Great wee video, made the event look awesome. Working on my Ultramarines recently, really enjoying the various ways you can build an army list, at this scale it just looks epic! Really like your Blood Angels, the aerial assault detachment with 5 Thunderhawks looks class.

I have that exact tank, yes it's a demolisher. Mine also has the side sponsor plasma cannons. Those metal guns make it very front heavy, I hope you glued in so counterweights.

I have been playing since RT. Every time i hear "Warhammer is an expisive hobby" I cry. It wasnt always that way. You walk in to a story and be given a free codex or 40%.

So my space marine chapter takes a lot of influence from Halo, and I stylized my Lone Operative Lieutenant as Noble 6, making him with a stalker bolt rifle/combiPlasma and a regular intecessor helmet. I’m skipping on the tyranid details. Noble 6 was a headhunter (before the events of Halo Reach) and would be sent out alone to kill targets. He and the Master Chief are the only two Spartans on record to get rated “Hyper lethal” against Covenant forces. I’m probably going to base some it with bits from my tau (which I stylized sorta like the covenant, purple armor instead of Farsight red)

I do understand 3D printing, there’s things you just cannot get for love or money, or you can get for enough money you could get a good % of an army from. I like having the real deal, I like everything being right and correct but when that is impossible people are like water, chose the path of least resistance to get what they want and another printer gets sold. Hell, my demons of malice don’t exist but if I wanted them, I’d have to hire someone to design and print but would be faster then hoping GW will make it for me

10000% we should be printing more. GW are super overpriced, if they were sensibly priced they'd fail as a business due to how inefficient they are as a business.

3d printing is a hobby in itself, and can incur costs that far exceed one of the resin options from FW. I don't mind proxies, alternative sculpts, or custom minis, and I LOVE kit-bashing and converting. However, I've owned 3 (2 resin and 1 filament) printers and all have failed me in different ways. Between purchasing the printers, consumables, and tools, I could have purchased 2 new armies (or 'almost' a Warlord Titan...) Now, I may just have horrible luck with technology and dice rolls, but I'm not the only one, and that means printers still need to advance a bit more before mass acceptance.

I feel printing is fine as proxy, there is always an intended use case scenario for each piece, and there are different settings where 3d printed models are appropriate. I can't support the distribution methods, fomo, scalpers, drip feed of releases, when there are more producers of models than there ever has been before. I will most likely always keep up to date with the current rule sets and still more than likely buy games workshop products, but I've reached a point in my hobby experience where I don't need to buy a lot to be able to field 2000 points of legitimate games workshop models. I'm going to explore more options, and field other units that I'm interested in trying out before I purchase them, and work on older hobby projects that I've always wanted to work on and because of limited supply of models, I'm able to just print more of what I'm interested in putting together. I find more enjoyment from the hobby as a second hand hobbyist and to be able to take older out of print models and give them new life with 3d printing, reusing older models and cutting down on wasted opportunities, I get to hobby how I want.

3D printing is definitely part of the reason GW is trying to diversify the IP beyond tabletop gaming, aside from all the untapped money being left on the table. They must realise that at some point, someone will produce a 'dumb' 3D printer with all the positives and none of the drawbacks that keep the hobby from truly going mainstream. At that point no one is going to be willing to pay £35 - £45 for a box of plastic. Not when they could print out an entire army for the same price in resin. This is where GW's fixation on profit ahead community good will is going to very much bite them in the arse. But, again, I think they know that and that's why they're racing against time to monetise the IP outside of the hobby.

I really appreciate that you're pushing yourself and setting a high bar for your work, but your NMM needs more practice TBH. The placement and contrast of the highlights could have used more refinement and the yellows you chose were not the best to convey golden metal. More brown tones were needed instead of ultra bright yellow.

I don't get it. Are all the harsh comments a 40k thing? I know nothing about warhammer, but came here for the oil painted miniature (yep, I misread the channel name as Hobby With Oil). Despite my embarrassing illiteracy, I enjoyed my time here, and I think that the finished model, the sword in particular, looks stellar!

It looks really good but for gold non metallics I suggest a yellowish brown colour on the darker parts
