The architecture somewhat reminds me of the Contemporary Resort at Walt Disney World in Florida.
Very much true, not sure if the architect took inspiration from the Contemporary.
Have you done The Thunderbird yet?
Not yet. Did part of the Flamingo history with Bugsy and another with Lanksy and the Flamingo skimming case.
Arms dealer , his brother was the cut up journalist
Yes, thanks for watching.
@@VegasVisual i was wrong I guess it’s nephew but you got it right in your vid . I liked your Sinatra vid too
Wilbur Clark was my great uncle, died too young.
Unfair to call him a frontman, he was a self made man and his great great grandchildren will live comfortably
Clark was both, Wilbur was his own man, ran multiple casinos and got himself to the point of almost opening the Desert Inn but Wilbur was a front man at the D.I. for Dalitz and Co.
Very cool! Clark did die too soon.
@@VegasVisual in the time around his death he felt threatened by Moe Dalitz and others in the Cleveland Mob. As I’m sure you know it was a rapidly changing time in Vegas. I now find myself in possession of many of his artifacts from the desert inn, when I get free time I’ll look through all the keepsakes in the garage and memorabilia items.
@@jakewalker271 Very cool to have those artifacts.
WOW! Nothings ever really new in Vegas. Feels like alot of things Vegas is trying to do today with sports teams, F1 and casinos was going on 40 years ago.👀
Thanks for watching.
@Vegas Visual. I wanna say I liked this video. I just subscribed because I was interested by the title of your channel. I used to live in Las Vegas for 9 years with my family. Thank you for subscribing.
Frank suffered from a severe case of “little Man Syndrome”
He suffered from something.
also do a video of the legend lawyer john mommot
Thanks for the suggestion.
please do a video on fat herbie blitzen one of the most greatest vegas mafioso of the 90s legend says that he was the finacial backer of all black and hispancic drug dealers
do a mob and lawyer John moommt
Thanks for watching.
do a video on fat Herbie blitzten
That is a good idea because he was murdered after it was assumed that the Mob was basically out of Vegas.
Great video. Frank was great at his profession, but no one likes a mean drunk.
Thanks, very true about Frank.
I've heard the FedEx story before but the Ruby story was amazing and soooo informative. You have a great channel and I hope it thrives. I'm going to tell ppl about it ❤
Thank you for watching and the kind words.
Yeah I knew he was a hot head and somewhat of a bully, but I've never heard the story of him having his two front teeth knocked out 😊 Also wasn't really really aware of the tension between him and Howard Hughes that's crazy 😊 I still love Frank he was a phenomenal singer and performer. ❤
Frank was one of the best entertainer of all time but you didn't want to cross him, especially when he consumed adult beverages.
Don't tell me God isn't merciful, only 2 people killed in that pepcon blast
This is the absolute most info on this subject than anything I’ve ever seen and I’ve been following Lansky since after the Nixon years. Keep up the good work! It’s an amazing accomplishment this document. Thank You !!
Thank you for the kind words, this project took about four months to put together. I then did a project on Bugsy for about four months but I haven't done a long project since because it takes a lot of effort and time.
@@VegasVisual did you uncover the VINNIE Teresa to Lansky connection / testimony? I always thought that was connected to Vegas but scant information exists
@@fusionaj1 I did not uncover the Vinnie Teresa to Lanky connection.
He had trouble in australia 1974 the unions banned his Travel plans until they received an apology about his remarks On women The union.president bob hawke managed to negotiate A sort of compromise and Sinatra was allowed to fly out!
I didn't know that, thanks for the information.
It was revenge for Frank getting out of line, and a lot of other things. And there was nothing that we could do about it. Cohen was a made man, and Frank wasn't. And we had to sit still and take it. It was among the Italians. It was real greaseball shit.
Thank you for being frank about Frank.
Yeah I recognize "Hermon Moody first blk cop"... He's the one that took off like a bat out of ( ) and gave my mom a ticket for speeding... as we were going down Tonopah HWY toward Las Vegas 1960s... I remember and still remember that look he gave me... that's him this is first time I've seen him from that time decades ago.
