2024 now. 44 years since this interview, nothing has changed. But it seems like Vidal was still hopeful at this point compared with his later interviews. Also he’s quite giddy in this interview. In a way im glad that he’s passed and not have to live through the shit we’re dealing with now.

Dear Sir, Gore Vidal. (Hail Ceasar!!) This is now 2024. It is Tough These Days: In reply to the request to send a check I wish to inform the Federal Government of my bank account condition makes it is almost impossible. My battered federal account is one due to county laws, brothers, state laws, sister-in-laws, asicine cousins, so called friends and outlaws. Though these outdated laws that continually change to suit the benefits of greedy politicians and corporations, privatized enterprises here in America. I am compelled to pay a business tax, school tax, head tax, income tax, furniture tax, excise tax. I am required to get a business license, car license, operators license, truck license, not to mention a marriage license and a dog license. I am also required to contribute to every organization which the genius of man is capable of bringing to life, to woman's relief, the employed relief, and the gold digger's relief. Also, to every charitable institution in the country, including the Salvation Army, Red Cross, Community Chest, Purple Cross, double cross, Boys Scouts, Girl Scouts, Sea Scouts, Jaycees, YMCA, YWCA, as well as a way stations for wayward girls and boys, Boy's Ranch and Boy's Town. For my own safety. I am required to carry health insurance (what insurance?), life insurance, fire insurance, and earthquake insurance. Who is capable of owning a home today with inflation so high?( only the wealthy) In America today we have outhoused millions and we still have homelessness in all our street corners in all our cities, mental illnesses have rapidly grown and America has the highest suicide rates of all countries including our veterans and even young children. Murders have grown, no gun control laws stil not implemented on purpose with the NRA leading that cause. Gore Vidal, you exposed all this many times. Why did not anyone heed your calling? My business is so governed that it is not an easy task to who actually owns it. I have beed dejected, rejected, disrespected, informned, fined, required, summoned and compelled until I have provided in an exhaustive supply of money for every need, desire, or hope of the human race. (I am not a self-interested person. I do my best to help others. Be kind to one another. Isn't this what causes religious divisions? Even there is in the Hindew faith , a section of it, one can be an atheist. There have been many atheist who have ad a moral compass. Wars for profits, Wall Street Banks, money laundering? Just a few examples as you have fully explained in all that you have written with a flare of history of centuries and American history, world histories with great style, wit, satire, and knowledge with wisdom. If you were alive today, I can only tell you honestly that, except for a miracle, I could not enclose this check. The wolf that comes to many doors nowadays just had pups in my kitchen. I sold them and I still won't send the money. Pick me up and carry me to our privatized prisons that has made billions off mostly black, poor Mexicans, and poor whites, all of us mixed races too. Slave labor. Are we still slaves? You bet your britches. Remember Karl Marx had to sell his pants to continue writing he was so poor in England. Hollywood is Hoolywired now. Actually, as you have written, it has always been like that. It has now grown devastatingly downhill with all that is happening in America now. Remember what they did to Charlie Chaplin and many others? You are now explaining in rigorous detail because you were there. I will continue to write about all this in another letter. Sincerely, me.

What an inspiration he made in my young life. Long live Gore Vidal. He will never fade from history. Ultimately, he made history laugh at itself. Smeared it right in people's faces. Yes, sir, Mr. Gore Vidal, the big bang. WOW 🌟 What a great play with great actors. The good ole NY Times, again this is 2024 oh, what a stinker of a paper. The Masons? Many presidents have been Masons. That came over from Europe also. They were originally craftsman and built grand cathedrals which took hundreds of years to build, Notra Dame, for example. They had to understand geometry, who the original thinker of geometry? Now that building in Washington D.C., that is another quite long story. Masonic lodges, north and south in America. Both of my brothers were Masons. One brother was very intelligent and had a photographic memory and could have risen high up to the 33rd parallel, but he quit. My other brother not so smart for he had bad eyesight since he was a child. He remained in the Masons much due to my distress for my cousins who were women who became members of the Eastern Star. Both my brothers were much older than me. One brother was in the Bay of Pigs, the other brother was on the USS Liberty Navel Ship AGTR-5, 1967 6-day war, The Johnson Administration and Israelis lied about the ship. Scotland also had a very interesting history with Masonic Lodges. (Nothing secret about it) The Masons remain strong in the South, believe me,

Myra Breckenridge , Gore Vidal wrote in 1968, social satire the mulibilty of gender rolls and sexual orientation as social being social constructs established by social mores. "The City and The Pillar" gay and bio-sexual, 1948. A literary political & moral sensibilities of conservative book revueweis. The plot being male homosexual relationship. Subsequently, there is no need to write down what Gore Vidal wrote. Indeed we know here.

I found what I wrote down lower. I love Gore Vidal. Also, if I may add President Theodore Roosevelt lost his first love and went out west and he discovered the love of the wilderness and hunting. In later years he created the Yellowstone National Park. Other biographies said he might have been bio-polar, he has so much energy and gift of for writing. Now, what books did he write? The Empire and The people, chpater 12 in Howard Zinn's, " A People's History of the United States. Theodore Roosevelt wrote to a friend in the year 1897: "In strict confidence... I should welcome almost any war, for I think this country needs one." Expansion was not a new idea. Even before the war against Mexico carried the United States to the Pacific, the Monroe Docrrine southland into and beyond the Carribean. Issued in 1823 when the countries of Latin America winning independence from Spanish control, it made it to Euopean nations that the United States considered Latin America were winning independence from Latin control, it was made plain to Euopean nations that the United States considered Latin America it's field of influence, not long after, some Americans began thinking into the Pacific: Hawaii, Japan, and the great markets of China. General Smedley Buter, " War is a Racket," The United Fruit Company, now Chiquita Bananas. Remember when President Theodore Roosevelt wanted to run again for President and he went to Cuba to fight, he was running on different party " The Boor Party, " He said he won in Cuba, but he did not. General Joe Wheeler that served in the Confederate War was in Cuba. May Gore Vidal RIP 🙏 ❤

Also, Jimmy Carter was Gore Vidal's 5th cousin. Nina Acuincloss- (half-sister), Hugh Steers, (half- nephew), Beer Sterrs,( half -nephew). Gore Vidal was the chairman of the People's Party, Nov.7, 1972. Service in the United States Army, 1943-1946. His political & cultural essays were published in the Nation, The News Statesman, The NY Review of Books and Esqiuire Magazine, on sex, politics & religion turned to quarrels with William F Buckley. I have all his novels he ever wrote. It is unnecessary to write them here.

Both were absolutely delightful in every word spoken and written by them. Full of knowledge, wit, wisdom and satire. One knows they are in heaven together and laughing, asking each other, "What the hell are we doing here here?"(lol). Looking down upon us both replied, "Hell is definitely alive and doing well on earth still. Washington D.C. has gotten worse. Those damn corrupt politicians and corporations. Capitalism isn't doing so well." All is forgiven. They are truly missed. The contemporary he described would be the one to usher in shortly the TSA, Patriot Act, and Citizens United, and the bailout of every bank’s indiscretions.)…A very correct take on James Baldwin, with a perfect use of mercurial. 2:52:23 How does Vidal not even know the name Zinn!
