Today, we're converting our single-dart bodice block to a 2-dart bodice block. Many people choose to use the 2-dart block as their main bodice block, as opposed to the single dart block, because it's easier to manipulate to create styles that will need you to split the dart (like princess seams). The 2-dart bodice is a great option for larger cup sizes since the dart volume is split in two. Thi...

      @@TheAwlNighter1 is there anyway you could show us how to do it in that scenario? Or write it out? Im just a little confused but everything else was explained perfectly! Im still just getting into the world of patternmaking:) If i could assume i would guess you would use the pivot technique after the relocation to true your dart legs? Appreciate you very much!

      @TheAwlNighter1 Před měsícem

      @AtelierDSD with either technique, you will need to true your dart legs. I have a video called "how to true darts" that may help you. With the slash and spread method you will need to put a piece of paper under the hole/need dart and tape it so you can create the dart intake. Watch that video and let me know if you have more questions!

    2 things, firstly I made my own ham because I thought they were stupidly expensive for what they are. I bought the wool fabric from a thrift store in the guise of wool pants and then stuffed it myself. I sew bags and purses and this has worked well for me. Secondly, being new to garment sewing, my mistake was to cut the dart area and sew with the seam allowance, thus making the dart longer. Thank you for showing me my error.

I'll make one from a tin can. This tutorial is very well-made and thorough though!, thank you, it is easy to follow for my endeavors of FINALLY getting to make my thing!. EDIT: AND i need to get a shabby thing for a second spool of thread...i am sure i can make a shabby thing for the thing...damn things!, i wish my machine came with the thing!. (nvm it did oops) well...still learning alot of things, my desire to pintuck has me on a journey that is for-sure.

    I picked apart seams on one of my blouses. It was both relaxing and satisfying, picking out the seams. I realize it is not necessary to pick it apart. I wasn't planning on wearing it again, and picking it apart was a final goodbye. It also gave me insight on the construction on this shirt. It is an old worn-out shirt that I don't wear any longer. I've also gained a few extra pounds and need to add a size. I love this video because it is informative. The collar seemed wonky on paper. I will try again using interfacing and your tips.

    I know that you're using a computerized sewing machine, but for anybody that is looking to do all of this, a lot of these stitches can be found in older sewing machines that have cams and you can get them generally speaking, reasonable and you can get the cams reasonably. So if you're not having a budget for a more expensive machine, you can look to the older ones. But you want the ones that have cams multi-stitch things like that. Like the singer 385 series, the Kenmore 158 series. You can even go back to the singer. Slant shank such as the touch and so and things like that that have cams you may have to get with somebody that knows how to get a older sewing machine where it works good but it's not hard. It is not difficult to do and you more than likely will not have to have parts replaced because it's all metal. But that's for those people who want to do this but may not have the budget for the more expensive modern sewing machines
