  • It's a new year and the start of a new series here on Hobby With Oli. This week we'll be looking at AK Panel Liners, how to use them, their pros and cons, and whether I think they're worth your hard earned hobby dollar.
In Hobby Level Up I try out a new product or technique to learn all about it, and practise with them to see if we can get enough experience for a Hobby Level Up!

Nice tip with the gloss. Helps newbies avoid the mistake of having to strip back the entire model if their panel liners go tits up.

You can also buy and mix your own enamel paints to get colors you like, I work with solvent paints heavily in my scale modeling hobby and if you wnat a specific color you can just buy a few enamel mini pots from someone like testors or tamiya and then mix your own panel liners with white spirits. you can even premix and store them

Panel liners are game changers. I use the Tamiya because they come with awesome
Little brushes built into the caps (just like their plastic glue) and it makes it extremely easy to apply. I use the deep brown for rust buildup, and the orange-brown for Imperial Fist (or any yellow painted model) grime
