- Would you guess that this Camera is only 15g and costs under 100$? Amazing little thing ^^
But I only use the wide FOV in 4K with this camera. Everything else it doesn't really do well so I don't even bother.
I'd like to film some higher framerate with this, but everything except 4K doesn't look very good. The tradeoff between framerate and image sharpness is to much, you'll lose so much detail even at 1080p/60 that it is just not worth it.

Great footage! I'm planing on getting this camera and a BabyApe II freestyle in a few weeks so nice to see other people with similar setups.

How do I get that image quality with my Runcam Pro? I put an ND32 filter on it, I set the camera to 4k 30fps - 1/60 - ISO 200, and I still can't get it to look this blurry when I fly close to the ground
What do you recommend me???😭😭😭

Are you using gyro flow to stabilize the footage?

This looks awesome! Are you just using the mount that comes with the camera? Looking at getting this same setup on my babyape
Yeah, using the basic stock mount that came with it. Unlike the ones that came with the OG Thumb, this one seems to hold up pretty well and seems durable. Didn't break yet, haha!
The mount even hast 3 holes where the 3rd lines up with a hole in the top plate (specifically for this mount I believe since the BabyApe v1 came bundled with a Thumb for some time) so theres that!
I only use the 2 "side" ones tho. Securing the 3rd could help with vibrations/jello though!
so stoked to see you running this on a 2.5". My parts started arriving for my 2.5".. I really want to pull the trigger on the runcam for it. Are you running 2 or 3s?
The BabyApe is a 3" but it would be no problem to go for 2.5" since it weighs only 16g
I fly both 2S and 3S with it ^^
Hey, did you change anything at the drone for example VTX odr antennas ?
As of now, everything is basically stock like it came when I bought it. Only swapped motors when they were broken (same ones, bought like 10 as replacement lol) and I had to replace the arms of the frame.
But for my Radio and Googles I have a selection of different kinds of antennas.
Maybe I'll change it up and replace stuff as it breaks haha

No I have it soldered to the Flight Controller. I removed the Tx/Rx wires tho because I don't need the functionality to start/stop recording with my Radio.

I was flying with an ND32 Filter and had the Settings on Auto except ISO locked at 100 and White Balance set to "Sunny".
The RAW Footage looked very red tho! Thats why I played around with Grading and Color Corection so much and thst is why thensecond half looks so different.
The second part of the Video was actually flown before the first one when the sun was higher. Still a heavy red tone, but I played around with making it look vibrant and funky :)
Camera Angle I have like 10-15° of uptilt matched to the FPV Cam which in the BabyApe v2 Frame sadly can't be more than this shallow angle.

No I didn't mod anything, my Lens is broken though and I should replace it.
Your comment just made realise it is actually possible to swap the Lens on it haha
I searched for Thumb Mods and saw people succesfully put in other Lenses. I"ll look into which will fit and what looks best to me and I might replace mine :D

@@neilfpv When you get it definitely try the 4K X-View Mode for shooting and play around with it in Gyroflow. This Wide FOV works so good with Gyroflow, if you get the settings right.

Could you share your settings for the camera? And the gyroflow settings?
Sorry can't remember the exact settings. But can't go wrong with locking the ISO at 100 and either fixxed shutter at 1/60 if you know what you are doing with the ND Filters or just leave it on Auto otherwise. I shoot with Flat Color and with Contrast, Saturation and Sharpness set to "Low" and getting the color back later when editing.
For GyroFlow here is a basic preset on pastebin (You might want to look into how to use presets for GyroFlow):

I have been planning a complete GyroFlow Guide as I understand it and use it but I just haven't come around to actually doing that. Stay tuned, maybe some day :D Otherwise I am sure there are plenty of resources anyway to help you out a bit more!

I'm new to gyroflow, mainly because I never actually post anything to youtube...or anywhere for that matter. 😅 but I have a few full sd cards, from my hero8, naked hero7, and thumb pro-w v2. I've got some really good DVR from my 04X, from some whoops that I finally started to put up a few months ago. I just want to do a huge video DUMP and try to break 10 subscribers haha. I didn't know there was pre-sets for gyroflow, I'm going to look into it. I'm definitely subscribed as of now, love the toothpick and thumb videos.

how did you power the camera?
It comes with a cable combo + plug
There were 4 wires (TX, RX, 5V and Ground)
I removed TX and RX from it since I do not use the feature to start recording over a switch configured in Betaflight.
I soldered the 5V and Ground to corresponding open/unused tabs on my fc and that's how easy it was ^^
There are ways to power the camera over a balance plug from the LiPo using an external 5V BEC tho like this:

how where is the 5v and ground, and will the led light connection work?
Check the manual of your specific flight controller and look for a wiring diagram.
@@Nupid_Stoob But you need a 4S Lipo for the camera. That's what they say in the video. And the baby ape pro flies with 3S. So I can't power them via the balancer cable, can I?
Stange spot in the center during all video, hmm..
The Lens is broken. Had a bad crash where the ND 8 Filter came off exposing the bare lens. Must have hit something while tumbling.
Tried to buff it out with Polywatch, but the crack goes deeeeeeep.
Sucks that it is there, but still okay imo
