Should you have put extra blocking under the door since there is a door there? Most mobile homes have 2 sets of brick blocking under the front door because most heavy things come in the front.

I am constantly amazed at how you just matter of factly repair the damage. Boy that was a big challenge ,but I think you don't mine challenges do you Doug. I think you have replaced 80 percent of all the wood so far or am I wrong. Love the door and all the though you put into it its a beautiful door. Had to smile when Ashley said the temperature feels like it drop and Doug says whatever and when he said what he said about his hair that was so funny. A pretty door and doesn’t look like a standard mobile home door. The screen will be such an advantage in the summer months.

We still have some rotted areas to repair. As we're finding leaks we're patching the roof with rubberized roof patch. You have to wait 30 days for that to cure before recoating the roof, so we'll be doing that a little later.

It’s amazing how much damage water can do. It travels so easily into everything. Termites love the moist wood. I hope you don’t find too much more. But you’re so right that’s an old mobile home and it’s held up well when no one was doing much maintenance. I heard Maverick at the end lol
The door install, even though it was a struggle, went smoother than any of the non mobile doors. Funny, that.

Thank you! No plans to go to any meetups. We avoid going to gatherings where there would be smoking and drinking, and most of the Arkansas channels do those things.

Good thing you have a big strong wife to help you with that heavy door! Are you going to spray the wood with a product that will slow down the termites, rot, mold etc.???

All of the prep work before installing the door was very interesting to watch. The door is very nice looking door and a good quality door.
Cant believe that old door was still on there, with how badly the wood was rotted all around it. I was thinking anyone else would have burned the place down anc started over from scratch. The new door is beautiful! Its just like our side door but we are in Texas, the Lone Star state, so it has a double meaning!
I think it's high time Stan got a performance review. I'm not sure he's meeting his performance metrics as he seems to do a lot of standing around. I know he's quiet but he should ask questions if he's unsure what to do next 😊

Whether you keep it or someone else ends up with it, rest assured it will be a sound rebuilt structure, thanks to your hard work! Great job guys.
I just in case you aren’t aware, it is advisable to install a pier under the rim joist as close as possible to be underneath the edges of the door. This will help prevent uneven settling and a subsequent leak on your door. Also it’s always a good idea to have plywood span at least three framing members. This helps prevent a hinge effect.

I don't know if you plan on selling this trailer but I know you guys have fixed up a few places in the past and sold them and wondered if you tell the buyer about your CZcams channel I think it would be a good selling point and also neat for the new owner to be able to watch what all went into there new place also if they wondered how something was done they can literally just watch old videos 📹
We've never told any of our previous buyers that we had a channel. :)

There is no boredom watching the tear-out and repair. You're providing a very good service.
Be sure you caulk around doors and windows! Caulk around all outside trim. Paintable caulk if you ever will need to paint trim or siding. ❤. Also there should be double studs on both sides of door frame. If you are replacing siding and putting osb on outside, be sure you put up good vapor barrier. It comes in rolls. Looks like plastic and keeps all moisture from ruining your hard work. Insulate house good. Do all your wiring before you put up insulation. Did you leave room for threshold? The double studs keeps your door more secure from break-ins and causes no door stress. It will swing better. My father and seven big brothers were builders; can you tell? LOL

Hi Doug and Ashley! Well, I was late watching your video, becuz where I live it's zero and below! So we had to deal with a frozen pipe issue! Not only cut the frozen pecks out, but reroute it so it never freezes again!
