@@jordancooney6817 Nope, since the Mobile Christian Whitehead Port of Sonic 1, which is what Origins uses. Sonic 1, 2 and CD were all just the Christian Whitehead ports, and Knuckles was excluded from CD because apparently they couldn't get him working until Origins Plus.

The Game Gear games being featured in the updated collection is a nice surprise they deserve to be preserved

I'm happy that people like Charriii5 here see that there are at least _some_ good things to look forward to in Sonic Origins Plus. Most people see this as SEGA dropping the ball yet again, and in some ways, they have.
I dunno, we finally have a fully playable Knux in CD at long last. They added Amy into all 4 games which should of been a thing or at least a secret unlock since she appears in the opening and ending cinematics with Hammer in tow hinting she was intended to be. All we need to know now is if they fixed Sonic 3 and Knuckles to be in a far better state than it was on release. The lack of 3D Blast is because the game is not made by Sega, its Traveller's Tales who made it, Spinball... can you imagine it being remade with the Retro Engine with the worst controls in history? Knuckles Chaotix would probably cause a lot of issues because if it was included, we'll have another "Why isn't x character in the other games but is in the others?" situation like Knuckles missing in CD.
Remember when you asked why knuckles isn’t playable in sonic cd in sonic origins and they could’ve made Amy playable in sonic origins? Well knuckles will finally be playable in sonic cd.
I am so glad that the Game Gear Sonic games will live on.
I was really debating on downloading them for my 3DS but now being available on modern platforms is a great gift from Sega.

I absolutely love how everyone combined started praising everything when they saw Amy getting added. I’m genuinely interested in this game now though, especially now that they have freaking *16* total games. Knuckles chaotix still isn’t there of course but holy cow isn’t this the first official port of like 90% of these games?
No. All of these games have been playable on many different systems before. Still really cool though.
I really wish the Game Gear titles that had Master System ports used those instead.

@@aidan_metallix72 Actually, the game's not too hard to transition into Sonic Origins as a remaster, if its easy to add combi rings to classic sonic roms. What makes it a problem is how Origins now has the Sonic Advance Quartet in all 4 games. Fans will riot if Sonic, Tails and Amy don't appear in Chaotix, and more so if Vector, Mighty, Charmy, Espio, Heavy and Bomb are missing in Sonic 1, 2, 3k and CD. The whole Knuckles Missing in CD fiasco would just be multiplied.

Here’s the thing about the other 16-bit games: if you get this for Switch, and you have Nintendo Switch Online, you can get Spinball 16-bit and Mean Bean Machine with the Sega Mega Drive collection that comes with it. I’m assuming they’re also going to add 3D Blast later on.
That also means the NINTENDO Switch is going to be THE place to play all these classic Sonic games.
Apart from the tiny screen, which would make it less enjoyable than a PC or proper console.

Tbh I would have loved at least an emulated version of Knuckles’ Chaotix in Origins+, besides on the 32X, there is no way to play it. Also Mighty and Ray could have been some copy pasted code with a new menu.
It did have a rerelease in GameTap temporarily so it had a one time re-release at least. As for Mighty and Ray, if you were to include them in Sonic 1-3k and CD then have Chaotix included with it, then it's better to use the code from a retro engine remake of Chaotix so every character can be ported into Sonic 1-3k and CD as well. Mighty in Chaotix would become a complication if he had his Mania moveset in the other game unless they make him Sonic which Mighty was before the final release. The way Sega made Stealth handle Sonic 3K, I'd rather them focus on fixing the known issues of 3K, have time to include accessibility for Knuckles in CD and include Amy because clearly she was intended to some degree which is probably what they did.

The only games we *need* are chaotix, 3D blast, spinball (16-bit), mean bean machine (16-bit) and boom definitive classic sonic collection
They might as well just to save time just cut put spinball and mean Bean machine 8 bit and blast and replace them with their 16 bit and Saturn versions and if you can somehow try to fix 3d blast open world then again short time and throw in metel sonic mighty and ray as DLC

Since origins rewrites the classic games kind of that means all the game gear games are now canon but also since 8-bit spinball and 8-bit mean bean are canon that means they’re 16 bit counterparts are cannon as well and also I just like to think 3D Blast and Chaotix are just came in as well because they’re pretty good
If they put in 3D blast 16 bit, they should see if they could include the official directors cut hack

I think the reason why it's the Game Gear versions for Mean Bean Machine and Spinball, it's because the Genesis/Mega Drive versions are already in a collection, which was Sega Genesis Classics, which you can buy on the same platforms as Sonic Origins Plus. This is the first time the Sonic Game Gear games will be playable on these consoles.
