Hi Maaike out of them all a couple caught my eye - the six pan silver and the final Adept colab😂. I found the Zoeva quads on heavy discount through Debenhams online and ordered the smoky quad. It looks grey in the pictures but it’s greeny taupe and a light champagne in real life (looks almost khaki on my super cool toned skin and it is pretty, although not what I had expected when I ordered it 😂). The formula is really nice however and I am pleased with it for under £12. The main thing on my current wishlist and just waiting for the end of the month is the Ilia skin tint in the dropper bottle. I finally got to try the shades and the palest shade (point five) is pale enough. It is so pretty on my super dry mature rosacea and eczema prone skin. It makes it look plump, juicy and glowy in a way nothing else I have tried does 💕💕💕💕. It’s not a lot of coverage but I can wear green corrector underneath and concealer on top when needed and looks good even at the end of the day. I want to try more from the brand now😂. I had all the complexion samples from the US and my latest Edinburgh jaunt, but this was the winner hands down. I did spot a viseart quad I liked the look of too for my wishlist btw. Truthfully I don’t need to buy the highly pigmented and sparkly eyeshadow that many indie brands specialise in so my wishlist for these is never going to be extensive. Best wishes xx

I totally understand you, my wishlist is way bigger than my makeup budget can handle 😅 I want new Glossgods, Fantasy Cosmetica (their Cradled in Ice palette screams Maaike name to me), Rich Romantic together with Sugar&Spice from Glaminatrix, like 3 or 4 Unearthly palettes. Their new spring magic is a dream for pale girls, plus the combo of Sorcerous Smoke and Fall Magic looks stunning to me. I wish their pricing were a bit more affordable.

I'm planning to get the Sigma. I think that this one could be the first Sigma palette for me to try, because I really love the colour story.

I have the Glaminatrix Sugar & spice and it's one of my favourite palette together with the Rich romantic

Really enjoying this video. Completely off topic... but have you seen the new ND palette? If you type in natasha denona golden palette reddit there was an accidental release of her products early on her own website. Its got a lot of repeat shades from Gold... and one from star I think maybe. But it is pretty.

Gourmande Girls' Nightshade palette is discontinued and no longer in stock on their site. Which to be honest seems strange they decided this way as the Halloween/end of 2022 palette was restocked multiple times and is still available on their site. Maybe they'll have some stock left of Nightshade like they did a month ago. I picked it up then together with Haunted and received it yesterday. There are a few pretty shades, but overall not enough cool toned purple like in the initial design posted on IG by Doodles by the Bunny (before it became a palette). But I already knew it would be this way and just bought it mainly to try the brand.

That Martine palette is so dreamy! The unearthly dreamer too but ehhh I feel like their pricing has gotten a little too much for me. Great vid, thanks!

Adept and Ensley Reign eyeshadows are the same size, so I create my own colorstories with them, I just had to use a sharpie to mark the names on the Ensley Reign ones. My husband bought me the Nightshade eyeshadow palette for my birthday, and just waiting for it. I have the Bloom from Klarity but I do not reach for it and it has very deep shades, and the pans are magnetic. Lethal and Unearthly are the same size and you can create your own palettes. What's up Beauty and the Viseart smaller eyeshadows are the same size too. Not too much on the wishlist because I buy too much!

Hi Maaike unfortunately there is a subset of viewers who are only ever going to leave negative comments aka “trolls”. It’s truly not personal and a reflection upon them rather than the content creators. I’m truly amazed how rude people can be online. I try to not say anything that I would not say face to face. I’m not interested in drama or reality tv (apart from true crime as I enjoy understanding how someone was caught). I’m from the older days of youtube where everything was less professional and just people talking about their love of beauty products. Here is where I found others who shared this interest. I’m still someone who is not that interested in the really big channels for that reason. I try not to get into the mentality that I have to have everything I see I like the look of and have a smaller “collection” for that reason. I also stick to my budget and save up for the things I buy. One opinion is just that and I try to get multiple opinions prior to buying something for the sake of balance eg a mature skin, a dry skin and then a similar skintone/undertone for a balanced review to suit my needs. I don’t watch videos I don’t enjoy and have unsubscribed from channels where the content really declined. I don’t leave negative comments and just click off too. It’s unfortunate that social media has led to an acceptance of bad behaviour in some ways and leaves us all a little more negative perhaps. Best wishes xx

I appreciate when you say 'you don't need this, you already have it' during new releases. Packaging sometimes makes me want things. I agree wirh if you can't say something nice... Also we don't know what is happening behind the scenes & negative comments can have an impact on people's mental health.

