to utilize my cnc more.
Hoping to get to use mine some more now. I’ve sold about $300 worth of things made from it, so looooonnnng way from paying for itself
RTR! First video after watching you on 731 Woodworking podcast. You have produced a wonderful idea that displays both your creative and woodworking skills. I will be looking into this project's feasibility in my area (Mobile).
Mobile would be a great area. Probably a lot of events in that area!
This is one beautiful Cart.
Thank you! I’m working on Build plans for it.
$350. Materials about $90
Man you gotta tell me where you are buying 3 sheets of 1/2” plywood and 1 sheet of 1/4” plywood and 12 2x4s and 2 quarts of paint for $90. I’ve been shopping at the wrong place…lol. Materials were right at $300
Looks great!! I would love to purchase! Can this be shipped to NC?
No, sorry. I don’t ship them. I do sell plans for it though. If you can find someone local to build it.
Is the speed of the VFD spindle controlled by the software/g-code? One of my concerns with using a router is having to manually set the speed using a dial.
Yes it is controlled in the software
How much did the materials cost you
Right at $1000
Nice build, love the bright colors too! I hear you loud and clear on building multiple things, unless it's for a kindergarten class of course.
You build those garden stands over and over right?
@@yellowhammerwoodcrafts Lol I totally forgot about those and yes I’ve built about 40-50 over 4-5 years so not so bad plus it’s a big money maker! I’m talking more like a bunch of anything at one time like 100 cutting boards no thanks! 💪👍🏻
@@BuildwithMooney yeah that’s just not what I like to do. I don’t know how Jennie and Davis sell thousands of dollars in cutting boards every year. That’s so boring.
@@yellowhammerwoodcrafts It’s their money maker, we all have our preferences. Just like your letters!
$1 dollar, but serious answer is $600
That’s pretty close but it’s more
$750 for 3
Hi David, great video! I'm looking at getting the Shapeoko 4 XL model. I was wondering if you remember approx how long it took for assembly of your machine? Also, do you think building an enclosure is a must? For both dust and sound purposes on this unit?
Mine is not loud at all. I don’t think an enclosure is necessary. Took about 5 hours to build.
Do you sell these?
Rent only
how many letters do you connect per extension i had issues were they keep blowing 5x20mm fuces on the cords when i use more than 4
If you have a problem with four letters, there’s something very wrong with your wiring. I’ve had as many as 15 connected together for hours and no problem. You should be able to connect the entire alphabet on one outlet with no issues. Your bulbs should only be 1 watt.
Where can you buy the 6x8 ft plexiglass?
I used two 4x8 sheets and cut a foot off both. I couldn’t find any local 6’ wide but there are places that had it. Was just too far away for me.
@@yellowhammerwoodcrafts Could you share who the 6'? I want to create this without the seem and willing to pay shipping
@@justadream_ugc I just googled places with plexiglass and called around. I have no idea what places they were now. Sorry.
You are feeding the material to fast.
Is there a build plan available for this cart?
You can find a couple different variations of it on Etsy, but I never did any plans for this one.
I’m going to end up buying this planer soon. I don’t have a huge shop so it’s likely that this will be perfect for me.
Did you shoot the Brad najls straight through the plexiglass glass?
No. Brad nails will not go through plexiglass. Pre dill and screws
Thanks for real
I would like to add wheels to the bottom, any videos on that? Or how-to’s?
4 Small castor wheels screwed onto each corner.
So helpful thank you!
Thanks
Hello David I’m wondering how you drawing the angles so fast for the back of the letter when I’m drawing it’s taking me a bit longer on the angled parts to find the right measurements
