Correction: Save files had been invented by the time the original NES Zelda came out and weren’t the norm until the late 90s. The only possible reason why they didn’t implement save files in Sonic 2 was either because 1. They didn’t give a shit, or 2. They didn’t have time to implement it.

Do enemy cards technically count as cards in your deck? I only ask because cards like Darkside would actually trivialize most late game fights; copying Larxene and Axel’s enemy cards grants immunity to lightning and fire, basically removing any threat those bosses pose. Really cool challenge run regardless!
