I think that Romania videos took off so well because of Romanians wanting to know more about thier country, and also because other people than romanians want to know more but there aren't so many clips about Romania in English language

@@ciprianpopa1503 you'd be surprised. For myself I searched a lot of things about Dacia in English just because I wanted to find information which is not so biased. You know all too well that in Romanian what information you find about Dacia is either "the greatest empire that ever was" or "absolutely nothing coherent" 😅. I found more reliable information in English than in Romanian...

Documentary Histories in general are very popular at the close of the year. Folks with extra leisure time and inclement holiday weather are likely to gorge on content in the category. History Marche is an example of history documentary focussed on power and battles that has found a niche and a production team behind it. The ethnographic developments are also a source of fascination. Romania has been the subject of BBC series on TV and Radio this year, so from a homegrown audience perspective the general interest may have had mainstream stimulus. Sărbători Fericite. I live in Shropshire and Wales is the area of choice whenever I need to spend some time in nature, a space somewhat like my home country of Romania. There are many interesting reasons why Romania and Romanians would be particularly interested in some of the material you have touched upon, often without even realising. I am particularly interested in linguistics and in especially etymology, having learned a number of languages, some formally, and some privately. I am entirely self-taught in English and whilst travelling around Wales and talking to native Welsh speakers, I have come across some very uncanny connections between my native language and Welsh.

There's an English speaking channel on YT also talking about Romania, Flavours of Romania, you could check them out, maybe even collaboration if it suits. Regarding Israel, the Jewish people in general, I would personally be very keen on videos about the daily lives of Jews in Romania before WW2 in various provinces. I know my maternal line is from Vallahia (Țara Românească) and have Greek, as well as Jewish and Romanian ancestry. At that time, 17-18 centuries, Romania had many ethnic groups coexisting together with the majority Romanian population. From my father's side, my roots are Hungarian Jewish. The Jews of Transylvania were also very interesting, because until the union with Romania, Transylvania had been under Austro-Hungarian rule

Just a small note on "barbarian". In anciant roman times, "barbarian" had a different meaning in the roman texts than the meaning we understand today. It simply meant people outside the roman empire. I am mentioning this because nowadays some people take the barbarian word from these old writings with the today's meaning, which is wrong.

There is an interest about the dacians and the romanian past mostly because we, romanians, really don't know very much about them.
They were described by our history teachers in very few words. We just know that our country resulted from the intersection of the roman and dacian civilisations, along with the later influences from the migrations of other populations.
So anything more than these things about them is amazing to hear, their language being the most important mistery.

Zionism grew from Marxist philosophy. Here in America it is a touchy subject with calls of antisemitism if someone supports one group of Semites over another. The problem isn’t Palestinians the problem is Hezbola. But I don’t have a dog in that race so I’m just hoping for peaceful solutions.

    [FamilyTreeDNA - Romania]:
For the Y-DNA, most members are Ashkenazim, where we already see matches at 12 markers, most likely going back to the times of the Roman Empire. We have few results for Romanians, with no specific matches among them. We clearly see the genetic impact of Germanic and Slavic populations, along with other groups.
[The origin of Eastern European Jews revealed by autosomal, sex chromosomal and mtDNA polymorphisms]:
    "Background
This study aims to establish the likely origin of EEJ (Eastern European Jews) by genetic distance analysis of autosomal markers and haplogroups on the X and Y chromosomes and mtDNA.
    Results
According to the autosomal polymorphisms the investigated Jewish populations do not share a common origin, and EEJ are closer to Italians in particular and to Europeans in general than to the other Jewish populations. The similarity of EEJ to Italians and Europeans is also supported by the X chromosomal haplogroups. In contrast according to the Y-chromosomal haplogroups EEJ are closest to the non-Jewish populations of the Eastern Mediterranean. MtDNA shows a mixed pattern, but overall EEJ are more distant from most populations and hold a marginal rather than a central position. The autosomal genetic distance matrix has a very high correlation (0.789) with geography, whereas the X-chromosomal, Y-chromosomal and mtDNA matrices have a lower correlation (0.540, 0.395 and 0.641 respectively).
    Conclusions
The close genetic resemblance to Italians accords with the historical presumption that Ashkenazi Jews started their migrations across Europe in Italy and with historical evidence that conversion to Judaism was common in ancient Rome. The reasons for the discrepancy between the biparental markers and the uniparental markers are discussed".
[A substantial prehistoric European ancestry amongst Ashkenazi maternal lineages - Nature Communications]:
"The K1a1b1 lineages within which the K1a1b1a sequences nest (including 19 lineages of known ancestry) are solely European, pointing to an ancient European ancestry. The closest nesting lineages are from Italy, Germany and the British Isles, with other subclades of K1a1b1 including lineages from
    […].
Despite widely differing interpretations of autosomal data, these results in fact fit well with genome-wide studies, which imply a significant European component, with particularly close relationships to Italians".
Based on accounts such as those of Jewish historian Flavius Josephus, by the time of the destruction of the Second Temple in A.D. 70, as many as 6 million Jews were living in the Roman Empire, but outside Israel, mainly in Italy and Southern Europe.
Edit: Legio XIII Gemina which was one of the two permanently deployed legions in Dacia alongside V Macedonica was Italo-Pannonian (deduced by where it was deployed and stationed prior to being deployed in Dacia as well as the recorded names of it's officers).

Interesting. According to my DNA tests (I've done 3 with different companies), it seems I am basically Ashkenazi Jewish with a small bit of Norwegian. That in itself is not a big deal but apparently I have this Norwegian bit on bth maternal and paternal sides. One test result did indicate some Eastern European and Central European. But in none was Italian present. I find that odd because to buy knowledge the Ashkenazi culture began with Jews making their way from Northern Italy over the Alps into Switzerland and Austria and into the Rhineland of west Germany and North France (where etc Ashkenazi culture had it's genesis).
From my known paternal ancestry (just before leaving Europe) was from Bukovina, the Carpathians in what is present day Romania. My maternal ancestry just before leaving Europe was from Moldavia/Moldova.
I have been to Israel twice and it was amazing to be there. The people are amazing , the food is amazing, the land is amazing. The one thing that Oct 7 did, was to unite ALL OF US JEWS from every corner of the planet.
