Very well done Steve! I just bought a 2022 Highlander following my 2007 vehicle, so these high tech screen settings were new to me. Now I understand how to work my screen much better thanks to you.
Beautiful. Happy to help
😱😍 OMG it is beautiful wow 😳
I agree. Takes someone by surprise when they are not expecting it.
Steven Welch it is true 😁😄 I hope the future RAV4 comes with a display like that.
Steve, very informative as usual. I wonder if you could the same thing on the 2020 highlander 8 inch screen? A lot of us have come to depend on you for good information.
Basically you can do everything on the 8 in screen. The main difference is you wont have the 3 layers. I will make a video for you on the 8 in screen to see the difference.
Steve, how can you manipulate the navigation to get it to give you alternative routes?
it always gives you 3. quick, shortest and alternate. i will do a video to show you
Awesome video! Thanks for the info, does installing this mean you cant use the ac vents?
no
Hey Steve ty for the video. Just had my infotainment freeze for the first time after 2 years. Restarted and its fine now - come across this? Common or not and how to resolve it it happens again?
every once in a while. its a computer
Will there be any updates to fully utilize the screen for navigation purposes? instead of just one third ?
the new ones have full screen. i dont know of any updates current or planned to update the old ones
Do you know if it would be possible to remove and install this unit on the rav4 hybrid premium?
Not possible
Hi, is there a way to hide the side panel and use the whole screen
no. its only on the 23 and above
Hey there! How do you put a photo on the screen?
its not the easiest thing to do. I can get the info for you but i know you have to have the pic on a flash drive saved as a particular file name and add it on the setup screen.
Have they solved the ability to use full screen on the 22 models
Its designed to do the screen in thirds
@@stevenwelchtoyota thank you
Great video. Can you get European maps? I live in Germany because of the military and my highlander has no maps.
I would assume you can get it from your dealership through a upload a card or a download depending on which system you have
@@stevenwelchtoyota i would like to assume that too but they have no idea how it works. They put me in touch with a German dealership and they said to call an American dealership and see if they can help me some how. I'm not even sure if it takes a disc USB stick or sd card. My guess is a USB stick. Toyota-mapupdate.eu says this as well "In case your car is not a European spec car but you would like to purchase European cards, please ask your dealer or try to find your update on the regional website as indicated above". I looked on the website but not sure what I'm doing.
Can you just have Nav and radio?
You will always have 3 items of info minimum. You can go the the customize home screen and set it there. You can have up to 4 blocks plus your settings for the a/c etc to have navi you mush have no more than 4 blocks of info
Steven Welch Hey steve - i think he meant just the nav and audio uo. A few times u had the nav bigger screen up with a small climate screen like ay 6:41. Can u have a large nav screen with a small audio screen?
I thought it was 12.3
You are correct. I had to wrong. It's fixed now
@@stevenwelchtoyota 👍
Sorry but I think it looks ridiculous. This was one of the reasons I bought the 2019. To each his own I guess.
Most people are loving it. If you want the 8 inch screen you can get it on the limited and below trim levels
The size of the screen doesn’t bother me as much as having it stick up over the dash, it reminds me of an iPad stuck to the control panel - it just looks weird to me.
@@robynsimmons3711 it is meant to help keep your eyes up
I agree with you, however Toyota managed to segue somewhat smoothly with the contours of the dash pretty intuitively and not as intrusive as those " afterthought " looking... literal thin panels propped and extending from out of nowhere on other competing new vehicles. This is something of which we'll see as the new standard. ( I prefer knobs and buttons )
WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME YOU USE CAR GPS NAVIGATION TO GO SOMEWHERE PEOPLE??? Why do people want maps in car when it’s already in phone
Some people just dont like using their phones
Because it's easier to look at larger screen on the car instead of your phone and it a lot safer too when u are looking forward NOT DOWN AT YOUR PHONE
@@thomaslavin3640 good point
I like large screen cuz it looks pretty and futuristic.
