- This is footage from The Tour De France in 2017 which I recorded and never published online. I had the rare opportunity to ride on a moto with the media.

FWIW. I've been going through some old videos and found this one from inside the Tour De France pelo in 2017 when I was on the moto.
I've never published this publically until today.
Thanks for the footage! :)
oh, I remember seeing a video taken on the back of a motorbike with some interesting music...
Dude this is absolute GOLD!! 👌
The year two became three!
It was a fantastic time and great to be part of your journey!
Thank you. 🙏
Exceptional footage. The angle, height, everything is perfect. Telly does so many jump cuts, while this makes you feel like you are right there. Thank you, this made my day :) 2017 was a beautiful year.
Pretty cool footage, Mark. I’ve always been amazed that there aren’t more accidents involving the motos, team cars and officials cars. Pretty chaotic!!
They are truly professional drivers. When you see CZcams videos of guys riding their motorbikes or cars like this on the road, their skill usually runs out in 30 seconds 😂
I just love the sound of the bikes on the road. Great footage 👍🏻
Outstanding!! Loved it. I remember your coverage back then and it was the best I had seen. Keep it going Maven.
Thanks for sharing Mark - just beautiful stuff. (I even teared up a little bit seeing how things "used to be") Miss your regular vlogs but I know life moves on. All the best and glad you found this!
I love TDF and have for many years. As I watch this it’s a freezing cold Scottish Sunday afternoon and I can only but dream of the best three weeks in the year. Brilliant footage - massive thanks for posting it - chapeau Mark.
You were my 1st vlogger I ever followed on CZcams. Its awesome you are posting again. I wish you and the family well Mark. 🙏
from famine to surplus.... you are really spoiling us
I know with the hassle ASO gave you it was not the tour you wanted it to be. Surely though you cannot help but smile when looking back on days like these 🙌
Yeah mate, enough time has passed now and this was a pleasure to edit.
hidden gem, thanks!
Thanks for the video, It was really exciting watching your journey in Europe following the races !
Loved this, great perspective of the TdF that the we don't get to see. Also very interesting to see how the teams, their sponsors and the kits have changed in 4 years and, arguably, Marcel Kittels' best TdF performance before his retirement. Thanks for this!!
Absolutely fantastic footage! Enjoyed every minute of it. Great to just hear the wind rushing by with a bit of background radio commentary too. Really added to the atmosphere - no silly over the top music. Great stuff. 😁
Great footage Mark, you don't normally see it this close and from within the peloton 👍
Amazing view from inside the convoy. It’s amazing that there are not more accidents. Great to see you back 👍
Thanks for sharing this, Maven!
what an awesome experience - thanks for sharing it with us! I loved how you edited it too. 👏
What a flashback to the og vlog series.
Love the raw footage from the guts of the biggest race of the planet.
Amazing footage. Thanks for sharing!
Wow felt like I was riding in the Pelaton.
Great vlog.
This would be the highlight of my life sitting on this bike in the Tour. Wow what a great memory.
Thanks so much for sharing
WoW. That’s better than front row seat…you can sniff and hear everything. All the languages going on and the turmoil. Not much room for error with all these cars and bikes.
I’m sure you have lots of great stuff you haven’t had time to edit yet and even if not current it’s still brilliant content with your music etc.
Very cool !
Awesome video thank you for sharing your experience
This is great. Thank you for sharing
Very cool video, sometimes the struggle and challenges at the back of the race become more interesting than the front of the peloton action. Great work creating this video.
great footage, really enjoyed that
Epic, great behind the scenes view!
What a great video. Gave such an awesome insight into how huge the TDF peloton really is. And how unbelievably hectic and busy it is. Got anymore hidden gems on them hard drives pal?!
Brilliant video. Yep,the goings on at the back of the race sometimes more action packed than at the front. Have worked for couple of teams on the ‘Ras’..in Ireland. Sometimes feels like being in a rally car, with riders coming up through the cars, going off the back, crashes etc etc. Sometimes crazy stuff..
This is great. Can't believe you never posted it!
Fabulous, thanks for sharing it!! Two of my loves, both have 2 wheels!
Thank you Mark!!! Fantastic footage 😍 how the World tour has changed AND your life since then ….. Eh?👌🏻
What a great memory Maven . This was the year I found your channel and I binged the TdF Vids and so many others, I still revisit them . Sadly ASO really F5cked you over when you and Han went across, I like many others were right behind you with the Patreon support and would've loved to have seen 2018 TdF Insider stuff unfold along with the Giro and Vuelta, they won't give a toss but I'm sure it would've been an opportunity missed on their behalf with your Interviews and story telling . Brilliant Cheers Fatty.
Epic having you back brother.
Please come back soon with a new video! We need you!
Such a great glimpse into what goes on - it reminds me of some of the footage that Adam Blythe has captured from a moto this year… 👍
Loving the content bro......
Absolute legend!
Great video buddy, hope you are well buddy.
Brilliant stuff. But boy did that look dangerous at times. Way too many vehicles imho.
Incredible. More, please.
love this video
The peloton is like a singular living being.
Medical car driver job description: spend 3 weeks in the summer driving around France in a convertible watching the tour. Not a bad gig.
I initially watched this on my TV and can't see or make any comments on there. I thought it was 2017. Was that the year you two were over here for the Giro, the TDF and the Vuelta? I loved watched those vids and have watched a few of them again recently. Some good memories for you two... and me :-)
Thanks!
Amazing 👍
The algorithm is working mate, first video on my page was this one!
Sensational
Nice shot of Le Sticky Bottle \m/
Damn it's a race within a race!
What a freakin' journey
Thanks Mark...
Awesome footage, thanks for sharing 👍
ASO are dumb as heck. They hold back coverage of the TDF so much. Doing so just hurts the riders and sponsors because they get LESS exposure.
2017 was a great year for quality bikes! No rubbing pizza cutters and a new 6.8kg bike didnt cost $20000AUD!
Good work Mark! I reckon this is the best TDF POV Ive ever seen.
Agreeee
Wowwww
this is so fucking beautiful beautiful!
Still amazed that you were not allowed to publish footage like this back then. This is a completely different take on the TDF than any other media outlet was publishing. Love it.
You should have grabbed a feed bag and had yourself a little snack! 😂
Ah, rim brakes. Those were the days.
Excellent. Gotta have your wits about you
What happened to Orica Scott?
Became Bike Exchange
didn't see any disc brakes
go 2017 go
Not a disc brake in sight, just people living in the moment
1:07 why didn't he pass the empties back first, then take the full bottles and put straight in cage, trying to juggle the bottles all at once!
I’m guessing this was the finish coming into Pau? I see myself in the crowd. #softcogsontour #tourde40th #deavesnuts #softcogs
How lucky to follow a stage on the back of a moto.
i really hope that u r not the one block pogacar🙏
Not a disc brake to be seen. Durian would be happy....
You did lose a lot of subscribers there I see. Good luck Mark.
Wasn't it refreshing to see a #LOT of #RIM #BRAKE bikes, before the cycling industry bullied its way in with ugly disc brakes..... #RBFL
