    What PID settings do you use on the Baby Ape?

      Before the winter break I was learning how to tune drones myself with blackbox logs.
      But if you don't wanna get into it yourself I can recommend the "Supafly" Presets in Betaflight.
      The preset itself will do wonders but if you want to get in a bit more dialed in check out his website and the guide on how and what to do :)

    Awesome flight! You just used turtle mode to get it out of the tree? I had mine stuck high in a tree just a few days go, it was quite a headache to get it out ...

    • @Nupid_Stoob
      @Nupid_Stoob  Před rokem +3

      Yeah, but it took some time. It didn't come lose right away, I had to wiggle it in different directions before it got untangled. Took like 30s, that's why there's a cut.
      Wasn't the first time this happened though and probably won't be the last time :D just lucky I got them out with just turtle mode each time.

      You can build a DIY Throw Bag Launcher or DIY Tennisball Cannon by yourself, to get treestucking quads back.
      Enough tutorials, here on YT.

    This looks awesome! How difficult was it to solder the power cables of the thumb cam pro on the baby ape pro v2?

    • @Nupid_Stoob
      @Nupid_Stoob  Před rokem +2

      Ty!
      Not that difficult since it's only 2 cables (Ground + 5V) and the pads on the FC were pretty easily accesible.
      Just have patience and be carefull not to overheat the Board you are soldering to, use enough Flux so the solder will flow and not clump up and you should be good. Look for some soldering tutorials on YT and practice on some small electronics first if you are unsure about soldering anything to your drone potenitally ruining it. But should be easy to do :)

      @@Nupid_Stoob thanks for the tips! I've already ordered some practice boards. Still waiting on the flux, but can't wait to try!
      Btw, I saw you also have the thumb cam pro v2 with wider FOV, which one would you recommend? The v1 or v2?

    • @Nupid_Stoob
      @Nupid_Stoob  Před rokem

      @@kelvindeen I don't even have the Pro v1 but definitely get the v2. They always improve on something in each revision, so it would be best to buy the latest and greatest version.
      The Wide FOV is amazing but you need to run Lens Correction in Gyroflow at least. The RAW Footage is distorted as hell and you really NEED to get rid of it. Like 40% of the image is not even displayed in the RAW Footage :D
      And the best part is: exactly because of this "overshoot" on the edges it makes stabilising Footage sooo good since it can crop the sides as much as it wants to keep a steady frame lol

      @@kelvindeen Oh and some soldering tip: keep solder on your tip lol. You need to have a small amount of solder to transfer heat. The Iron will get hot, but the surface is not smooth. Molten Solder fills the gaps and makes heat transfer more efficient.
      When soldering, don't put a blob of solder on your iron. Touch your iron to what you want to solder and add solder to it directly or touch the iron and let it flow onto whatever you want to solder. There is a Flux Core in most solder. It will burn away pretty fast, so be quick and don't apply heat for too long.
      If flux has cooked out, put some ontop and re-heat for a short time.
      As for anything FPV related, check out our Lord and Saviour Joshua Bardwell :D
      He has a soldering Tutorial specifally for FPV Stuff

      @@Nupid_Stoob thankyou for the details!!
      This is definitely going to be my next drone and drone camera.
      And yes, Joshua is the best. I've been binge watching his videos lately to get to know as much as possible to know what I'm doing.
      Currently rocking the Mobula 7 HD 1S. I have a good sense of what the controls do through Liftoff and now flying the Mobula irl. Still figuring out if I like thumbing or hybrid more. Also experimenting with rates, that really is a bit of a hassle. But hey, ones I find rates I like I know I'll be a better pilot because of it.
      How did you figure out what you like and what rates suit you?

    Hi, how did you power the Runcam?

    • @Nupid_Stoob
      @Nupid_Stoob  Před rokem

      By soldering the 5V and Ground Wires (from the Plug that came with the Runcam) to open/unused pads on my flight controller. I removed the 2 other wires (TX and RX which could be used to switch recording on/off over Betaflight)

    ay brother how much flight time with the camera on?

    • @Nupid_Stoob
      @Nupid_Stoob  Před 9 měsíci +1

      I don't teally time it but I'll get like 4-5min easily with a 550mah 3S LiPo.
      Maybe you could get a bit more flight time like a Minute by going with 650ish mAh batteries, dunno. Also depending on props and PID Tune a bit but 5min is easil achievable
