    For the diyer’s out there, a drywall gun of any kind saves a ton of time and consistently sets the screws at the right depth. It’s a pain in the butt to set screws properly, consistently, with a drill.

    I own that same drywall gun. 10/10 would recommend. Picked up a kit with the screw gun, 2- 2ah batteries, charger, soft case and the cordless router for $200 bucks while HD had a sale.

    I just got one, I am finishing my garage this spring. It isn't a huge job, but it is my first time hanging dry wall and I plan to use it as experience for eventually finishing my basement. Hoping to get started this weekend, In the fall I had finished insulating and weatherproofing so I would be off to the races with the drywall this year.

    Instead of using a regular Phillips head to drive the screws in you can just buy a drywall setting bit for 5 bucks. Works with any regular screw gun. That said, I did purchase the Dewalt drywall gun only because I wanted the attachment DCF6202 that you didn’t show to run Senco duraspin screws like a drywall machine gun.

    The biggest problem in DIY basement remodeling is getting the drywall inside your house and down the basement stairs by yourself. I can frame, run electric, modify HVAC, add plumbing, insulate install trim doors and a drop ceiling, build custom cabinets, paint, stain and finish but drywall? Hell no! No way could I get 12-14 foot sheets down the basement by myself. I hired a drywall installation company to install and finish tape. Best decision ever as very affordable in the whole budget. Best tool needed for most work was a laser level as it’s a great third hand that doesn’t complain. Only professionals hired were drywallers and carpet installers.

    Hi, question on this screw gun. I am building a fence and have a large investment in DeWalt batteries. would love to buy a screw gun with collated screws. Would this gun have the power to drive a screw through a 2 x 4 or a 1" redwood picket? Thank you!

  • @longsnapper5381
    @longsnapper5381 Před 2 měsíci

    Major point: If you drive that screw even a little too far with a regular screw gun, it will tear the paper coating of the drywall and you have lost your proper attachment of the drywall to your stud. If you're doing a small patch-type thing, your regular screw gun is fine. If you're doing a full room or more, get yourself a drywall screw gun.
