  • A woodworking tool review and use of the Rikon 8" benchtop jointer with spiral cutterheads. I have used this jointer for a couple of months now and it has worked great and almost zero issue. It is worth noting, this jointer is not the Shelix style or helical cutterhead, but it does cut really well with 16 carbide cutters on 6 rows. Thanks for watching.

Thanks for the review. However one correction! Jointing one face of a board (straight and flat) then flipping it over and jointing the other face doesn't necessarily leave you with a uniformly thick board. The proper procedure is to joint one face and then one edge. Assuming your fence is dialed in correctly that should give you an edge with a perfect 90 degrees off the flat face. Now you can cut the width of the board on a table saw using the straightened edge against the fence. Then run the board (flattened face down) through a thickness planer or thickness sander to get a uniform thickness. The difference is a planer or thickness sander uses the pre-flattened face as a reference whereas a jointer doesn't really register off of anything to guarantee a uniform thickness.

Please do us all a favor and save us from watching another unboxing video. Use the tools for months before you review. This review was good. Thank you.

Agree with your point about being afraid of the machine… healthy fear will allow you to have respect for the tool and lets you keep your fingers 😬

Why not measure the mower decibel and tell us,,so you can offer exact numbers on each to compare.

Links to everything except the reviewed product. Why?

Because I bought it from woodcraft in the store. Don’t think you can buy this on Amazon anymore.
