I miss going here to swim and walk. I even miss living closer to the park. The new design of the beach is amazing. The towpath is a good walking area. Great campsites and cabins to camp. Great pavilions to throw parties and picnics.

Great job! I was a Seneca Hall resident the year it opened in 1973. When you rode through the old dorm buildings which mainly have been converted to faculty offices, you referred to it as old Newing. It was actually old Dickinson. I also spent a summer in both Old Johnson and Old Champlain. I really appreciate watching your Binghamton area videos. BU has one of the most beautiful campuses in the country, way more impressive than when I was a student in the 70s.

Nice tour of the boardwalk, thank you. So much capital wasted on that strip of land. Imagine what the town could look like if all the property holders actually made proper investments into the whole town instead of just the boardwalk, smh. Anyway, it's a nice Jersey getaway that won't break your pockets.

Oof. Local here but I haven’t been to Coney Island specifically in 8 yrs. I was going to go rollerskating there early morning next week, but the condition of the boardwalk looks unfit to do so. Thanks for this. Great tour and commentary for tourists and locals alike.

Don't know if you noticed, but the Wonder Wheel is unusual in that 16 of its 24 cars roll back and forth as the ride rotates (they are not stationary like on most ferris wheels). Spent the first 5 years of my life living just to the west (in Sea Gate). Back then (mid-1960's) the beach was so crowded that you had to get there early to find room for your blanket! My father worked at a game stand that consisted of a small pool of rubber ducks with numbers on the bottom; you'd pay a dime or quarter or something to pick one of the ducks, turn it over, and win a prize from the shelf number corresponding to the number on the bottom of the duck. The lowest shelf had cheapo prizes; the middle shelf better prizes, and the top shelf featured the grand prizes, including a color TV (worth a fortune back then). Every once in a while, someone would come along, pay for a duck, turn it over, and WHOA, they won the color TV!!! My dad would congratulate the winner, take down the box, and hand it to the guy - after which people would flock to the stand and flood him with requests for a chance at the grand prize. That winner was a shill - he was our family friend "Uncle" Tony; when he showed up, my dad would slip an extra duck in, and he would grab that one. (The box was empty.) A few years back, my brother-in-law posted to FaceBook that he'd just ridden The Cyclone. I replied that I was jealous, because I never had the opportunity, being too young at the time - to which my aunt responded, "That's what you think!". I was befuddled and asked her what she meant, and she related that when she was a teenager (and I was a baby), she asked the ride attendant if she ride The Cyclone with me on her lap, to which he responded, "Sure - just hold on to him tight!" Ah, those were the days...

I love Coney Island, but I hate those hideous crime infested public housing project buildings along the south end of the boardwalk (beginning of video). I mean of all places to put such buildings ....

The antenna on that Apache helicopter (the chapter label incorrectly identifies it as a Chinook helicopter) is for voice communications.

Blame mayor burns from the 1960s he tore down half of all the buildings in downtown for urban renewal. The man was a loser.

My brother and I attended the show was great, but we were unable to hear the announcer. They should’ve put an added more speakers throughout the crowd so we could hear the announcer maybe next year.

I love airplanes/airports. Never been at this event. Was at my friend's house in JC. I can't believe how fast tge boue angels flew! Incredibly loud. I can't imagine the sound there.