Maybe Hermon was moody.
@@VegasVisual I spotted him off to the side of the road and he saw me telling my mom "there's a cop!!!" He saw me and chased us down. There were other cars passing us but he targeted us because I tried to warn my mom. He had something to prove to us and to the world.
19:53… how do they know, and what luck, that they did not re-create the twin towers!!!… Which poses the question?…: If they did re-create the twin towers… Would they still have left them up?
I think they would have left them up, but who knows. I believe the design was to only include NYC buildings from the classic skyscraper days before the Twin Towers was built so there probably wasn't much thought to include the Twin Towers.
I’m kinda surprised that Elon Musk has not gotten into Las Vegas. I hope he eventually does because it would be exciting!!
Musk does have the Tesla Loop system that the Boring Company is building.
Wasn't El Rancho the first to make a resort style Casino complex?
Here are the "firsts" on the Strip (Highway 91): 1931, Red Rooster (The Mirage site) is believed to have the first casino (first gaming license) on the Strip, opening days after the gambling ban was repealed. 1941, El Rancho Vegas is the first resort casino on the Strip. 1946, Flamingo is the first luxury resort casino on the Strip. You didn't mention the Strip so: The first resort casino in the Las Vegas Valley was the Meadows built in 1931 by Charleston Blvd. and Mojave Blvd. Also, El Cortez is considered the first luxury resort casino in Las Vegas having been built in 1941 on Fremont Street. The current El Cortez owner, Kenny Epstein, was also born in 1941.
Love this video thanks ❤
Most welcome!
So awesome, thank you

Carl Cohen was a "Made Man" in the Mafia and was one of the Chief Overseers in Vegas for "The Family". That is why he got away with hitting Frank and injuring him without repercussions. Frank knew that and was aware that he could not fight Carl back without major blowback, so he did not strike him back as he would have liked to and would have done with anyone else. Wherever Frank went, there was always brawls, damaged furniture, thrown food, broken doors and holes in the walls, along with abused staff who were sometimes also assaulted. Even for his Mob connections, he was an expensive, time-consuming, drama-filled "friend". At a certain point, especially when Sam Giancana was no longer around to back him up, Frank antics became too much for them. He was biting the hand that fed him.
That would be Frank, if Sinatra wasn't so popular with the general public he would not have gotten away with so much.
Sinatra has an abnormal personality
That would be true.
18:37 I never understood, and I never will, how anyone who sings like _this_ was always considered to have a "great" voice. Now, Dean Martin ... DEFINITELY ... but not this guy. There must be a million guys who aren't even in show business who can sing better than Frankie.
Sinatra was a great entertainer, his voice quality does not match his popularity.
Totally agree ...Dean Martin could sing . The man had a beautiful voice .
Nancy Sinatra's wig looks like a stupid lamp shade. She could've afforded better.
Sinatra did have power in Las Vegas in the 1950s, but don’t conveniently forget the power of Howard Hughes in conjunction with the Mormons who are behind a lot of the financing of Vegas in the early days?
The Mormons and the Mob built Vegas. On June 14, 1855 the Mormons arrived in Las Vegas to build their mission, part of which still exists downtown. Las Vegas Historical Moments: 1800's: czcams.com/video/uCUJblIjrMA/video.htmlsi=OuP475o2Z6zsSg9g
From my personal experiences with Frank Sinatra, I contributed a reply, comment, and several facts to this post. It's not to be found here anywhere, so I guess opposing views are not acceptable.
You may have used a word that sets off the algorithm. I'm on these boards a lot, and still occasionally find out a word I thought was perfectly benign could trigger the very prim robot censor.
Not sure what happened.
This along with magically being unsubscribed to channels is frustrating.
excellent research and documentary! loved this
Thanks, this project started out by trying to do a history of the Sands and then I ended up just doing the Copa Room history because so there so much Copa Room information.
