Amazing place tiny house
It's about time something is done for Veterans!❤
Excellent idea and it will improve that part of the city!
As a veteran myself, it's great to see communities building resources for vets in need.
Thanks for this video happy to see my old home town doing something positive for Vets. I was born in Binghamton in 1943 (yes) and lived there till i joined the Navy in1960 at age 17 and spent 25 years . I remember this area as i lived on Mulberry St North side and also on Mason Ave East side and a few other streets . I have only been back a few time when family members have passed. I now live in S.C and a member of Vets Helping Vets where we have over 350 members meet every Wednesday and do work projects to help Disable Vets and Widows of deceased Vets. Will look for updates on this projects Thanks
We need more of this in Britain.
I've been a CZcams junkie for a few years now and I always wondered if someone was gonna do a local channel. I'm subscribed and watching from Johnson City. 👍
Welcome 🙏
With 1.4 acres you would think that they would be able to fit more than 10 tiny houses, plus the service center. Maybe they'll add more later if the experiment works out.
Great idea!
Love to see this sort of thing. Any way we can support this project further?
Contact the governors office or the mayor of Binghamtons and ask. I bet there’s someway
10 homes for veterans! I've watched similar programs for homeless people to help get them on their feet. They all were extremely house proud. The house size will be manageable for someone who has a disability or someone who doesn't have the skills to maintain, inside and out. With the center, no one will be isolated. Btw, is that fantastic delicious 🍕 pizza shop still open?
Yes, NY pizzeria
@fgpalm Thanks! The next time I'm in town I'm going to visit. One of my favorites! 😋
Great video! I am sure those sidewalks will be completely redone after all the construction is complete.
Hope Mr. Tucci & Son gets the contract! Great work, he did my sidewalks
❤❤❤❤
Nice drone footage ...it;s sad to see the Binghamton Plaza like that I grew up hanging out at the movies and the BMX park etc. Nice to see they are helping out the Vets ! Hope alls well springs around the corner. I bowled as a kid there at State Bowling how things change , have a great day :)
🏡 Anything to help our Veterans! 🏡
Hope the grant money doesn't dry up due to the current economic downturn...this is a good idea on its face...I hope the veterans' center gets built first so that there can be outreach to all area veterans, along with vetting of prospective tenants in the tiny houses, which I hope will be built to withstand Southern Tier winters as well as occasional summer heat waves!
What economic downturn? The U.S. economy grew 3.3% in the 4th quarter of 2023, and inflation has been falling for the past year and a half, to 3.1 percent in January (from 3.4 percent in December). Unemployment has fallen steadily over the past 6 months, while wages and hiring increased. A BBC headline two days ago exclaimed, "Why US economy is powering ahead of Europe's".
@@allenlutins, thank you for your comment. I visited the area in July, and gas was 30 cents/gallon more expensive where I filled up in Endwell than where I now live in Northern Virginia. Additionally, large employers like Google, Apple, Microsoft, and Amazon plan to lay off hundreds to thousands of employees now and in the coming months...this is current news coming out this week in The Wall Street Journal...these and other layoffs and business closures could trickle down to whatever employers are still in the Triple Cities later this year, if it hasn't started already. I've also seen increased prices in the grocery store in the past year, even at Aldi and Wegmans (yes, Wegmans is in Northern Virginia).
@jsbarto1 thanks for your reasoned response. No doubt we here in the Southern Tier are worse off economically than in many other parts of the country (being part of the rust belt, which has been struggling for decades), but despite some inflation (especially gas and food), which primarily has been offset by income gains, I'm just not seeing evidence of a nation-wide economic downturn. I'd be curious to see the WSJ articles to which you allude - I'd believe thousands, or perhaps tens of thousands of tech jobs may be slated to be axed over the next few months (although they may be offset in other industries), but hundreds of thousands?
I'm very curious to see how this project turns out. I saw another video recently from another town that did the same concept to address homelessness. Seems like a great solution and would love to see this tried in other local locations. czcams.com/video/C4QAb61aqAs/video.htmlsi=eFPvVwDTQP1kKCQu
Frank, are you related to Lori Palmisano from Atlantic City?
I dont think so
I think it's a great idea b c the north side has become a ghost town
It stinks how poorly veterans are teeated. 😢
