I can't believe Ratchet was canonically atomised by a faulty teleporter.
That does seem pretty on-brand for this series.
Fortunately, he wasn't. Size Matters and Agent Clank are considered non-canon, which is understandable for the second, but there isn't actually anything that contradicts the first from what I remember.

I didn’t know there was a PSP TRILOGY of Ratchet & Clank games. But can you really blame a Nintendo-centric person for that? Good to know that Size Matters is considered the worst, though. If I ever get the chance to play the Trilogy, I’ll be sure this is the first entry I play.

Same, its the only Ratchet and Clank game I've played, besides the newest one, I loved this game back then.

When I was younger, my family lost our home in a flood, so I was basically playing this game over and over again for an insane amount of time; I really wish I had owned Dissidia at that point instead, or that we didn't live a block away from the river.
Both of those are obvious in retrospect, I suppose.
I at least hope you've played Dissidia by now. That game's genuinely fantastic

@@johnstrife7 It's not bad or anything (except the final boss on NG+ being literally impossible) but also not great, tho most people pretty much only played the very bad PS2 port and expect the PSP version to be the same...

Secret Agent Clank at least has some novelty; Size Matters is just shitty.

That made me do a double take, as I thought that I managed to miss a Ratchet and Clank game on PSP, I'm pretty sure that Gamechamp was just joking. There are only two Ratchet and Clank games on PSP.

I'd assume the joke is that the third game is Jak and Daxter: The Lost Frontier. It was by the same developers and had quite a few similarities. And I thought Secret Agent Clank was the worst.
Fun fact: In Size Matters NG+ you get access to two new armor types and with a correct armor set you get a wrench that one shots pretty everything

This was the first R&C game not made by Insomniac, which is why it sucks so much compared to the others.
I didn't even know this game existed before now. The armor sets seem like an interesting idea, most Ratchet and Clank games just give better armor that doesn't do much but keep you alive longer, so that's a feature I wouldn't mind see return in other games.
I had so few games on PSP that I actually attempted that wrench challenge myself at the time.
Congrats on keeping your sanity, I remember the electrified guys and the Ratchet clones making me pull my hair off.

As soon as she started talking about how it was poorly received, it finally clicked after not playing it for 10 years that it's an awful game. I still love it nonetheless.
On one hand, nothing about it works that well and the enemy AI is worse than the first R&C. On the other hand, I could play Ratchet and Clank on road trips so...

I played this game, but got stuck at one planet, so I replayed the arenas and never beat the game lol
@@underthebleachers7057 Which is odd since other PSP games feels as good as the console counterparts. I was playing one of the God of War games on PSP and felt exactly like the main games.
Worst part of rift apart is that it’s capped at 9,999,999 bolts, not worth replaying the game 😞

Gamechamp out here forgetting that: 1) there were only 2 ratchet psp games and 2) secret agent clank exists.
Sure it was rougher around the edges than the mainline games, but the fact that you could play this on the go in 2007 was mind-blowing.
For context, this was out at the same time as Nintendogs and that one Mario and Luigi game.

Was "mind-blowning" just because was an handheld Ratchet game, nothing else. The game was bad but everyone just loved it.
Also, it came out one year after Daxter, which literally destroys it in every aspect.

Ah, Size Matters... I never made it through the dream sequence. It set off some difficult to explain deep-seated phobia I have. I was literally shaking trying to get through it.
That level was pretty unnerving to be honest. The part that discomforted me the most was the Qwark plants. Those were horrifying to me for some reason
Another reason why this Ratchet give me a strange and confused feeling when I was kid, it was everything so off, bizzare, uninspired. Not just the dream part. A whole bunch of idiotic and bad ideas to find an excuse to came out with a game.
Clearly shows how can a gmae turns out if the people behind it were others. Ironically, High Impact Games, the responsabiles behind this joke of a game, were former members of Insomniac and Naughty Dog!

The psp is the only PlayStation thing I ever had, so this is the only Rachet and Clank game I’ve ever played and I love it with all my heart, come at me haters
You could play the whole original trilogy on that thing, that is no excuse.

@@soulslikefan6760 No you can't, the PSP is still weaker than PS2 while all the PS2 Ratchet games were specifically made with PS2 hardware in mind so much that porting those to PS3 became a development nightmare.

You know, if Clank's hands are legally wrenches since he's a machine, then every machine is legally a wrench. All the non-wrench items in the game are machines. Therefore every item is allowed.

7:26 Based on other R&C games, the bombs are designed to target where the player will be if traveling in their current direction and at their current speed. Running in a wide circle usually causes the projectiles to end up missing you entirely.
This game was my childhood, never thought I'd see it again, never beat it though because I got stuck but never got bored.

Size Matters for the PSP is the only Ratchet and Clank game I've ever played. My parents got it for me for Christmas and I didn't think it was that bad. Seeing you berate it though is making me want to play other titles in the series now, just to see what I was missing out on. Any suggestions?
Rac 2, 3 and a crack in time are great/fantastic games and are considered the peaks of the series, they can mostly be played in any order you want, also loads of people seem to love rift apart too.
Rac 1, deadlocked, tools of destruction, nexus and the 2016 remake are good games but have a few real problems (especially the remake), so there's a fair chance you won't care for them.
Play the other games if you become a fan and are a bit desperate for more rac games or if they look like the type of thing that interests you

For some reason gamechamp3000's videos give me nostalgia for Saturday morning cartoons except they're on Sunday and they're not every week 😁. These are great and I will continue to watch them as they show up.

I have a sneaking suspicion that Gamechamp isn't a huge fan of this game.
Gamechamp, you likely don't remember me, but I commented on the Stubbs the Zombie video saying that seeing your pronouns is what started me realizing that I'm trans myself, and I'm happy to say that several months later, I'm probably the happiest I've ever been, I'm out to everyone at school, even to my parents, and while they're gonna need some times, they are supportive. I've been able to do various affirming things and I'm so much happier with myself, and so much kinder to myself than ever. Thank you, Gamechamp, keep up the wonderful cheese I mean work.
