The book was entertaining and interesting, but it wasn't exactly satisfying. There were so many points of climax and big reveals that they took away from eachother and, as you mentioned, most just got swept under the rug. Also, I know this was a love triangle but even so Avery's opinions on Grayson and Jamison were so confusing as they were constantly changing - one sentence she hated one of them, the next she was either kissing them or admitting at secret that went against everything she'd previously thought. Honestly she was so hard to predict and understand that it was really difficult to connect with her. Lastly, it might just be me being slow but all of the specific dates and random flashbacks and names and underdeveloped characters and miscellaneous clues and throwaway quotes and out of the blue lore-dumps were so hard to stay on top of 🥲 But, thats just my opinion, and dont get me wrong i was genuinely invested in this book, it was just... a LOT

I love my remote!! I use one where the controls are on a ring you can wear or holder. Much smaller than the remote in this video. It’s a third-party thing available on Amazon that costs approx $40 but it was surprisingly a game changer and I love using it. I just wish Amazon would build the remote functionality into the Kindle itself through Bluetooth or something so you don’t need to clip anything to the side of the device. It would also mean there’s one less piece of equipment to carry around when I want to read somewhere.

Side note for anyone still watching this, for an Oasis a pop socket is the way to go instead of the clicker, grip, or stand. They are light enough they can just free float resting with my fingers around the popsocket, completely effortlessly, and with the auto rotate i can hold it with either hand. Also, if youre aware of your body, you can lay/sit in a way in almost any situation where the kindle is casually facing you and you arent actively holding it up. The stands become irrelevant, and since you have side buttons on the oasis the clicker isnt necessary.

I think Bonney will be an Ancient Weapon. I've said it when Egghead started but I feel like it's getting confirmed. Joyboy and his family (Ancient weapons) vs The World Gov. Shiraoshi (Pink Princess, she is Poseidon). Momonosuke (Pink prince, I believe he is Pluton). Bonney (Pink princesse, I believe she is part Uranus). All those 3 are more than friends to Luffy but Shiroashi is def like Luffy sister, we had the Ace thing, the cry baby etc just like with Ace... Momonosuke is Luffy little brother, he says it himself at the end of Wano... And Bonney acts, eat and now becomes even Nika. I think Momo will awakened (Vegapunk already talks about his awakening, saying he is not sure if it can happen. It 100% will lol). Shiraoshi will awaken too. It is said "someone will come and teach her her power"...

Honestly, this chapter makes me wonder how powerful Bonny's fruit really is! I mean, it's got to be law's level of Broken! LOL but it fits with Vegapunk's explanation of fruit powers being people's manifested dreams... Still, I wonder if she dreamed she would grow up into a Dinosaur, or a Unicorn, or a Fire Truck (Things young kids say, lol), could she do it if she could picture accurately what that would be like!

I caught flack for not reading any of Luffy's flashback as they were coming out. I was completely shell-shocked by the state in which Oda left Luffy. So I totally get needing to heal from One Piece in your own way, in your own time.

Interesting arguments for sure! And if anyone were to pull off this overhaul of motives, it would be Oda! But I don’t really think Doffy would ever fully fall under the alignment of good (using dnd logic). He’d be neutral at best. I agree with you that as a child, there are many ways he was wronged, and there could have been a chance to turn things around. It goes along with my belief that all children need to be protected and guided to make the future better. That is what I love about the Rosinante foil. Unfortunately, he was taken under the wing of an adult that fostered the malice and hateful entitlement that had already taken seed in him. Therefore, as a grown ass man, I don’t think he has any excuse to justify the extreme harm he has done to people. Could he end up redeeming himself one day? Sure I guess, but I don’t think it’s ever be for the greater good. He’s seems to me to be some one who believes he is the greatest “good,” and will do whatever he has to to come out on top. Even if that means siding with the Strawhats somewhere down the line. I love your theory crafting though!

While I agree that Doffy definitely seems linked to a bigger plan/mission and while his actions MIGHT be justified to fit that mission (except for Corazon, he can't be excused for that lol), he'll ultimately still be an evil manipulator with a logical intention to save everyone, ala Thanos. My primary reason is Luffy's speech about how he can hardly breathe at the thought of someone like Doflamigo because of how controlling and oppressive he is. He may be trying to change the world for the better, but he's no better than the celestial dragons before him.

