Also at 25:22, just attempting to clear the confusion on the Phantom Ruby, it is in fact both as far as I can tell. Though it looks like this only really applies when someone with ''mastery'' over it's capabilities is directly controlling it, in this case, Infinite. The Ruby's power itself creates the reality where the illusions are then projected and traps its victims in there temporarily or permanently depending on the wielder's choice, and somehow seems able to make the projections look and feel real via dimensional distortion (more often than not, I've seen that be the cause of illusory manifestations seeming truly real) to the point where they can even make physical contact. You were absolutely right when you said that Tails' explanation that this was all down to the ruby completely corrupting one's visual senses made zero sense because yes, that's not what was happening, the ruby doesn't ''corrupt your visual senses'' and ''feed false information to your brain'', it merely traps you in what appears to be a dimensional field that its user can create at will, where the reality within is completely warped/distorted, in a virtual way if you will, the apparent ''illusions'' are actually strangely tangible synthesized holographic projections that can actually physically harm you and cause real destruction that isn't faked or illusory, kind of like a futuristic training simulator (like this one in Astral Chain) where the synthesized projections of enemies exist solely for training purposes but they are there, they exist, and they are controlled by built-in smart AI, they look and feel like illusions but no, they are real in actuality (my point is that in this instance they are neither illusions nor holograms and so they can touch you and and you can touch THEM, essentially making them virtual robots, but only in this specific situation), but this is different, beyond even what future technology could ever be capable of. It's a hell of a lot more dangerous in Infinite's case, where he can create literally anything he wants, it seems. The projections actually start out as illusions but the ruby's power also seems to be able to make them tangible so they can be touched physically, which essentially makes them robots, this explains how the clones Infinite made of Sonic's past enemies could be harmed physically and they just simply fade out of existence if defeated. The fact that, with the ruby, Infinite can also mess around with gravity at will is insane, this is all god level power. Another way you can look at this, if you want, is that it's a little bit like that old cliched story of being sucked inside a video game and trapped. Then all of a sudden, everything that wasn't real before, be they monsters and creatures, because it's all inside an entirely fictional universe, is now real, just like that. The Phantom Ruby seems to project/represent that very situation here, or something like it. The Phantom Ruby was intentionally designed to be unique and mysterious, in a different way than the Chaos Emeralds so it somehow makes sense and at the same time it doesn't. Anyway, this is how I understand the Phantom Ruby's functionality, I'm NOT a scientist but I hope this helped a bit. I know this all largely makes no sense but as you know, in the world of fiction, nothing's impossible and anything can be made to happen.... I think I just gave myself a brain cramp lol

Okay, let me be frank here. Why is it that Shadow, Silver, Amy, BOTH TAILSES, and Knuckles sit on the sidelines cheering on Sonic when ALL OF THEM have CANON SUPER FORMS??? And if Classic Sonic is able to go super it means he's obviously the version from Sonic 2 onward, but between Sonic 2 and Sonic 3 which explains the absence of Classic Knuckles and Classic Amy as well as this version of Metal Sonic because Classid Amy and Metal Sonic appeared in CD and Classic Knuckles in Sonic 3, both of which are after Sonic 2. But even still, SatAM Sonic is Classic Sonic and he has a voice, so why not get the same voice actor (Jaleel White) to voice Classic Sonic here? It'd make a LOT more of this make sense. Also I just wanna bring up the fact that in certain missions the modern version has the character helping you but then the classic has them trying to kill you, and vice versa sometimes. Why does it even do that?

7:35: I have no idea why Blaze wasn't included in the game either. It would've been nice to see her again, kinda weird that she wasn't there to help her friends save their world when Sonic did the same thing for her. Yeah I get it, she's a princess, she has responsibilities but that aside, she is one of the franchise's most powerful characters and there's very little reason why she shouldn't have appeared in the game.

When I first played this game I kept thinking "Why doesn't Shadow go back & save Maria?" Or even "Why doesn't Shadow go back, tell his past self & Maria what's going to happen so they can escape together?" Even during her death, she still has the strength to have Shadow make her promise. So, why doesn't Shadow go back as soon his past self's ejects from the Ark, get Maria, go back to the present & immediately take her to a hospital. Sure, Maria's still sick with incurable disease. But even in current games Sliver is still around & his story is still kind of canon. Meaning that Shadow can probably just find out when her disease is cured & then give her the cure? Apparently this game was meant to be a soft reboot of the franchise, so they probably were going to change Shadow's backstory where Maria was less involved or she might not even existed. But that wouldn't make any sense. Just like this goddamn game.

I like the game but it is a glitchy mess. I tried playing two players with my 6 year old daughter and it would freeze up and I would have to close out the game and then reload it. In single player mode with the update it works fine and I can 100% it in 1 1/2 hours. The plot isn’t that great. The areas are nice for fans and seeing familiar land marks from the show is nice. I love the Heeler House layout. The game has good points but it’s definitely a rush job with questionable multiplayer.

I just noticed that Melee joke during the end of the sponsor, what a specific pull that is omfg 😂
