I have tried everything, currently have a set of Ping i210 and PXG 2001 Irons in my shed. Got a second hand set of Wilson D7 forged irons, all I can say is WOW this things blow the other sets out of the water. So easy to hit, long and forgiving played around 6 rounds with them and I’m hitting 40 points plus every round. Handicap coming down from 16. So underrated Wilson, not anymore for me.

Wilson massively underrated which suits me fine as the price remains reasonable. Got my D9 forged last year for £649 and they are the best irons I have used. Can't see the point in paying double. Also bought the 49 degree GW to fill in the gap. Got two Vokey SM9s to complete my iron set. I took the 5 iron out as I get better results with a 4 hybrid. Play off a 9 handicap and these are perfect for me

I ordered a custom set of D9s online based on my Ping fitting. They're great and half the price of Pings. The lofts got a bit of getting used to. I would not be able to hit the 4 iron, but I use a hybrid anyway. I ordered 7-SW. The D9s do deliver on their promise of distance and high launch. Recommended. For reference, I'm a 19 hcp.

I got fit for the D7 Forged (liked them more than 9 other irons that I tried over 2 days at Second Swing Golf) and believe it or not liked it more than the D9 Forged. I loved those clubs and still have them. I eventually switched to the Mizuno JPX 923 Tours as they are a bit more "player-like" and a bit more consistent. I will keep my D7s incase I need to get a bit more distance as they are about 4 degrees different in loft.

I’m gaming the D9 irons currently with true temper gold s300. I love them! So forgiving and like you said easy to hit. I used to play apex 19 and let go of my ego and dropped from a 9.6 to a 4.2 since I switched over to the Wilson D9s

I am playing the D9Forged since spring 22 and I like them. I did buy them of the rack with stock shafts and the local pro shop did bend the lie for me and we did weaken the lofts a bit to more classic 46° PW and 32° i7.

Not the D9, but I was fitted into the Dynapowers last winter. I love them. I got G through 5 in Dynamic Gold S300 shafts. Like the D9s they are power lofted, so a Gap hits like a pitch, 9 like an 8 and so on. I can shape shots predictably and stick greens pretty well. I think the D9s tend to be out of stock because Wilson is focusing production of the Dynapowers.

I returned to golf early this year and bought the regular d9 irons (non forged) for about £350 new. I’ve since added the woods and a d7 4 iron and d9 gap wedge and Wilson putter. Absolutely love them. Wasn’t fitted but suit me fine. Aggressive lofts, v forgiving and v consistent.

I been using Wilson Staff Ci7s since 2009, after a year of playing golf...I play to a 7 hcp...I tried out the D9s last summer at the PGA Superstore....the attendant saw that I was hitting the D9s really well....I then asked him if could go get my 7 iron from my vehicle so that I can compare....I hit one shot with my club and he immediately says that there was no need to change clubs....lol... and I totally agree....still like the D9s, especially since now they are dicounted...may still get me a set.

I've been playing Wilson Ci9's for about 10 years now. I play twice a month maximum these days and still love using them so I see no need to change them for something a little more helpful. I'm 52 and play off 15, so maybe change them for some new fangled power bats in a few years.

I got fitted for my d9 forged at pga superstore! I love them! I usually change irons every year, but not this year. Theses babies are staying in the bag for at least one more season. They came out 2019 and are doing so well they skipped the 2021 new revisions. I’m siked for the 2024 to see if there will be a d9 upgrade and also the new CB’s are rumored to be amazing! And Dynapwr forged😳

Also had the D7 for this season and I got actually pretty good with irons finally. but I have one issue with them which has made me want to upgrade to maybe D9(if they dont have this). I don't know what to call it but like an "even sweeter spot" :D. Mine seem to have a sweeter spot then even the sweet spot, if you hit there the ball goes alot further then normal. Anyone else had this? It happens quite rarely but basically when it happens the 7 carries like a 6 which can be a problem in the wrong situation. Anyone else had this with D7 or D9?

Last time I looked at the local PGA TOUR Suoerstore, Wilson Blade Irons were almost as expensive as any other blades. Seems only their cavity backs show up considerably less expensive than other brands.
My first clubs were Wilson 1200 LT (1983). If I were still using them my scores wouldn't be any worse than they are now, and I'd be living in a bigger house!

Iv had these about a year - fantastic clubs ..
Not sure why you say hard to find .. all local clubs near me in north east stock them and even have had fitting days.
Also play dynapower driver and staff model putter
These will be getting replaced early next yr with dynapwer forged … seen a few pics online..
That’s why they are reduced a bit ..
    Look as good as anything.

I did initially think Wilson Staff. Trouble is many today think of the Basic Wilson starter sets? I did look at Wilson Staff Ci9's a few years ago which worked for me but the Mizuno eqivalent at the time felt and performed a little better. I did use Wison Staff Dx3 urethane balls until they were superceded a couple of years ago.

I just got a set of D9 forged 5i-GW from “affordable golf” for £465 brand new, I only got them because they was cheap and looked good, I shoot between 85-100 and struggled with them today with my first game with them, they do feel really good when I caught the ball clean but u get punished big time when u don’t hit the ball perfectly with distance dropping off by about 15 yards and the ball going left and right fairly easily, compared to cobra ltdx irons

I'm currently gaming these, the D9 Forged, with KBS Lite steel shafts +1/2". Got fitted for them at a Roger Dunn here in SoCal in January on a Wilson demo day. Any problem I have with them is down to operator error. It ain't the arrow, its the Indian, y'know. Even on those shots where I get no compression, the weight down low tends to get the ball up and pretty far. They look good and sound good. Think I got 5 - P for about $850. Also playing the Wilson Dynapower Titanium driver. Am very happy with all my Wilson gear. See no advantage in going to a "premium" (more expensive) brand.

When I got fitted at the PGA tour superstore last Feb The D9forged were in the final running with the JPX923 forged, 923HMP, and ZX5. At the time they were still priced up in the $1100 range. They felt great and look amazing. The 2 negatives at the time were the price, and how mirrored the face is. I went with the 923 hmp, but now that the D9F price has dropped I might pick up a set! Since then due to sales, the major retailers I frequent have stopped stocking them.
