The Final Ride. Farewell Algeria
Cycling the world - Europe: 159 episode
In the eighth episode of my bikepacking journey in Algeria, part of my endless cycling adventure around the world, I leave the wild camping spot in the hills of Oran where I had to relocate for safety the previous night. Overwhelmed by the size of Oran, I decide to continue cycling towards Mostaganem. My last night in Algeria is spent camping in an olive farm under the cover of darkness. The next day, I embark on the final stretch to Mostaganem and take the ferry back to Valencia. Join me as I conclude my Algerian adventure.

It was a great experience but I didn’t have the chance to go deeper as I only had 3 weeks visa. For example in Morocco I stayed 4 months. Incredible hospitality and cheap food is definitely a plus. From a riding point of view it was quite challenging finding dirt roads but perhaps if I had planned the itinerary I would have been less surprised. Hopefully the cycling community in Algeria will start mapping out bikepacking route making them available for anyone to enjoy. The only real negative is the comments to the videos 😅 I had to filter them, it’s such a shit show.
