Hey Tina, thanks a bunch for the awesome lesson! A quick story: I practiced "All of Me" for a whole month and decided to give it a shot at the local jazz jam. It was wild! I knew the host, so I took charge and called out my tune. But when it was my turn to solo, total blackout. I don't even remember what happened. Next thing I know, the keyboard player smoothly takes over, gives me a nudge to stop playing chords(I was probably messing up his solo), and that's a wrap! 🤦♂ Anyway, I don't know what the moral of the story is here. I think it is - you have to play with other musicians to get better at playing with other musicians. Practicing alone and playing with other people are completely different things.
Thank you so much for sharing this story! i am sure many people can relate! i really think you are very courageous to go and put yourself outside! congratulations!!😍
In my younger years I was afraid of a lot of situations, not only in music. One book changed my life: "Feel the Fear and do it anyway" written by Susan Jeffers. The most important message: Don't wait for the fear to go away. It wont. Learn to accept your fear and do the things you want to do. - And my experience is: When doing that - the fear gets lesser and lesser until it goes away. (Don't worry, it will be back when trying new things - but it is much easier to overcome) - Ich denke, das Buch gibt es auch auf Deutsch. Grüße aus der Pfalz, GH
Hello Tina Thank you for this valuable video. That's exactly how it is: you come back from a jam and want to throw your guitar out the window. I'm going to practice more of this "boring" stuff now. 12:00 min. Made my day! P.S. Nice to see your Ibanez AM50 again. :) :)

What chords did you play to comp him? Keyboard players mostly comp on their own