I dont think he is a good guy but Doflamingo actually has a great defense. 1) He had legal rights to rule over Dressrosa. Nefertari family still hold their rights to their kingdom even after loss of their status as Celestial Dragons. Donquixote family never gave up their rights over their kingdom 2) His crimes were pardoned under his title of warlord. Till he was defeated, an admiral was there to witness all of his crimes and he just stood by. If he wasnt breaking the deal back then then it still stands after his defeat 3) His dealings with other yonko was not only known by WG and marines, but they even bought massive amount of seastones and other things through him

Never underestimate Oda and the intentionality behind the origin of characters and concepts he utilizes in his series. Having never heard of the Yaksha, but now being more familiar with it, a turn around for Doflamingo is definitely possible. I still think he's evil, but he could end up being an ally of circumstance, like Crocodile was during Marineford. As for how it could happen, I'm definitely thinking that he might become a part of Cross Guild since it seems to be, at the moment, a group spearheaded by three former warlords (which is also where I could see Moria or Weevil end up), and I don't foresee Cross Guild being an antagonistic force to the SH after the One Piece was claimed and after Zoro defeated Mihawk when going into the final war with the WG. I originally thought he could never be allies with Luffy and the others, but that definitely makes me rethink a bit his role moving forward

I understand others possibly thinking this take is crazy and I don’t completely disagree, but I do think it is possible. Almost every character Luffy has beaten has become redemptive in some sort and have fought along our side at some point. There are only a couple that haven’t - Enel and probably Lucci (and that might change). As for Kaido, we also know that Kaido was waiting for Joyboy’s arrival and if Kaido does potentially return it’s possible he will also be on the side of Luffy. And if Luffy is trying to take down the world government/Imu, it’s possible Doffy will also be on our side. I think another interesting tidbit about this is the S-Flamingo or Doffy’s seraphim. Maybe the Seraphim can be the new betrayer/evil while Doffy does somewhat turn. I still don’t think Doffy is redemptive since he enslaved, killed, tortured, disabled, and sold people into slavery and I think the same for Kaido. It’s hard to say for sure what their role will be moving forward. But I appreciate the discussion point and I think it’s an interesting topic to discuss.

Hey Amber hiw it been. I hope you're having a wonderful Wednesday. I can't say he's a hero. But he's a great written character. Because he isn't a one dimensional character. There are so many layers to him. I think Doflamingo is one of the most interesting characters not just One Piece but in anime and manga. When you introduce to him nothing about him stand out except his design. But as you go further into the story you get bits of information about him that makes you want to know more about him.As you get insight inside his beliefs in the Marineford Arc. Then we get into the 2nd half we get his backstory of being a Celestial Dragon, his past with Law all the way to his defeat at the hands of Luffy. Something tells me his brief appearance into the story tell us that Oda has something in store because what some may forget after the end of Marineford Arc when he attacked Gecko Moira. Moria ask why attacked him and his respond was someone higher in World Government. Since we never got a confirmation as to who he's working with. This may be the time to reveal who he's working with. Even tho my guess is the Five Elders or someone else who may appear later on in the story. But anyway I hope you have a lovely day. Honestly, Magellan is probably just keeping an eye on level 6 after the breakout. He's no longer head warden so keeping an eye on the most important prisoners (including Doffy, a celestial dragon) after the breakout makes a lot of sense to me. There's a lot of down time, so they probably did develop a bit of friendship. Doffy is definitely not _truly_ evil, he was groomed into the role. One Piece really has a lot of grey area for characters and that's why Doffy is so beloved. Cora got groomed to be good by Sengoku. It's a mirror of the brothers that both had potential to be truly good and truly bad. But also, it's very likely he... ahem.. *forced* himself on Violet... and that kind of person is never acceptable in my eyes (i'm also looking at you, Absalom, I still haven't forgiven you for slurping on Robin and assaulting Nami). Oda in an SBS mentioned theres a lot of _emotion_ in Dressrosa and those two have a very complicated relationship, which implies a bit of SA (whether that's stockholm syndrome or just... you know). I don't want to talk about that part anymore lol
