I would love fusion360 instructions
Yes, more Fusion 360 design vids please!
Could have just swapped sides.
BOY are we GLAD you SAVED your MARRIAGE by 3D pRiNtInGNGNGNGN! Ugh... why must all video titles be like that these days *facepalm*
Cause no one clicks on, "3D Printed HVAC Vent Walk-Thru". This is my job, if your job depended on views, you'd make titles that caught attention too.
"Your partner" how liberal can you be! How about my wife, what's wrong with that. Anyone that says "partner" you know is a liberal lunatic for sure.
Would love to see you do a Fusion 360. You are easy to understand and watch, so it definitely would help people get into Fusion.
I love that Ruby refused to take any part in your dramatization causing you to play both parts lol.
Which in the end made it so much better than if she had...
15:37 "3D printing saved our marriage" ... And now he's sleeping with his dog 🐶😋
Love this project, saddens me that this video didn't perform that well. 😢 My Solidoodle 3 will be slightly more compact, but the full steel frame will provide good rigidity in order to push accelerations. Going to use a Voron Legacy X-carriage and the plan is to use the XoL toolhead with CNC Sherpa Mini. Haven't found many toolheads that won't need modifications or remixes in order to fit the Sherpa Micro.
I'm happy to see your happy that you got it done and did a very good job!!!
Imagine just switching sides
these are my favorite kind of projects to do, the ones where you're just like "I could throw money at that and scour amazon, or I can just get the idea out of my head into the real world and fix the problem"
My mind took me in another direction... I was going to say just go to an adult toy store as 3d prints really aren't suitable for that.😂 Also, apparently Ruby is the name you have given your stuffed Sloth!? Really Mandic!
Fusion 360 is a lot of fun. There's a ton of options to dive into, but even just knowing a couple of them can let you design some surprisingly complex shapes.
I'm also adhd here: my ac unit is directly over the return for my house. On the AC unit, I used sharpy to write "date last changed". In a box next to it, I put the date of last change woth dry erase marker. Some how, this keeps me from going 3+ months on a system that needs monthly changes. When I get curious, just open the door and instantly know when the next change is due.
we have 5 furry roommates along with the 4 human ones, so we change our furnace filter MONTHLY!
Change bed positions... ?
Vent blew across the entire bed. It just bothered her not me. She’d have had the same issue on either side of the bed.
Funny. When you first mentioned pricing just before you started talking about your design hours, I looked at what you had created and thought $450.00. I was close….
Seems like a magnetic vent deflector would have been more efficient?
Would it have been as fun? Definitely more material efficient but I wanted to heavily guide the air the direction I wanted, so internal air guides were the way. Final product is cleaner from the view of the room.
Fixed up ridiculously expensive replacement for fancy pants non standard shower rollers. Would have cost me over $300 CDN plus a 6+ weeks of no shower door. Took me 20mins to design, 7 mins to print less than 10 cents in material cost…….x2 over 6 years of being in this house.
Love to hear 3d printing fixing things like this. Rad!
This was really cool. I really need to learn Fusion so if you did create tutorials I would love to do them.
Love these practical-use projects. If you get around to a vNext version, you should consider a TPU gasket so that you don't get air leaking out.
Yea, I have been using TPU gaskets on a lot of fan mounting setups. I was really tempted to put a flat flange on the top of the setup to use some foam sealing tape to seal it to the vent tube. If we were going to live here forever I probably would have, but we are moving relatively soon actually.
Can you share the Fusion project for the little brackets? They have a really interesting shape that I’m wondering how you achieved!
Which "Little brackets" are you referring to? I'm not a professional so my CAD workflows are usually... messy, which is why I usually just share STEP files from my designs and not the Fusion project files, but I'm open to doing so.
@@MandicReally The clamp brackets with inset screws they you put on the underside of the desk. Thanks for the reply!
Sooo are you going to switch sides in Winter so you wont be hot and she wont be cold
I said, we have radiator heaters not forced air. That vent is ONLY AC or Fan air.
Yes for Fusion 360 tutorials. I threw a fit and went to Blender. I feel like Fusion 360 was not very user intutive.
See I feel like Blender is black magic and highly unintuitive. But I come from a fabrication background, so thinking in sketches was second nature to me as that's how I've designed parts for decades.
"Frigid" in English slang was an amusing choice of words :D
I have been using Fusion for a while but how you guys (pretty much all guides I have seen) have the sketch lines are black and nice instead of light-blue?
