I've got one and think it's so handy that you can quickly pull off the collated end to get at an add screw and take it out etc, great design in my opinion
Just bought one of these after being frustrated with makita getting jammed every few screws, so far so good!
Did you have the makita version of this dewalt model ? Had the same issue and looking at the dewalt one now
@@leonhingston7511 yeah i actually had two Makita ones and both were the same, the DeWalt is so much better
We always used senco and it was a beast but too high in price. I bought a dewalt one last year and was impressed until the screws provided by the customer were cheap and it didn't cope... the screws ended up damaging the head. I bought a senco head attachment that fits the dewalt and its the best. You get the long lasting of the dewalt with the efficiency of the senco
I’ve not thought of that idea. Do you have a link to the attachments?
Thought the Makita one was pants tbh, it was the 240, always jammed up and left screws slightly proud, following with a screwdriver. DeWalt is bang on 👌🏻 never tack without one
The Makita is crap, spend more time i jamming it than actually using it, the Hilti gun is the best.
It was the cheapest, that's why I got it, works great, bought the grabber n7 collated attachment, way nicer than the dewalt, in my way of thinking.
Great video Alex I think I’m gonna invest in one. Ps how’s my new trowel breaking in ?👍
The giveaway trowel is coming along nicely. We have just finished our last render of the year, so it will just be plastering now until it goes.
Regards the drywall gun. They are excellent. We wouldn’t board now without one.
@AlexMorleyPlastering How do these perform against aluminium rails/studding please?
Hey bud, this is actually the video I've been looking for. I'm ready getting into collated screw guns but they seem to have there problems. From what I've seen Makita is liked by alot of people, but has it's problems. And Hilti is an absolute fan favorite. Like maybe the best collated screw gun on the market. But from what I've seen online, the Hilti screw strips seem expensive asf. Is the price point high in stores like I'm seeing online? How expensive are the Hilti screw strips?
If the Hilti screws are as expensive as I'm seeing I'll probably go with the dewalt. Seems pretty good and all the screw strips work with it. Do you have a certain recommendation for the best screw strips to run with dewalt?
Thanks for all the help! I really appreciate it
Most generic screws work with collated guns. We use Timcos. They seem the best in our opinion. Fast thread and a solid magazine strip.
PRICE question-- you can get a pack of 1000x singles for £11 online, but the cheapest I found collated were about 18 quid. Unless I'm missing something, they are definitely more expensive, or maybe this changed in the last year since this vid was put out? ALSO - can someone recommend a brand of collated that are really good and never get jammed? (coarse thread)
Morning Alex , quick question can I ask where you buy collated screws from ? Thanks john

Get the new version head for it the 6202. It’s way slimmer for the corners
What’s your view on the paper vs scrim tape debate? The BG site book recommends paper tape bedded into Multifinish for superior crack resistance (even on full skims) and scrim tape only on fully-supported joints… Hardly ever see this done though.
Tbh we never use paper tape. Several reasons.
1. Paper is messier.
2. Fibre glass scrim is stronger
3. Fibre glass scrim is self adhesive
4. We often get calls to repair tape and joint walls that have had the paper joints fail.
I haven’t seen BG say paper is better, but from what I have seen I wouldn’t personally agrees with that. Thanks for the qs.
@@AlexMorleyPlastering thanks for the reply! Mesh is definitely easier so I’ll crack on with using that (no pun intended). Just wasn’t sure whether easier comes at the expense of performance, but now I know 👍
Used the Marita hilti and festool and the dewalt is as good as any festool very good on batteries but as long as it lasts a good half day or more it’s not a problem
Are they good for internals cause AEG are poop
How many screws can you put in before the bit is bad?
No idea. I have had one last over a year.
At a guess, maybe 50, 000
I'm guessing you have tried more that one DeWalt model by now is there one you prefer over another?
@@mr.kenslifeshop4034 the one in this video. I’m not a fan of the attachment on the new one. It’s not as smooth.
@@AlexMorleyPlastering yeah you mean the 201 is better than 202?
Drywalls are only ever dry until the Electrician arrives and screws through the pipes
its a good gun but it hates anything other than straight on screwing never does well in corners at all
I been doing drywall for about 11 years and im just as quick with single screws than the attachment
Bullshit
@@paulchapman5249 i mean the attachment could probably be used faster. But the speed he was fastening the sheet in the video, i could do that speed without the attachment once im warmed up and in my pace
Hilti is the best one in my opinion, never have issues with it.
I Don’t disagree with this comment. Just for the money I don’t think it’s the Best Buy. Principle of diminishing returns.
Chat shit ......they good for 6 months they just jam more than Hartleys. Over priced wank hilti is
You talk too much instead of showing action
not recommend dewalt
