I film my videos mainly using natural lighting as artificial studio lighting greatly alters the look/ performance of products and acts very similary to a filter. Besides, I don't live my life under studio lighting, so I need my makeup to look good in natural lighting mostly for my day to day life, which I why I prefer to test out products in the type of lighting I see my makeup in most. - Jak na to + styl
Carmine has been used for years There are farms in the states & Mexico that grow NOPALES which is an edible cactus used in a lot of Mexican Food so it’s a 2’fer. 2 for one win win. These Beatles actually infest the cactus but they on them they ha ce their own little echo system.
I have the new mario pallet and I love it. Use it everyday.i don’t like a lot of color and sparkle so this was right up my alley and I have at least 50 eyeshadow palettes but I still reach for this.
Yes I think it is a good neutral palette for some people but not for me.
I love my Croc pallet from Klarity. Profusion‘s SuperBloom collection has amazing formulas. The Harvest & Ethereal pallets have several different formulas definitely worth a try, especially on sale. I promise you won’t regret it.
lol I am over fifty and love pikachu lol
Thank you for this video! Really happy that you make them, cause I want to know more brands and this is a perfect way to get to know them and not have to order everything haha!
Thanks! Glad to be of help.
27:45 avatar the last air bender franchise would be my guess 😮
Celine has had fragrances out for a couple of years. I do hear you on the designer brands bringing out makeup. It does seem very cash grabby. Especially from those who can't afford their bags, clothing etc.
That's pretty much how luxury brands operate: you can't buy a Chanel bag but you can afford a lipstick.
I put in an order for Nomad and Viseart. Interested in the skintint from Lisa Eldridge. Dislike Meteorites like products as well, they are so messy.
Glad I am not the only person who dislikes meteorites.
Malfunctioning bunny, that was so cute 😂
I've just been to London and saw the LE skin tint in the Westfield Space NK! 🎉
Good to know it's already hit shelves.
Yeah, the new skin tint from Lisa is really lovely, but I don't own any other tints right now, only regular foundations, so I felt it would make sense for me to buy it. The weird thing is, it looks better after a few minutes, at first it seems to have almost no coverage, but over time it kind of sets and really makes my skin look very pretty. It's definitely worth checking out when you decide it's time for a new low coverage product.
I'm interested in the Rare Beauty blushes, but am still waiting for them to pop up at polish Sephora, as they are not available here yet. I know cooler tones look better on me, but sometimes in the spring I feel like wearing a pinky-peachy blush, even if it clashes with my skin tone 😬
Peach blush for spring/summer is one of my go tos as well. And thanks for the heads up in the LE skin tint. I think I will check it out in store first.
I so enjoy your videos Maikke!! I too will be skipping all things Pokémon! I do enjoy the Joker and Harlequin though (I think it's pronounced Harley-kwin)
Thank you!
Is that a sunburn in/beyond your hairline?
glad I do not wear reds to start with lol
To be completely honest, I don't see the point of these videos. This is like a few products you like and a plethora of those that are not for you but you present them in a rather dismissive way sometimes.
In my mind, it would make more sense to talk about the releases you are actually interested in or going to buy and explain your thought process behind those decisions. In addition to that, you could mention only a few releases that somehow stand out or might interest a lot of people (like the LE tint, the perfume, new Rare blushes, essence and Catrice) but in an informative and objective way.
I don't expect you to like my comment, change your opinion or anything like that but this is an open comment section, so ... As someone who's been following you for years, I'm just giving you my honest feedback. These videos tend to sound a bit repetitive.
I am also a long time follower and I really enjoy these videos. I don't pay attention to any of the "new product releases" accounts on IG, so this is a good way for me to see what is coming out. If Maike shows something that catches my interest, I do further research on my own. And I also like to hear her opinion... doesn't mean I have to adopt it as my own.
Plus this is a once a month thing, which I think is just the right amount and easy to skip, in case I ever get fed up.
Frankly, if all she talked about was the releases she is interested in and wants to buy, it would come across as very "influencer/promo" like to me. I think this beauty channel is one of the very few, that still feel sincere and relatable to me and I would really dislike it, if that changed.
See the reply: that's why I do these videos as not everyone is on Instagram. I used to try and talk about everything which I found depressing and too negative. Then I did this top 5 bottom 5 style but there is just too much being released to keep up that format. So I decided to tackle it differently: I save everything that stands out to me on Instagram and after a month I sift through and edit out what I don't want to talk about. Some months there is a lot I am interested in. Others there is less. This was a no thank you type of month for me which I also indicate in the intro.
If you find this setup too negative: know that next month I might feel differently. Also as a makeup reviewer I have tried a lot of makeup so I am very critical of what I want to buy and what I want to skip. It's almost the more I try, the more critical I become. So yes, there is less and less being released that I am interested in.
These videos also serve as an editing process for my own makeup purchases. If after filming this I still can't get something out of my head, I know it will be worth it. Just because I am not buying things instantly or because I am not super wowed by everything doesn't take away from the fact that makeup is cyclical and I only buy what I like anyway. From a consumer/ sustainability stand point that makes a lot more sense to me. It is like a reminder that 90% of the products out there aren't for me. And that's okay.