Americans and their over dramatizations :D
Note: To further save your marriage, never refer to your wife as "frigid". ;)
Hahahaha. She approved the intro and almost fell to the floor laughing at it when I first showed her, so I think I'm good. Thanks for looking out though.

single
BY THE WAY! Have you considered doing a series of modding old printers? Lots of new hobbyists go the used printer route in order to not invest as much up front, leading to a lot of modding instead of buying new printers. Ender-3 V1, CR-10 V1, original i3's etc. I've personally spent more than a P1S in upgrades to my CR-10 and Solidoodle 3. 😂😂😂
I converted an over 10 year old MakerBot Replicator to Core-XY with modern hardware and electronics. The video did really poorly after hundreds of hours into designing and building it. I get what you are asking, but sadly it just doesn't make sense as a business decision. It was an intention I had at one point but it just hasn't proven to be a path forward for my business sadly.
@@MandicReally That sucks, I guess most people are only interested in the newest flavour in terms of looking for content, then. I'll check that video out, at least. 😅 My Solidoodle 3 is going through an extensive revamp to CoreXY and triple belted Z. Maybe the CoreXY part of your video would help me with some choices along the way. 🤪
Not just you. My wife will be under blankets and I'll be sans clothing where and when possible. If only 3D printing could solve this issue but it is a basic issue no matter where we are.
Yea I was sure a lot of folks could relate to this issue.
360 tutorials from you sounds great
Loved this video! Your expert advice assistant was a real confidence booster speaking to the validity of your design. Does he charge much for his services? Hopefully he¡s affordable enough to be featured in more of your videos.
Awesome solution to a common problem. Could easily be remixed to suit air deflection needs elsewhere in the house too, I guess? 😁👍
We almost got flying 3d printers before GTA VI
HAHAHAHA
We just sleep in seperate rooms, problem solved
0:44 damn, you are lucky to have such a pretty wife
Yes Please! Any future Fusion\CAD stuff you can share will be greatly appreciated, especially functional stuff like this , with basic shapes and basic skills - I liked how you called out the Line and construction toggle tool etc and no-fluff or hardcore engineering mode, teach us a little bit, let us play and learn from the core tips you gave! Bonus points for saving your marriage!!
so instead of changing where u sleep in bed which will take one min u spent hours so change where the air is going ;-;
The vent blew across the entire bed. It still blew on me before, so her switching sides wouldn't fix the issue. Also she has a shoulder that gets irritated depending on how she sleeps, so she prefers that side of the bed. Last, have you lived with many partners? Folks generally pick their side of the bed and stick with it, FOR LIFE.
what a thubnail
Now you just need to fit a really long "Jewel Cooler" to it for optimum cooling. Great video. Keep up the good work.
Future upgrades? HA
I think you mean a Joule-Thompson cooler?
Fusion tutorials? Yes please.
Is that a LTT screwdriver? Flex.
It sure is, I love that thing and use it around the house all the time.
This must be a man thing. I'm the exact same. I run 2x as warm as my wife. I'm roasting and she's shivering lol
You could always paste the Fusion tutorial in a separate video. How did you make a transition between circle and square that or on the same plane?
Problem is that Fusion tutorials would likely underperform compared to my main videos. Then CZcams gets confused about what videos to show to people, potentially harming the entire channel. It makes more sense to put those types of things on my second channel, Mandic Labs. I'll likely do tutorials there at some point: czcams.com/channels/ViRyNkR_B198VyJ6ECDvGQ.htmlvideos
@@MandicReally Nothing is stopping you from pushing those tuts on second channel and linking within the main video.
@@MandicReally BTW if you could give me a short answer on the second part of the question that would be really great. I only used loft feature based on features on different planes.
@@Hajtosekoops, sorry I meant to answer that part. I used the Loft tool. I made the bottom flange and the top flange as separate pieces. Then I moved them apart as I wanted them. Created a sketch off the face of each, then I used those sketches to Loft between the two. I had to then do the same for each of the individual air passages to cut the internal structure out of the main loft body. It took a little trial and error to achieve what I was aiming for but it worked.
She could have just put more cats on lol
Philly gang🔥🔥
I would be up for some fusion 360 tutorials. Also love the madness t shirt, I’m a big fan, seen them so many times!
Fantastic video, as usual!
Much appreciated sir!
