if im going to build a custom ti frame & geo, id go with Caad12/Supersix geometry but with thru-axles & threaded bottom bracket (maybe t47)🔥 mechanical ultegra, paul klampers/growtac equal and slap some Hunt or maybe Light Bicycle wheels on it too🤤

I had a TERN GSD gen 1 and now have a GEN 2. It’s a great bike. The children are bigger now but for 6 years they went to school on the back of the eBike. We still use it to drop the biggest one, who is 12 at the tram stop where she meets her friends. Get an eBike - they are fantastic.

I do not agree with his assessment of titanium as a frame material--some of ti's advantages are not just a matter of personal preference either. I own a ti frame hardtail 26er, and love it. The ride quality is great, but it is also very durable. My 20 year old frame is still pretty much like new, with zero corrosion, or cracks, and will likely last until I'm gone.Carbon cannot match that kind of longevity. Also, it is competitively light, as my bike weighs in at 21.5 lbs with an 80mm travel suspension fork. That fork does have a carbon crown and steerer.

Fantastic vid, I've been doing deep dive research over the past few weeks into the Tern GSD as we're seriously considering purchasing one here in New Zealand. Our situation will be precisely like yours in a couple of years in terms of our children's ages. This is by far the best video that I've seen for people living and using the Tern. Also, I did smile a bit when I saw what you view as a _steep hill._ I'm in Wellington, and those Melbourne "hills" are veritable mole hills. :) All the best to you and yours.

Just stumbled across this and wow that was fun to watch. As a seasoned cyclist if I were to do this I would separate the long/hard days and sprinkle in some easy/shorter rides between as recovery days. Well done Maven and your wife is amazing!!!

I agree wholeheartedly with you about this hike. I just did it (Feb-24). but started at the start of Daughtys Rd, and returned via Klinsbjorn. 1350m total climbing. You’re spot on the steep climb up and how hard the downhill is. Great vid, love the footage and the comments at the end.
