Love what you do buddy explained in such detail no one on CZcams explains it’s like you do keep up the good work I look forward to your next video 👌🏻👍🏻
great vid Alex! really good content and i always seem to learn something new on every vid!
Thanks for the feedback
Good ; well explained video
Great video mate.
Hi Alex,
Love the videos.....and product recommendations.
I only plaster 1-2 days a week, and usually only covering artex or the odd wall.
I'm looking to get a new trowel, but fearful about the breaking in period as I don't s&c at all.
Are any of the trowels out there ready to go to some extent. More concerned about the shape as I'm happy to wet and dry.
Any recommendations welcome.
Awesome finish mate nice one 👍
Thanks for the feedback. 💪
Absolutely love my nela flex for finishing
Which Carbon steel trowel would you say is the best all rounder? Nella giveaway trowel or the Marshalltown 13" Cement or 14" plastering trowel? Thanks
Just found the channel, great stuff plasterers porn love it..keep them coming
Do you recommend using flexi trowel for cross trowel or can I get one good base trowel for all stages?
Great vid Alex, do nela have a trowel that’s similar to the marshalltown permashape? (Already broke in sorta thing)
Great vlog alex. I learn something new from your vids everytime. You explain it very well. Can you put them carbon steel trowels in coca cola to get the carbin black, an help with the rust?
Keep up the good work 👌
Generally we use Vinegar to stop the rust. I’ve not tried CC tbh.
It’s mine 👍👍👍
Hi m8 could you tell me why I’m getting tearing on my first wet trowel sometimes, am I too early cus if I leave it longer to firm up it’s ok but I’m worried I’m leaving the wt trowel to long to get it proper flat if I do that thx?
👌👌👌👌
Keep that trowel clean, might be mine one day🤞
Another great vid. Better lighting perhaps
Fingers crossed you get it. Although I will bi-carb it before we send it.
Regards the lighting. 100% agree. There was no lights in the room annoyingly. ☹️ I’m planning on getting a light mod for the camera to stop this.
@@AlexMorleyPlastering fancy patina it for me too 😆
Lighting wasn't as bad when I came out of typing on my phone, but I usually have a light set up. Led are great now but keep a halogen for winter mornings and battery one for packing up
Hi Alex love your videos, very informative mate. With a new trowel ie carbon steel did you do anything to prep it before you used it or did you just use it straight out of box? I need a new trowel and need some advice. Many thanks 👍
Generally I just use them out the box. I soak them in vinegar to for a patina on them. Other than that they are usually ok to use. If I wanted to form an edge I would just use wet and dry. For the most part I can’t be bothered.
@@AlexMorleyPlastering thanks so much for responding. What grit paper would you use? Had a go with the nela carbon today couldn't get on with it lines everywhere 🤬 guess I need to be patient. Got a refina superflex 3 i need breaking in too. Would Sand paper work on that ?really need a trowel I can use as it's affecting my work. And can't get on with new permashapes either!!! Doesn't seem to flattening very nice.....Banana 🍌🍌sorry for all the questions buddy👍
Strange your struggling with the Nela. We have bought 3 in the last 6 months. No issue with either.
If your using wet and dry, I would get as aggressive as you can. I’m not sure I would use the superflex 3. I’m breaking on in myself. It’s ok, but not the same as a stiffer trowel.
@@AlexMorleyPlastering yeah superflex 3 for finishing stages really. Nela is a lovely trowel gone for 13" as you suggested, normally I'd use 14" marshalltown Suppose I just need to get used to it. My old trowel was so beautifully broke in but damaged now.😫 when are you doing a patina video?
Just done it tonight. It will be a short. Been away hence the delay.
Any flexi trowel should be OK out of the box.
What's your opinion on the ox finishing trowels?
It’s not my favourite finishing trowel. Mainly due to the handle. IMO I think they are a bit uncomfortable. Also they are a little bit higher in price than the NELA and Refina alternatives.
I recently bought a set of three, as a replacement for my worn out ragni trowels, and I find them ok, you hit the nail on the head when it comes to the price! thanks for you feedback.
I need a trowel that doesn't bend at all not flexible rigid as possible i am looking something similar to a curry trowel very rigid
How comes you don’t force patina a new carbon ?
I haven’t had a chance yet. When I went to pick up the vinegar from my local store they didn’t have any.
I will be doing a video on it soon.
@@AlexMorleyPlastering ah fair enough, keep up the videos enjoying them 👌🏼
Breaking in the carbon like a real man 💪
When you know you know. 😏😉👊
Nobody uses a new trowel for finish are you for real