I'm here for you being you, for you keeping it real, your opinions and not over editing or pushing products through our throats. I appreciate all the time and effort you put out for us to enjoy free of charge. Do I like all content as much? No I don't, but I still try tobe as supportive as I can to show my appreciation for all the work you put into your channels. I hate drama and prefer to leave positive feedback over negative comments, but if I feel somebody overstepping, I will call them out on being rude. There is no reason for being rude, if you don't like content, don't watch it. It's as simple as that. But I realise that there are people out they that feed on making other people feel miserable. I also look forward to reading nice comments from other people following you. So a huge thank you to you and your community who all make this a place I like to visit on my commute to work.❤

Some people just aren't happy and they try to make themselves feel better by criticizing others or they want to make others miserable, too. It's really sad. I think if people don't like a channel or a creator, they should move to another channel. There are plenty of other channels to watch. There is no simply no reason to be rude and mean. I am sorry some people are ugly to you. I enjoy your channel! Tfs makeup. I, too, love eyeshadow!

It is sad how some people are just plain mean (often times they are not happy in their life or have a lot of anger and find someone on who to vent, to make someone else feel bad as they do (misery loves company), want to see a reaction (best to not even argue and simply block) or are jealous, you have 11k subscribers and people like your videos 🤷‍♀. Or are just bad but then we don't need these people, you can live your life without them), they can not like what you do etc but then you do what you want, but yes they can still suggest some ideas or have different opinions. Also i wanted to add, it is irrelevant here, you can sanitize your makeup with isopropyl alcohol 70° (can get them in pharmacy) because i know that you sometimes want to give a lipstick or other makeups, makeup artists (or even tattoo artists (i don't have tattoos)) do (they SHOULD / HAVE TO do that at least) that between clients or to prolonge the shelf life of your makeup (once a month or 2 months would be good for personal use, better every month because even if the product contain preservatives, bacterias still can grow on top) and to wash your brushes weekly to not contaminate too much your makeup (i only wash the toe of the bristle in lukewarm water with shampoo but i do in warm water ^^' and put some biocide (like isopropyl alcohol or another one, hansaplast do some for exemple, on a tissue, no need for a spray there on the handle (not on the bristle, it may degrade it). And if you use liquid foundation, best to wash after each use, a blender will be easier than a brush for that or a puff (i don't really wear foundation, but a compact powder that is mattifying, it is a bit like a foundation and i do prefer to use puffs). If you have too much lipsticks or have bought one that you don't like on yourself, you can wipe a bit (no need to do that if it is for personal use) with a tissue then spray 70° isopropyl alcohol (only this one is used on makeup, it won't affect the product) and let it dry (no need to wipe after), don't forget to desinfect on the outer packaging (with the same alcohol or another biocide) and then you can give it to someone even if it was used a bit, if it was expensive or recently bought maybe sell it for less (it will still be money and the other person will be happy). For the liquids and really creams (like moisturizers texture, powders that are a bit creamy can be sanitize) makeup, you cannot do much and they do expire really fast. My tips will be to not use mascara's after the period precised on the packaging, no need to risk your eyes (best to throw after 3 months)

Wow! I use my Nomad Cosmetics Iceland palette for its greens, and purples, too! I sometimes keep it with my “green” palettes and sometimes with my “purple” palettes! Most people overlook that, it seems… 💜💚 I love the greens in their Ghost Town palette, too, and a ton of those colors really work on me. 🤠

Hi Maaike, like always I thoroughly enjoyed this tea time chat from you! I actually prefer to listen a creator like you who is really well-balanced about all of these millions of new releases and trends, meaning not everything you mention is going to be "the best thing ever". I feel it's more relatable to an average makeup consumer (like me) but maybe not for creators who do CZcams for a living. I am convinced that those who do it for a living don't give honest opinions (not all of them but certainly big part of them). There are number of reasons why I think that way, which I'm not going to get into, but if that subject comes up on your channel I could be convinced otherwise. I have to say that a lot of negativity I see comes from subscribers who act as a pack, attacking other subscribers who "dare" to say they don't like this brand or a product from that brand or who, God forbid, criticize a creator's opinion etc. So they jump to their rescue so to speak. I find that extremely annoying, you don't have to defend anyone, just agree that you don't agree and move on, continue using products you like. I hate to hear you had such awful comment based on physical appearance... That's so childish but what can you do... But I'm glad that you're happy with your little community you created here and with the people who value your channel! At the end of the day that is (or should) be most important! The Amy Loves Adept palette just got to me yesterday. I had to use it as soon as I saw it. I've only done two looks with it so far, but both mocha and 1997 worked as transition shades for me. I just went lighter with it in the crease and heavier on the outside corner. I got compliments all day yesterday when I wore it. I think you'll like it a lot

