The Romanian Vlachs, who are they?
Vlach today is used for Eastern Romance speakers outside Romania, and yet Romania cannot escape its own Vlach past, its roots in this enigmatic, mysterious culture, and the wider Balkan sphere of intermixed cultural heritage. In this video, we look at the Vlachs, where they come from, how they are linked together and where the nation of Romania fits into this culture which refuses easily defined borders from the Roman and Dacia past into the the modern era.

Does this fella know that Caesar attacked Germania with only 4 leggins and Traian attacked Dachia with, unseen power of 12 legions, killing almost every male found in Romania? Mr propagandist, just see the Traian's column in Rome. Romans have exercised a genocide in Romania, killing the ancient language of Romanians, and forcing Romanians to speak Latin. Vlachs were the only survivors of Roman genocide, running away to the highest mountains of Romania.

10:30 - Anti-semitism - we had that, Check out Antonescu and the Iasi & Odessa progroms for which we as a nation were responsable, it was a current blown out of proportion, and we even started as Allies with Germany in the second world war, making us Nazis in many ways. When we turned against Germany we observed commies weren't the answer either but we got trapped. If i remember correctly we paid war damage to an empire, i guess it was the best decision at the time. When it comes to neo-nazi, well that current is not catching, we know better, cause we made that mistake and based on stats and my hopes we learned our lesson, it will not catch in the future. Vlach = Welsh = Celtic = Gauls Gaelic is an East Iranian language like Wakhi & its pidgin cousin Sarikoli which has been heavily influenced by Turkish & Chinese. The Turks call the Sarikoli Ghalcha! "Wakhi people refer to themselves as Khik and to their language as Khik zik.[3] The exonym Wakhī, which is given to them by their neighbors, is based on Wux̌, the local name of the region of Wakhan, deriving from *Waxšu, the old name of the Oxus River (Amu Darya), which is a major river formed by the junction of the Vakhsh and Panj rivers on the border between Tajikistan and Afghanistan." Folks along the Oxus river & its tributaries captured golf & tin (Cassiterite) by laying sheep fleeces in swiftly flowing water. Tin is essential for turning soft copper into very durable bronze. The Kassites brought tin to Mesopotamia & took over the place for a while. The Phoenicians called the Pictish isles Cassiterid.

I made a statistic a while ago, looking for the frequency of Romanian names that would be related to the profession of shepherd, and I found a frequency of less than 2%. Like 1.7%. @@mihaiilie8808 you have a very strange theory but in practice it is not true because Celts are not people of the White Race. 2. "Vulgar" is no- sense because it does not mean White ( Б, Belgari, Byalgari, Bvlgari - literally means People of the White Race or Albanians translated into Latin. A Bulgarian is any person of the White Race, regardless of which tribe /Latin, Illyri, Pannoni , trakis, Daci, Macedoni, Megdoni, Deroni,Berbers or Amaziri. Bulgaria is translated as "The Land of the People of the White Race". Germanics called celts "Walhaz" (neighbors) the term mey came from celtizied neighboring tribe of Volcae...it later became the name for all celts...

And you need to look from outside perspectives since, lets be real, the history i got tought in school was pure propaganda. Atleast the Romanian history i learnt in middle school was. Nowdays i do look for different sources, and its always nice when some new information gets unearthed either by archeology or simply finding old texts. Yes, i do watch some hungarian channels that deal with history since i want to see it from that side aswell, jsut, peace of advice...dont go to comment section. For some reason , comment section in some videos have the wonderful power of uniting both hungarians and romaninans alike. There were language reforms, but they indeed spoke Romanian long before 1848.

If we now read a text written in Romanian 500 years ago, we can understand practically the entire text.* In the case of the English language, I think it would be more difficult to understand a text written 500 years ago.

*Românii* sau *Rumânii* sunt in primul rand geti/daci/traci, romanizați. Cine sunt "vlahii"?... Asta trebuie sa zica cei ce folosesc termenul de "vlah" pe care românii nu il folosesc.

yes amigo, then explain me why in England they don't speak a latin language under 400 yeras of ocupation? I will tell u why cause they weren't latinized same as romanians, u know the reason why dacians could speak in their mother tongue and understand romans, and the roman empire had many dacian kings? because proto-dacian is at the root of all the latin languages czcams.com/video/6T5Afl-yxa8/video.html food for thoughts it's not that romanian comes from the romans,we are the roots it all started here,we are one of the oldest poblation in Europe and the world, and even the dna proves it,we are not related in any shape or color with italians but the mother tongue,it's quite the oposite other nations are related to us cause we are the roots of Europe

Let me come with some more info actually valah is not 100% supposed to mean vultures, some historians say it means stranger also it means shepherd in some languages. The truth for us romanians is that we never like the word since we find it offensive because in our language the word is similar to subordinate or sclave but because that's how we were called we accepted it. Only later we got to call ourselves Romanians until then we just accepted how we were called.
