I got one of these a few yrs back. Took it back, because (as you summarized) it’s a nice little practice amp, but not feasible for gigging (ie, trio and up). Has a good “jazz” tone, but not much beyond that (and, horrible reverb). I think you nailed it here, Tina👍😁.

Don’t laugh but if you want a 40 watt 10 inch Bugera speaker transistor small combo with real spring reverb that is surprisingly great for jazz, check out the ridiculously cheap but fantastic sounding Behringer HA-40R. Believe me it sounds terrific for jazz both on the clean channel and with a touch of gain to fatten the sound on the overdrive channel, which has master volume. It has a 3 band EQ and both phones and line out. It is very Fender voiced and originally I thought it was a bit bright, but once I figured out the EQ and ran the tone pot on my guitar around 2, it sounded great. It also does creditable blues rock too if that is needed. It is definitely worth a punt at its low price and the spring reverb is so sweet compared to these horrid digital ones.

As a blues player, anything designed for Jazz, suits me for clean blues. Emm, Maybe a Roland 22 over this!

What are the big benefits of having a freeze pedal for practicing purposes? Is it a must have?

I have one, couldn't be happier for a jazz tone on my guitar. Pros: price (mine 350€ in 2020), solid state, cristal sound, clean headroom, light weight, three band EQ. Perfect amp at home, also gigable for small venues. Cons: reverb, but if you only need a touch, let's say till 4, It works properly. At a higher range It sounds more like a chorus or delay, undesirable. However, who needs a lot of reverb on a jazz guitar tone? No sense. For crunchy, bluesy tone I use a different little tube amp. So, definitely not for a scofieldesque use!

I love that little guy! I've got one too (mine is black), I've played it side by side, for comparison, with my favourite amp of mine: the Yamaha T 100 C (100 W all tube amp, 1x12) that I have since the 90's and I've got it to sound so close I almost couldn't tell the difference! Very warm and clean, like you said. 7 Kg, is still lighter than my Polytone Megabrute (10 Kg) that I once put inside a sports bag with a strap and carried by bycicle (not that I'd recommend carrying amps by bycicle, though) 🙂

I need this amp!

I have this amp. It is an amazing amp for its size and for the price. The sound is warm and sweet. it is fairly light. I use a small luggage rack when I carry it though. I take it with me to my lessons and classes. The spring reverb is decent when kept low in the mix. It doesn't have enough power for most gigs, at least for me. It sounds a bit warmer than my Heinriksen Bud amp out of the box. The bud has much more power and is more versatile though. My Bud with my pedalboard sounds much better than the Little Jazz, but the Bud is about three times the price and considerably heavier. This amp is a great value and I'm very happy with it.

I played through the 12 inch version at a jam in a medium large restaurant venue & was very impressed by the tone & clean headroom. With my Epiphone ES 175. Thanks for the heads up on the reverb.

I have a Gibson ES 335 - would you say that buying this guitar would be worth it as a replacement?

This is the song Pat metheny tries to peek, build up, litterally ejaculate during this guitar solo. This is Pat methenys facial expression during guitar solo playing live. I cant describe it anyway else. I forget what Pat calls it. A zone when he feels like he knows exactly what to play (Before you play but plenty of time to do so?) Your ahead of it.. . But Pat metheny already knows his fretboard backwards sideways, upside down. Ahead of time, time to play whatever you hear in your head on spot. Astronomical

I have a choice es335 and a recently-bought Sire H7v which is more-or-less an es335 with P90s - but much cheaper so I can play it at bar gigs without worry. It's extremely versatile and build, fit and finish are top-drawer. £600.00 with a load of gold bling - handsome as Larry. I have no Ibanez guitars but I have huge respect for the marque and I wouldn't mind one of those for Christmas. Very nice video!

I have the black JSM-20, which is built out of linden. I love the tone, but the wood is soft and dings easily. I love how the front pickup has it’s own selector switch between humbucking or single coil - very useful. I love the neck! I added a Deusenberg tremolo, which works great. I use a Line 6 Pod Express on the clean setting which is super. All in all, a great work horse. I play out with it all the time. I also have the Pat Metheny PM2AA, which I also love. Ibanez makes fantastic guitars!

I have my 1981 AS 200 for over 40 years. Still my best guitar. The pickups are great for every style. It rocks like nothing else and can be smooth if you need it. Many Gibsons not even come close. Add a very goood strat to your collection and you are imho prepared for every task.😊
