@@disc5035 the mission was not "indiscriminately murder as many octolings, especially those of high power, as possible," it was "stop the octarian threat" which was achieved until dj octavio escaped the snow globe.
I didn't think "Tactical Amogus Painting" would be a strategy used in this run, but hey, here we are.

when i did the level "that sinking feeling" i actually... played it wrong [per se] and finished it the first time. i literally avoided all of the enemies and didn't fire a single shot on my first try-- meanwhile, my boyfriend had so many attempts it hurt. i told him my strategy and he tried it and it worked... it was genuinely really funny

@@Ag3nt-MC i dont think theres a "wrong" way per se-- but i dodged all of the shots and ran through fire instead. i lured enemies and lost them around objects so they didn't spot me anymore and "forgot" so they'd stop attacking me, etc. it worked wayyyy better than trying to actually conserve ink! i stopped thinking about using it altogether and just brute forced my way through and it was surprisingly much easier than when i saw someone trying to do it the normal way [i.e shooting shots but trying to keep your ink usage low] :)

I like how she always uses 'you' or 'your' as though anyone else would *WANT* to do something like this.
My sibling actually gained the ability to move without shooting the first tutorial balloon on their first playthrough, similar to how you did in the first game. I still have no idea how but that should mean it's possible.

@@Gamechamp3000 can dirty switch carts (the golden bits specifically) affect the functionality of the game?
@@tylern6420 I don't think so, if anything the most specific it could get would be making specific stuff crash when you tried to load it.
I'm basing this off of a copy of Mario Party 7 I had as a kid that worked most of the time, but got a small scratch in it that caused the game to specifically crash if Bowser tried to load a multiplayer Bowser minigame.
@@tylern6420 The Switch does too much verification to carts, you'd just get an "an error has occurred, please reinsert the cart" screen
When I took my own run through the game I was actively trying to figure out how you’d handle a minimal shot challenge. Needless to say this entire video was an endless train of disbelief at the depraved lengths you can go to save one measly shot.

For anyone questioning why GameChamp was referring to an elephant at the end of the video, she was referring to Inner Agent 3 Minimum Shot.

When I fought DJ Octavio in my own playthrough I was very disappointed to realize you would need to shoot to beat him, though your strategy was way way cooler than a real boss fight

You can work around the opening screen by getting a connection error (such as by keeping the device in sleep mode for a minute) which’ll then return you to splatsville as you normally would.

I think an interesting challenge would be seeing how many power eggs you need to simply complete the story mode. No 100%, just get from start to finish, and how long that would take.

10 minutes in and I'm already contemplating what a Minimum Shots Speedrun Category would look like. Safe to say it I currently envision it as psychological torture!

I would love to see a speedrun of a min shot run, although the Alterna Hub would probably be pretty dull unless they were willing to sacrifice a shot.

technically, all of the octo expansion levels can be completed by using's Marina's skip test. You would get faded mem cakes, but you wouldn't need shots!
Iirc, it doesn't count for completion, since you didn't beat the level, you skipped the level. It also doesn't unlock IA3.

If you stand still for long enough (yes, even in roller melee mode) you slowly regain some ink.
The platform moves backwards towards an inkroller. There's no time to use it

Another day, another Bizarre and difficult challenge endured for personal pride
March 2023 Edit: After alternas grind section should be even harder now because devs increased the white ink frames on burst bomb.
You know what? I was actually going to avoid watching any videos on Spoon 3's Story mode in favor of playing it myself, but when Gamechamp-Sama's doing a 55-minute challenge run about it, I immediately went "Oh no, I *cannot* miss this!"
I'm so happy you're back. I needed a fun new challenge to watch.
Somehow, a lot of challenge runners either take themselves super seriously or not seriously enough.

I stopped watching the video to go do After Alterna on my own, so I wouldn't get spoilers. It took a couple hours. The fact I remembered to come back speaks to the quality of your work! Always happy to have a new Gamechamp video around!!!

Congrats on this run. I remember trying my own shotless run but eventually just gave up on it. I don't think there's anything I did that wasn't already covered in this video anyways other than me attempting to do the shotless run with every weapon available for a full 100%.
35:53 this level took so much time just to do it with the Tri Stinger that I gave up, cannot imagine how it went for you going shotless
side order minimum shot routing is gonna be a nightmare much less execution

I've been waiting for this!! I did start watching the first part of Nate's video when it came out, but admittedly I stopped mostly because I knew it wouldn't be as good as your run if/when you did it. I don't think ANYONE else is insane enough to do VG Myths as well as you do
