I'm new to sewing and this was very helpful, thank you! Video series recommendation: how to fit bottoms!! I'm trying to make dress pants and I have problems with fitting crotch area (I feel like a lot of newbies have problem with that)

Hi! I’m trying to make a skirt from scratch and am trying to put darts in the back. Could you make a video describing how I do that- and what measurements to use, how big the darts should be etc? Thanks so much!
I made a video on how to draft a skirt block that should help! You can also make it without darts and try it on then pinch out the excess to create your darts.

Hi dear, first of all thank you for the tutorial. It's really helpful. I was wondering how big the dart has to be?/1inch or 2?
It completely depends on your body! In general, the curvier you are the bigger your darts will need to be.
So I actually watched that dart sewing tutorial (the one you've linked at the end of the video) before finding this video- For that 2nd method, do you sew from the notches directly to the punch hole or dart point? And from there, When we sew upwards along the fold, where do we stop? Thank you for the lovely video!
In the second method, I'm sewing to the punch hole, then sewing along the fold for 1/2" to reach the dart tip. Sorry, I know in that video it's a little hard to see!

"Stretchy fabric don't require darts." Wellllll I still need to alter my stretchy stuff with darts to make it fit nicely 😅 especially in the front of the armhole with sleeveless garments (it always gapes at my bust). For my own sewn things but also store-bought... Always such a hassle!!
Yeah I simplified for the video bc I was rambling lol Even when I worked at dance wear company, we had to use darts on knits if they weren't super stretchy!
@@TheAwlNighter1 Omg I am happy to hear it's not because I have a weird body shape or something haha none of my friends need to do this. Loved the explanation tho! Your other dart video has been such a game-changer for me. I am self-thought on a supercheap Singer machine haha most of the time I "MacGyver" my stuff into being wearable but that one made things a bit more profesh!