Jewish comedian Joey Bishop famously wrote most of those racist bantering jokes that seemed like the rat pack were riffing. Sinatra didn’t write jokes. Bishop was well know as the paid writer who crafted the comedy routines and jokes
It is true that Bishop was the joke writer (the comedian) but what I believe is that Sinatra approved all jokes.
Today I saw a poor guy in a wheelchair with a half of body on oxygen, he was born with some kind of birth Defects. Then I look at Sinatra and successfully people who have everything money Fame Wealth and I think What kind of world is this. I mean I'm normal poor but have my heath. I just can't Figure out why some are more Lucky than others.
Different people from different backgrounds and lives. It's a combination of things
@@VegasVisual well I beg to Differ. I just used frank sinatra as a example. I liked his movies Tony rome von Ryan's express none but the brave here to eternity.
😳 You can't figure out simple things?! Can you sing into a microphone while holding a glass of jack Daniel's and a cigarette? No you can't. That's why YOU aren't frank Sinatra. Get it? It's not luck. It's skill. Lol.
I've heard bits and pieces of this legendary era in Nevada gaming, but thanks for laying out this whole episode. Very interesting.:)

This whole thing sounds like Woltz and Johnnie Fontaigne in The Godfather. Except it came out the opposite way. I guess Mr Hughes was a real gangster.
Thanks for watching.

Thank you!
Frank and his crew especially the original Oceans 11 crew Rocked.....i could give a fuck what he did off the clock.....REMEMBER ITS ENTERTAINMENT
Reasonable take.
Sinatra was a good entertainer, but wasn't even a good crooner
He was certainly a better entertainer than singer.
I heard Sinatra had a very bad temper, but welshing on bets and getting his fronts knocked out of his mouth gave me an entirely different picture of the man great video man.
Thank you, Sinatra had a dark side for sure.
1990s was the best decades. However many of the problems were building up that are negatively effecting us even more.
The 90's was the last great decade, you could say apex of Las Vegas.
“The FBI said…” That phrase has lost all meaning and credibility!
This is why I try to show the source of the information and let the viewer decide what they think of the information.
Mean drunk for sure
Sinatra was a different person drunk.
I am always TEAM SINATRA since I was a 10 year old KID. It's just how crazy things wete back then. You never know what makes somebody tick.
Sinatra had two opposing sides, good and bad.
That farmer character seems like a real schmuck
Old school guy from another generation.
What a great history! I have to go visit the next time we are in. Nice job Kevin!
A true historical gem on the Strip.
Married there 1992, glad they have kept it so nice all these years. It really is a cool piece of Vegas history.
Easily the best place chapel to get married in Vegas if you want a classic Vegas chapel wedding.
Drummer Buddy Rich had sinatra beaten bloody between sets in about 1937 New Jersey. Played the set black and blue.
Wow!
You have it backwards. I don't know what year it was, certainly later, but Frank had Buddy hit with a manhole cover. It was Frank's custom to have someone do these things for him. At one time, he had a beef with a casual girlfriend because she did the unthinkable- made a remark about politics. He had someone ring her doorbell, then pied her.
@@akrenwinkle The two things probably have a lot to do with each other. I got it from Buddy's biography; "Traps the drum wonder." Have a good evening sir.
@@akrenwinkle Ok man, no argument here. Supposedly this happened in the early 1930's in Atlantic city I think. Pretty sure they were in their twenties and not friends either way = didn't like the slow ballads. Buddy was known to be a total jerk all his life and his band notoriously disliked him. Funny note = later in life a band member had a cassette tape recorder on Buddy's bus and recorded a Buddy meltdown on tape at the band. It's on CZcams. We have no argument man. It's just funny. Please have a good night sir.
@@user-ln4zr4pz4f Great talents like Buddy Rich and Mel Torme were almost always unpleasant, to say the least. But Frank, a bigger star than them combined, prided himself on absurdities that required us not to believe our own eyes and ears. His artistry was very real; everything else was phony.
