Yes, that was shot like this in-camera with the Sony A7S3 Camera and a Tamron 28mm-75mm f2.8 Lens. Only did Color in Post, no artificial mask or blur added. Wide open it has a very narrow focus plane which was just perfect for this shot of the ants crawling in a line from side to side ^^ Some Ants that were a just a tiny bit further back (like on the top left) were out of focus already which is insane ^^

Honestly, I don't even use the Hawkeye Thumb at all anymore. You can see the picture quality on the bottom right in the Video, recorded with the Goggles DVR. BUT I had experienced the camera FREEZING while flying causing me to crash. It just stopped mid air. I CAN NOT and WILL NOT trust this camera ever again. Also, depending on the FoV you want to film at, you will have the same FoV while flying. With the wiedest setting it feels almost impossible to fly since it is such a wide angle. Oh, also the recorded Videos quality.. Well.. The more I used it, the less I used it, lets leave it at that.

@@Nupid_Stoob i think the deal breaker is when the camera freezes during flight. So what camera are you using now to record flight?

Before the winter break I was learning how to tune drones myself with blackbox logs. But if you don't wanna get into it yourself I can recommend the "Supafly" Presets in Betaflight. The preset itself will do wonders but if you want to get in a bit more dialed in check out his website and the guide on how and what to do :) supaflyfpv.com/betaflight-setup/

Depends on the situation. If it is still too bright on the lowest ISO and I want to keep shutter at double the frame rate, then yes, I'd use an ND Filter. Keep in mind, ND Filters are basically sunglasses for cameras (same principle/effect)

I'm ashamed to say that I didn't even fly it once since I built it (except for a test hover inside lol) also got a BRAND NEW prebuilt CineLog30 laying around gathering dust instead of creating some :D I haven't really been flying at all for like 1/2 year now. Winter weather and winter depression, also work and generally just life happening. Imma go out more often soon again. Weather is getting better and so is everything else in life again. :) Maybe I'll do a short Video out of it haha "Can I still fly FPV after half a year or will I crash miserably?" :p

I always used the 4K ultrawide-FOV setting on it (important to apply the correct lens profile in Gyroflow to "desqueze" the image!) with the flat color profile (color grading in post) I set shutter Speed to 1/60th with ISO to Auto (ideally set to constant value, but not easy to get right) I didn't really use ND Filters since I broke or lost them pretty quickly lol but ideally the brighter it is, the stronger ND you want to use. Think of them simply as sunglasses (bc thats what they are anyway) and try to get a feel for brightness and when to use them

I had that problem as well while flying lol and then complete blackout of the video feed. Don't know what exactly caused the freezing but I was playing around with settings at that time. Firmware Factory Reset fixxed the issues.. Haven't really been using it since though anyway..

It does record gyro data at 4K30fps but not at 4K50fps I shot in 16:9 The RAW Footage will look distorted anyway, it is important to correct it with a fitting lens profile in Gyroflow. Makes it look so much better. Have fun!

Sounds like your quad itself isn't very well tuned and vibrates a lot. But thats kinda expected if you freestyle alot lol Search for Gyroflow Guides and how to use it to get some stabilisation though!

Perfect for Indoors on 1S. On 2S it packs a punch dude You can even take it outside to race with it czcams.com/video/kAh9oZW7BRs/video.htmlsi=ccbSmHyFg9-ZcvzQ&t=44 I felt most comfortable flying that small 2S Whoop that day. 3S 3" and 4S 5" were to fast for me on my first "real" race experience outside the Sim with small gates. You can push it so hard and it takes crashes like its nothing!

How is the image quality in the DVR?

When I first got it and was using it with basically the stock settings everything was pretty okay in terms of delay. You could definitely notice it, nothing to really freestyle or race with but good enough to cruise for sure! Only thing to really bother me was the super wide FOV while flying. Once I tried to play around with the picture settings I only had problems with the Video lagging and COMPLETLY freezing after some time. Don't know which setting caused it but doing a reset fixed it. Haven't had much flight time with it tho and quad grounded rn. Arm broke (again) and I got no replacements anymore.. To be honest I don't trust it anymore to solely rely on as the flight cam but I"ll be running it just as a recording cam for fun, but nothing "commercial grade" or instagram worthy.

I don't teally time it but I'll get like 4-5min easily with a 550mah 3S LiPo. Maybe you could get a bit more flight time like a Minute by going with 650ish mAh batteries, dunno. Also depending on props and PID Tune a bit but 5min is easil achievable

Sorry can't remember the exact settings. But can't go wrong with locking the ISO at 100 and either fixxed shutter at 1/60 if you know what you are doing with the ND Filters or just leave it on Auto otherwise. I shoot with Flat Color and with Contrast, Saturation and Sharpness set to "Low" and getting the color back later when editing. For GyroFlow here is a basic preset on pastebin (You might want to look into how to use presets for GyroFlow): pastebin.com/ZYiBFBtH I have been planning a complete GyroFlow Guide as I understand it and use it but I just haven't come around to actually doing that. I'm new to gyroflow, mainly because I never actually post anything to youtube...or anywhere for that matter. 😅 but I have a few full sd cards, from my hero8, naked hero7, and thumb pro-w v2. I've got some really good DVR from my 04X, from some whoops that I finally started to put up a few months ago. I just want to do a huge video DUMP and try to break 10 subscribers haha. I didn't know there was pre-sets for gyroflow, I'm going to look into it. I'm definitely subscribed as of now, love the toothpick and thumb videos.

The BabyApe is a 3" but it would be no problem to go for 2.5" since it weighs only 16g I fly both 2S and 3S with it ^^

The TMotor 1404 4600 kv pulls around 20A on 4S under load. Thought I'd be in the clear with 2S - 3S. And everything worked fine untill the crash haha Well you live, you crash, you solder, you learn haha Got a 35A JHEMCU AiO now in it and it flies again. But you can feel how beat up that baby is now.. ^^
