This is NOT a mobile home anymore. Let’s don’t call it that anymore . This is a thoughtfully carefully crafted home on a mobile home chassis. It’s so modern and CLEAN. I’m so incredibly proud of you guys. The vision you had for this home is fabulous.

You can live in a house but until you create a home, it's just that... a house. To create a home, you have to envision what would make your family happy. You have to take in consideration, the needs of each of its residents. You have to make it not only functionable, but make it pleasingly beautiful to the beholder. Lastly and most important, a house does exactly that..it "houses" or provides shelter from the elements. It keeps its occupants safe and protected. A home, does all that plus allows each occupant to feel loved and nourished. A home is where we share our lives with those we love. We create memories in our homes.
This use to be a 1974 double wide mobile house. It is now become a beautifully built home.

My husband and I bought a very similar home in Maine. Our plan had been to tear it down and build something new. Then we started seeing the prices! Because of you, we are now inspired to renovate what we have!!!
i can't explain it but i really like this family! they are adorable and seem so simple and down to earth. i could not have known that was a mobile home by the looks of it, it looks like a small house but you did an amazing job with the renovations. “The house came out pretty good.” I’d say that is an understatement. You folks did a fantastic job in design and labor. BTW I love the framed wall piece in the kitchen. It’s not the prettiest as stand alone, but it is clever because where it came from and totally adds to the decor.
That framed panel in the kitchen is brilliant. It just fits so perfectly. I love it.🙏
It's so hard to believe it's been 2 years already. You have accomplished so much. And now you have a well built, well insulated, mold free, house that is quieter and so modern. Good job.

You added about 40 years to your house and for that many added years will give you options. I have rehabbed 6 houses and one of them we have lived in for 44 years just finishing up second major remodel plan on living in it for 20 to 30 more years. I’m a minimalist and it takes me up to 29 years to hang up a pieces of art but it will be a piece that I love and enjoy looking at it always. You have done a great job I KNOW how hard you worked.🦩

Some people spend big bucks on huge and new houses WITH HUGE PAYMENTS AS WELL .I THINK DOING THIS IS THE WAY TO GO ..TOO MANY PEOPLE LABEL YOU IF YOU HAVE A MOBILE HOME.. THIS GUY DID A NICE JOB ON THIS HOME.
I want to move my family into a double wide that my husband and I can remodel. I think they can be done very beautifully! He’s very handy and I’m a fast learner but I’d love to be handy also
Having watched your channel since before you bought this house when I look at each room I remember the blood, sweat and tears involved in so many of those rooms. I still think Ashley is amazing for keeping the family going with no toilet or bath for ages and no kitchen for many months. The cabinet fiasco, the rain through the roof. You all sacrificed but persevered and what a reward!

All I can say is I agree with all of the sweet, wonderful, thoughtful comments posted here, like many I watched the reno in the cold winter and I admire the way you and Ashley stuck it out. No running water in the house, make shift bathroom, tiny cooking area, and two children, home schooling, wow Ashley you are a wonderful mom and wife, help mate in my opinion, not forgetting you Doug, all the hard manuel labor in the cold, under the house in the snow...all around you two are my favorite family on CZcams...God bless

I really like the hollow core bathroom door. Solid is easier to clean than the ones with designs. I cannot find solid paneled anywhere, 2021. Mom's house had 5 inside doors that looked like yours. 1950's. She lived there for 40 years.
We found ours at Home Depot.

I have a 1980's double wide and thought the kitchen walls were terrible before the updates made, but yours takes the cake. :-) What is with mobile homes from that era that had all the hideous walls. You did a fantastic job on your remodel.

we renovated a 1993 Chandelier doublewide mobile home. We love it. Hardwood and tile floors, solid surface countertops all the comfies of a stick built. Like y'all, we had the walls and plumbing done. Great job- well done. Kris

I just have to pause here at 6:54 and say, I actually LOVE that you framed a piece if the previous of wall... it keeps how far you've come, probably not just in home-renovation, either, but other areas of life as well... so it is a very good visual reminder... it keeps a person both grounded and gratefully!

I'm still blown away by all you two did by yourselves! I absolutely loved everything, specially the kitchen and I completely agree with getting rid of the toilet off the kitchen. I've always disliked the fact that you could be cooking and someone could be blowing up the bathroom. No matter how good your vent is things linger and it's absolutely disgusting in my personal opinion. The closest's turned out fantastic along with all the furniture you made throughout the house. You're truly beyond a talented, highly intelligent man with an amazing work ethic and the ability to tackle any obstacles life dishes out. Your family is such an upstanding, creative bunch of kind and lovely people. You and Ashley are doing such a wonderful job raising your children to be such fantastic people which seems to be truly lacking in today's time. I know I always rave about you all but I truly mean everything I've ever said and hope more see your videos and find inspiration to do more for themselves along with thinking about how they are in this world, how they treat other's. All if you will always be one of my most favorite channels to watch and root for praying that life treats you kindly.

Unlike the couples you see on TV, he actually did the work. Chip and Joanna got things rolling with that movement, and WERE hands-on, but 95% of the copy-cat shows are staged. The Property Bros. aren't going to risk their manicures, while Erin is too busy cooing at her husband and playing dumb blonde to actually work. The real work is contracted out behind the scenes. I really admire this young couple with the incredible planning and attention to detail. The house feels so clean, almost Scandinavian, in its simplicity.
