- This week Oli paints the biggest nerd in all of the Leviathan planetfall squad: The Terminator Librarian. This bookworm clad in Terminator armour has some really interesting details and effects in addition to a list of grudges that would make a Votann proud.

Since you use pink to turn yellow into an orange shadow, you should probably use red to turn the blue into a dark purple shadow. I've also used green to turn the blue into a more of a jade shadow as well. Though I generally don't underpaint. I just paint the shadow the color I want to begin with, heh.
I'd definitely be more punctual returning my books if my librarian was wielding an axe...
1:10 - The Ultramarines are all closet Lamenters trying to escape their stupendous bad luck: Confirmed.
Deeplore confirmed
Red under blue
You have to try oil wash for the lining, can get a black (or white) colour that flows perfectly especially if it's glosscoated (I do it for adding decals anyway)
Awesome paint job!
Thanks so much!
Just use a black oil wash. If you're allergic to using oils for some reason, a black acrylic ink or Proacryl's black wash are your best choices.
The reason blue doesn't take to underpainting as well as yellow is because it's a darker more pigmented colour.
Pink looks great under yellow in the shadows as it becomes a burnt umbery orange and the white zenithal goes the colour of the yellow.
If you went for a very light pale blue over a yellow shadow and white zenithal it would be pale blue in the white bits and a teal/turquoisy green colour in the shadows, depending on the warmth/coolness of the yellow base colour.
Sweet librarian
Hi Oli, seems like you had the idea right for your terminators, but the process a little out of order. At @0:14, it looks like you primed in white, did a zenithal of pink, and then basecoated in yellow. If you're following the Goobertown Hobbies process of using pink to prime, layering a contrast/speed paint over pink will turn it an orange/brownish color. This is great for the recess areas, but not great for the main parts of the armor. I'd suggest priming in pink, and then doing a zenithal highlight of white from above, or drybrushing in white for a slapchop-esque process. The Painting Phase has a great video on the different variations of painting yellow czcams.com/video/rwnFf-KlykI/video.html
For the Librarian, blue paints have a much more opaque pigment, so painting blue over a lighter color, like yellow, is going to cover it. A more extreme example would be painting black over white, and wondering why the white doesn't show up.
Looking forward to the video where you paint the Lamenters. I'm painting my Leviathan marines as Imperial Fists, so I can't wait to see your final product!
Excellent comment Darth Infamous, thank you for your assistance! Also thanks for keeping the rebel scum in check 😉
Red under blue dude try it
intriguing! future video perhaps...
