Thanks Doug. I never knew there was such a bit.
Same!
They have been around for years.
Thank Doug.. out neighbor years ago hung sheet rock and I believe he showed my husband.. we were hanging sheet rock at the time..
Thks that helpful for women who take care of things themselves
This came at just the right time. We are gutting and remodeling an efficiency apartment we have for guests in my husbands shop. The heater stopped working in a cold snap and we did not realize a pipe had frozen and flooded it, so all the insulation and drywall needs replaced. I did not know they had a special tool to sink the screws to the proper level in the drywall and we will certainly be buying one. I do the drywall finishing after my husband and son hang it and this will make my part easier.
Inspired by you, we tore out the make do kitchen area and we are putting in one that will have a sink and all the amenities.
We are ripping up the peel and stick flooring we put in years ago and putting in ceramic tile this time.
We tore out the old shower stall in the bathroom and we are putting in a smaller size bathtub with a rain shower head and hand held if someone wants to sit in the tub. My son is going to tile the whole area so water will not be an issue if it spills on the floor or walls.
I am making a video record of what we do too, so I can look back on it and see the before and after.
I love your tips and wish we had watched you before putting the siding up on our house when we remodeled our home. The tool you made for setting the depth on one of your houses would have saved us a lot of time-instead we measured and marked the depth each time which was much slower.
Wow, it sounds like quite the project ahead of you. I hope it goes smoothly and turns out beautiful :)
Hi Doug Ashley Belle & Maverick.🌹
I started doing sheetrock in 1958. Then we nailed it. To do it right with screws get a drywall screw gun. Those bits may work for a while but I' old school. Love what you guys do. Keep it up. Not enough young people know what work is. Stay safe semper fi
Just curious. Does a drywall screw gun have a slower drive?
It has a clutch, and you can adjust the depth to what ever you need.@@deannamarie4149
@Steve, my granddaughter is in the USMC ...Semper Fi !.. Thank you for your service 😁
Great little tutorial Mr Doug! Different bits for different jobs!!
That was so interesting to learn. It’s these little tricks and tips that make a job go more smoothly. Thanks for sharing. Be well, be blessed ❤
Thank you Doug, you're always out to help your fellow diy people
I'm about to be gutting my 1965 mobile home and this will come in handy. Honestly never knew any tool like this existed, I've always just done it by eye and it always drove me crazy if I got in a bit of a hurry and drove them in too deep. Thank You
I'm just finishing up on my 69' mobile home and it's down to 1 spare bedroom. It really looks good compared to the mess that it was. (Drug addicts were living in it before I bought it).
I love this new information!! I know I can trust you for honest reviews!!!
Nice tip about Kobalt. Had no idea it was the same as the Montana brand.
I will go out and buy one at Lowe's. I have to rehab the drywall in my garage.
Lol! You're absolutely right! I had one with a set of bits I bought and ACCIDENTLY found out what it was for! Oh my!! What a game changer!! Thanks for the review,(mine is the kobalt), really great advice for screwing in sheet rock.
I love learning new things. I never knew there was such a tool. You’re a good teacher. Thanks very much.
Thanks for the information. I have some work to do around the house and could really use this tool
Thank you for showing American made goods
cannot keep my eyes from wandering back over the house and property....looks beautiful, truly
You always find the best tools and share how to use. Doug , we love your family and that Maverick is awesome little guy.
I thought this would be about the proper spacing of the screw when fastening drywall but I learned things I didn't know or forgot. Thanks for the videos.
I just sent it to Drifting Dreamers 5. I hope Mike will watch it since he will be building soon. Mike is a sweetheart .
Awesome. I know him and "C'mon" just did a whole house of drywall and I noticed they didn't use any drywall bits. They were one of the channels that inspired me to do this video.
Gunna send this video to my husband!! He might even watch it! Lol I talk about you guys like you’re family..😅
Thanks for telling people about the bits and showing how each did. Glad to know about Lowe’s brand.
I love learning about new (new to me) tools and methods. Thank you for showing the drywall bits. Expensive does not aways equal best quality.

Where were these back in 1977? Things have come a long way. Love finding these kinda things out!!Thanks Doug. God Bless, Hugs, Granny
haha I feel slightly attacked right now! JK! Doing drywall work right now and this video was extremely helpful as I keep sinking my screws too far. This will alleviate so much headache!

Hey Doug, I'm so glad you mentioned this. I didn't know exactly what I needed to look for to make my dry wall repair easier. So thank you so much or sharing with us this info. I will be purchasing this very soon. I really appreciate when you mention things and whether you like them or not . TAKE care stay safe and God bless
Thank you! Things like this make great stocking stuffers so even if I personally don't need it, I know a few people who do. I keep a private gift list on Amazon year round so that when I need/want a gift, it's easy to get something that won't be yet another unneeded generic gift.
Thanks Doug always good information.👍🏼
7 thirty and its starting to get dark.. summer is starting to end but its still real warm for a while up here.
Thanks for sharing. I am actually getting ready to build a room in my unfinished basement with my son. This is a great tip - matter of fact watching you over the last several years has given me the courage to attempt this project. We are just doing the framing and drywall. I don’t think I am ready to attempt electric so my neighbor will help us with that.
Over the last 6 years Doug & Ashley have shown us a lot of products that make getting the job done with less headaches or costs. I've picked up quielte a few tips & tricks. I'm glad they have given you the courage to try. More people should give it a go, if you can 't get it after trying you can always hire the job out.

you are a good instructor
I had no idea a tool like this existed. My brother never used one of these.
Good to know. I needed that before. Good review on those bits.
I have the ridged drywall screw gun, once you get it set up its awesome and fast. It uses screw clips you feed into the gun.
I've watched the drywall guys that were on the jobsite's that I worked on, and they really raced thru with that screw gun.
You are awesome Doug!!! You give me such good ideas
Thank you, really helpful quick and to the point. Have to put up some drywall soon, Great review of the tools that will make it much easier!!