I have seen a couple of pretty negative reviews on the Coloupop So Elemental palette, i have not actually tried it so i cannot speak from personal experience, but maybe it may make your choice to not get it easier. Also, i know i may have mentioned it but the Adept Amy Loves palette is stunning. It is a better Adept formula than the Minka (i know Minka was hated on, but i actually really love it, but i understand that their "squishy" and somewhat more prone to crease formula isn't idea for many people, i use it with the Inglot sealer and have zero issues. I do have non oily skin and lids.)

Alas, schadenfreude is a real thing. You are a really great content creator, and the negativity doesn't belong on your channel.

Tbh I don’t think I have EVER found a creator too negative, more often I find some people too positive (or maybe they really just love everything, but I think that it's normal that people have preferences and they like some products more than others). But I'm Polish and I think that nothing is too negative for us, that's just how we communicate and what we are used to. But what really baffles me is how some viewers are offended when a creator doesn’t like a product that they like… I mean whyyy. It's just them not liking something (which is perfectly fine) and to me there's nothing personal about it.

Your reviews are thoughtful, thorough, and helpful. I really enjoy them. I am so glad I found your channel because we both share a love of makeup, especially eyeshadow! I appreciate your thoughtful analysis on how/ why some people leave negative comments- sometimes what they say verses what they actually mean gets lost in translation. Sometimes, they’re just trolling.. or being nasty for nasty’s sake- not worth engaging. Sometimes the absurdity of it all can be amusing.. Regardless, I think you’re lovely and amazing. I think people are all different and sometimes they have such a bad day that spilling some mean words eases them up a little. Personally I would not, but this is how I have been raised. It's hurtful but they are much more hurt than we think.

Do people really tell you your nails look terrible? Why would someone 1) notice 2) be bothered by anyone else's nails 3) be bothered enough to leave a horrible message. I don't understand why people spend time watching videos and being negative when they could just click on one of the other million/billion other videos and watch that and be happy. I'm sorry you get stuff like this. Ignore them and just delete? The comments section is there for people engaging (properly) with you.

Wow. I do not enjoy it when other people don't do well, I never watch reality TV, I don't even have a TV set at the moment, haha (I gave it to my relative last week because hers broke down and I don't use mine). I do like drama of rich a-holes (such as JS), but I don't enjoy humiliating people in general. But there is something else: I don't have anything in common with most beauty creators. I unfollowed them all because I found them superficial and shallow, and sometimes even dangerous. I can't buy an expensive lipstick if it has been recommended by someone who watches horror B movies and the Kardashians (and talks about them heatedly on CZcams for 45 minutes), I can't even listen to what they have to say any more. I used to follow at least fifteen beauty CZcamsrs, and now I'm down to you and Theresa Is Dead. I listened to Dianne Etex (a Scientology youtuber) who said she will "eviskerate" us if we keep on insulting her, I'm still laughing, but I understand it can be hurtful. Don't take us too seriously. We are just a bunch of a-holes with too much time on our hands. :) And we love your videos!

I guess some people are lonely and dissatisfied with their own lives. That's why they leave nasty comments. But also the fact that the videos come "for free" can lead to a mindset of entitlement in the viewer. You want the creator to do the content that's right for YOU or else the creator is daft... 🤦‍♀😆

Maaike, I am very content with what you offer us. I am assured you give well balanced, consistently considered reviews on products. You don't play into politics, you give pros and cons and you put up with my basic comments. 😂 I love that you are real, lived in and relatable. I don't have beautiful nails, I am so very mediocre at makeup application and let's not discuss my menopaused ravaged hair and wrinkly face! I don't want to watch a 20-something face telling me to buy the latest product. I definitely earn my money with hard earned effort and I want a YT creator who respects that. That is what you mean to me, Maaike. These chats are my jam. 😎

I feel you should block whomever you feel is too negative or hurtful-there is nothing wrong with blocking people. You’re much braver than I am, I could never put myself out there like you do. Great discussion. I like your point that if you don’t like someone’s content you don’t leave a comment telling them why you don’t like it, you just stop watching their content. I wish more people did that.
